About "Josie chippy" in this episode, I don't know. I thought she did a good job in her role, I think she's an awesome actress, and I think her character is coming on with some interesting "baggage". But I guess I'm just sort of confused about what her role is going to be, and how she really "fit in" in this episode. To me at least, I thought the whole thing was rushed, and she was just thrown into the investigation and she wasn't even formally introduced to all the members of the team.

I don't feel I am judging her on rumours!!!! And I don't recall personally judging her myself. I'll do that when I see the episode for myself. I have simply read what a whole load of people who have been Cold Case fans for a while or even since the beginning of the show have had to say about the way her character has fitted into the dynamics of the team. And it seems that at this very early stage her place is not yet justified. But hey that might and quite possibly will change.

Sonny - I think (but could be wrong that sbfan was referring to the "people" on the show and not on the board. Please correct me if I'm wrong sbfan.

If that's so I apologize for my mini rant! There are so many people with different views I just think that even though we are all have different perspectives and preferences we need to respect one anothers take on what has been seen. :smile37:

Omigod, I loved this ep! It was awesome and I personally like the screen being slit into four....reminds me of some movie or something. I thought this ep was excellent, except a little too predicatable. I sens the chemistry between Scotty and Jo too...he's acting the same way around her as he did when he first met Chris. I don't think Vera can really talk about Jo being a bad person because of the rumors about her, and I don't think it's entirely appropriate for him to be getting involved with suspects (not to mention phsyco stalkers!) Lilly is being nice to Jo, which sort of suprises me, seems she might be cold towards her, but maybe that's just me.
I agree with TVfan, Scotty did have a really good scene with Quinn when he told her she was wasting his time and he really needed to solve the case. I didn't really like the Quinn character and thought she was way to spacey and really needed to try to believe in herself. I thought it was really sad when she was afraid she was going to drop the baby. I think if she could deliver a baby a bathroom stall, I don't really think she would drop the baby! I'm really happy about the runion scene at the end also.
I can't wait until the next episodes, this season is more exciting than last it seems!

Beware Spoilers Below - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Excellent premiere. Did I say excellent? I was taken back in time with this episode. I was leaving 8th grade and going into high school in 1988 and the scene was good. The music was right on target. "Josie chippy" is great in my book. She did a good job on the case as a new addition. Lily did look like she was constantly crying. The best thing was the four screen flashback. I was really trying to watch all four screens. As for the killer, I was kind of surprised. I did feel sorry for the guy. He had his heart set on a baby for his wife. But that was no reason to kill Jimmy. This season has started off well.

I loooooooooooved it. It made my night, considering I was having a very sad day. LOL! Anyway, I am an 80's nut so I really love when they do an 80's case because of the music alone. I wish they used more songs though. As a the one who's name we shall not say/"Josie chippy" fan, I definitely was not disappointed. I mean I was bummed she wasn't in the opening, but I knew she wouldn't be after the news we got from her SBO moderators earlier. I wanted to slap Vera when he shunned her, but at the same time I really enjoyed his animosity, if that makes any sense. And it warmed my heart that Lily was the one to make her feel welcome. I definitely think they will be close and Lily will act as a big sister/mentor to "Josie chippy". And I absolutely loved that "Josie chippy" was the one to "close" the case and put the box away. It made me feel better about the one who's name we shall not say's status on the show. ~Vicky~

"Family" is excellent~ I like the new cameraing~The screen spilt into 4~great! Kathryn Morris really awesome!!! I like the scene that when Lily read the news of George, she threw it away~showing that Lily is hurt after the woods in a wordless way!!! On the whole~this episode is fantastic except the ending that Joise was the one put away the box~not Lily!!!

I might be in the minority, but I really like "Josie chippy". She's another smart, tough, sweet female detective. She's well written, and very well acted by the one who's name we shall not say. It was nice to finally see her on screen after hearing so much about her on this board! I like the way she brings a sweetness to "Josie chippy" without taking away her edge. Her past is just as mysterious as the others, and she seems like a positive addition to the team. TVFan - I agree with you. I didn't like the idea but now I think "Josie chippy" really deserves a chance. I'm curious how they'll go on with her. But I didn't like the case of this episode. It was basically good, but I think sometimes less is more and I had the weird feeling of a potpourri. I like to have many suspects but I don't like it to be superficial. And, uh, I had the impression the case was a bit hurried and forced but not the introduction of "Josie chippy". LOL Actually I think they did quite a good job with the introduction of "Josie chippy". Stillman send her out with Scotty and didn't waste time to wait for the whole team to introduce her. "Josie chippy" had to do that herself. It's never easy to get a good start as newbie. Mind, "Josie chippy" is new to the group but not to the job. And if people think you know what to do they simply throw you into it - at least that's my own experience. It was a bit strange though, that Lilly was the one who first talked to the girl (so, should have been her case) but mainly Scotty and the others including "Josie chippy" seemed to do most of the work. That "Josie chippy" put away the box at the end made it only look more like that, but I like this scene nevertheless. "Josie chippy" looked around in the archiv for a moment She looked impressed to me. It was like, "Oh, wow, so many cases, and I'm now a part of this all." Or, "Wow, what a good show and I'm glad I can be a part of it"

Ooooooo I'm buzzing now cos i've just finished watching it. It won't go down as one of my fave episodes but it was nice to see the team back on our screens!! Kathryn was awesome as usual!!! Lilly looked so sad for most of the episode and I think she is carrying round a whole lot of raw emotions at the moment which will hopefully come out sooner rather than later. There was no personal stuff in this ep, but I didn't really expect much since it was the season opener. I liked the scene with Lilly in the elevator looking at the paper and when she reunites Claire and Quinn at the end was great. Now, as for "Josie chippy"..... for a start I didn't see any chemistry between her and Scotty. I think he wanted to give her a chance cos he understands what it is like to have screwed up, but because of the pressure of Vera felt akward about being civil to her. That was the only impression I got. I'm not convinced of her role yet but she may grow on me, I just don't know. Wasn't keen on her writing on the box either but i'm sure i'll get over that pretty quick!! There was so much that was different about the style and set up that it's all gonna take a while to adapt to it. Not that i didn't like the 4 way split screen and the way they shot some of the scenes cos it was new and fresh which is a good thing. For me there wasn't enough of Lilly in it [but then the episode could of had 40 minutes of just Lilly in and that still wouldn't be enough!!!]. I'm looking forward to future weeks when the begin to mix in the personal lives of the team [90% of which should be Lilly please!!!].

Woo-Hoo! I'm so happy you got to see it!
Okay, I really hope Lily's emotions come out sooner rather than later as well. But, I've got to give KM her props for her acting in this episode! Just like you said, KM was awesome as usual. And I thought the end scene was fantastic as well.
As for "Josie chippy", I'm glad to hear that someone else did not sense any chemistry between "Josie chippy" and Scotty. With all the people saying that something "is" there between them, I was wondering if I was just in denial or something....

I'm with ya both! Didn't see anything between them.. rather an uncomfortable spot for Scotty when he had to "drag her along".. hehe, maybe he didn't feel that way, I just thought so.. hehe..

This is making me feel so much better. I was thinking that maybe I was just...well, letting my emotions contort and change what I was seeing on the screen.
Basically, I thought I was losing it.....although, some of you I'm sure think I'm already too far gone to ever be saved! haha
