All I can say is that it was incredible. I loved every minute of it. And the interrogation scene was excellent. The ending song was "Wise Up" by Amy Mann.

Hi Falling, I thought the ep was great but I have one qualm. I wish they had never told us in the promo that three claimed to kill the guy. Aimee Mann is one of my favs especially when she was with Til Tuesday back in the 80's. I have their first two albums...yes the actual albums! ~Naj

I knew one of the 3 confessors was gonna pull the gun. That ep was the first in a while that had me sweating and on-edge.

I couldn't believe Lily got out in the open to try and stop the guy from killing himself. She didn't have a bullet proof vest on. I was surprised he took his own life, though. That scene had me on edge too! ~Naj

What the kids did was really brave. And I think that Kavanaugh got what was coming to him. That part at the end, that was great. If they ended they season right now, I wouldn't care. But we still have one episode left!

That's a good point, Falling. We would have had Danny and the Alysia (sp) problem and all the team was there working together on this episode. Now you have me wondering if it was suppose to be a Season ender and they had room for an extra episode.
Did you notice they didn't advertise the finale at all? Usually season finales have a promo. Unless they aren't done shooting......

They'll most likely end the season with a Killyite moment. Just covering all bases. Intense, powerful episode, all the team, Alissa+Valens moment. Ep 23 will very probably have an important Killyite moment up with the likes of Glued and Hubris. Tonight's episode was matched only by Fly Away and maybe Glued for emotional intensity.

Another awesome episode.
Won't say too much about the main case itself except that it was moving as usual, and the ending was very sad, with Bronze Star telling Lilly that he wants her to put him away because he knows he's going to turn into another pedophile like Nash.
I want to talk about the Scotty/Alyssa plot line. It seemed a little out of sorts, kind of tacked on to the episode, but I thought both Danny Pino and the actress who plays Alyssa did an excellent job. It's not easy having a loved one suffer mental illness, and there's not always a means to help them, so it gets very frustrating --- Pino depicted the desperation and helplessness fabulously. The scene where he cries and Elisa holds his head in her lap is heart-breaking.
I also liked how the other Stillman reached out to Scotty and told him to forget everything, just go find Alyssa first. Later, he asks Lilly some questions about Scotty and Alyssa. I love how this team of cops actually cares about each other, unlike in some shows where co-workers practically have separate lives that never intersect aside from work.

Another amazing episode. I'm bumbed there were no Killy scene's, but I thought the storyline with Scotty and Alyssa was really sad. I never knew Danny Pino was such a good actor. I was totally not expecting him to kill himself. Ususally in those situations, the detectives will convince him not to, which I thought Lilly would do. I felt so bad for her, cause it seemed like she thought it was her fault. I'm hoping for a good season finale!

As usual I need to watch it again because I sorta missed the Alysia/Scotty scene. The only other thing I've seen Danny is was the recent New Zealand production of Lucy (Lucille Ball story). He played Desi Arnez and was excellent.
We found out that Jeffries had a wife that died 9 years ago. That's something new. And we know that Vera (from another ep) is married.
I have a question up on the Scotty/Alysia thread in General but I couldn't make out what Alysia had printed on her door mirror. Anyone know?

something like the Giants are back or still here.... I remember when she met that one African American Detective and she called him a Giant. I still don't understand her phobia about Giants or the appearance of Giants I thought when I saw the coming episodes when Lilly shouts out "Gun"!! that Alyssa was the one with the gun B/c she was missing!! I was also thinking what police station leaves their locker in the front entrance? Esp. when prisoners are brought out in that direction? I know ..I know it's in the S C R I P T but geez.... Lilly was very brave to face that kid when eventually he shoots himself. All in all, I thought it was a very moving and touching episode with showing the Alyssa/Scotty scene and what happened with these boys at the academy.

I think it said something like "the Giants are back." If she's schizophrenic, the Giants would probably be the voices in her head who are telling her to do things. The medication probably managed to get rid of these voices earlier, but she's starting to hear them again, which means the meds probably aren't working anymore.
"We'll get stronger meds," says Scotty. *cries* I really, really liked that last scene between S and A.

I really liked this episode too. Besides the stars of the show giving their usual good performances, I really thought the guest stars - the three guys who confessed (young and old) - did an amazing job too! They made you feel their rage and helplessness at the same time. I felt so bad for them. The ending was so sad too when the Bronze Star guy gave his award to the kid in the hospital (he didn't kill himself, by the way) - I felt bad for him too, that he has to suffer for the rest of his life for that creepy pedophile's actions. One question, though, why didn't they have handcuffs on any of the guys when they were walking through the station with them? Don't they usually do that - on past episodes? Oh well, minor thing for another GREAT Cold Case! My all-time fav is still A Time to Hate though!

I was kinda glad that the kid didnt kill himself, because you could tel that lilly was beating herself up for him shooting himself, like she was responsible (i think someone mentioned this earlier?). she didnt even want them to be charged for the murder because the army guy (however you spell his name) really provoked them. it was a really good episode, and i liked the little scotty/ alyssa thing. scotty did mention in a previous episode, im not sure which one("volunteers" maybe), that alyssa is schizophrenic it was . im hoping, though, that we'll be seeing some killy scenes in the finale!! lol that icon is awesome...

I had a questions concerning something one of the kids (now an adult) said to Jeffries. Something about his "wife and the bishop?", and then Jeffries replied that his wife died 9 years ago. Does anybody remember what exactly was said and what he meant??

The Giants might also be delusions (i.e. things she sees). Many people suffering from schizophrenia see things that aren't there.
