Maybe that's why Lil's dad left, maybe he found of that Christina wasn't his?? But why Leave Lilly there with a drunken mom, he must have not loved her . Remember in Maternal instints Lilly mentions something like " It's winter time and you got no job and your wife has a new man " .

Maybe her father loved her but just didn't have the time or resources to look after a six year old. Besides, back then it was almost standard for the mother to keep the kids in the event of a breakup, usually (unfortunately) not matter how messed up she is.

I voted for good episode. I liked the whole story. I just don't say it was excellent because the end was too confusing. Did he want to kill Dana or was it an accident?

I don't know... Anyway, it's not an excuse for abandoning his little girl. But I agree with you: maybe he left coz he found out Chris wasn't his daughter.

Maybe he and Lilly's mom were just a couple of immature kids who decided to hook up and suddenly... look! 2 kids, and no money, and jobs they don't like, and RESPONSIBILITIES they weren't ready for. So Lilly's dad took off. Maybe he didn't have a real reason, he just felt overwhelmed with family duties he didn't want, so he disappeared. It's actually quite common, and a good reason for why he never contacted Lilly later. He just didn't want to. And maybe Lilly's mom didn't want to keep her and Christina either, but she was stuck with them. So she kept on being an irresponsible kid, drinking and partying and hooking up, leaving them to their own resources. To this day.
I honestly don't think Lil's dad had any REAL reason for leaving them, except that he didn't want a family. Otherwise he would have come back. For birthdays, graduations... whatever. He wouldn't have run away like that.

Now I am confused , In the episode " Who's your daddy" Lilly is looking at a picture of her dad holding her with a big smile on her face. Did he love her or did he really die and Ellen just made it up about him leaving

Well... Lilly is his daughter. She could love him even if he was just an irresponsible kid-dad who left her. Children always look up to their parents, especially at that age (6 and younger), and if they up and leave, the fairytale image of that time remains forever. So she could very well love him even if he didn't love her.
Anyway, I'm not saying he didn't love her. Maybe he did. But not maturely enough to stick by her. He's probably somewhere with another family, feeling guilty every day thinking of the daughters he left... but still able to push that guilt to the background. In other words, he loves her, but not enough...
He COULD have died, of course. And it could account for his leaving. Or he could have died after he left and that's why he never came back. But Ellen wouldn't have lied about it if he'd died. What for? If he died she'd get all his money (if he had any) and all the pity and understanding that comes with being widowed, so she probably wouldn't have been judged for being a drunk. Cost-benefit, it would have been more advantageous for her to be widowed than divorced.

Maybe Lilly's still holding on to that memory is maybe he did love her and protected her against Ellen at one point. At a young age, Lilly might have mixed reality with fantasy and not really understood why he left. There could be a lot of reason why he left his kids, maybe someone was out to hurt him so he did one better and left his family, maybe Ellen was abusive like the women in " Churchgoing people". Possibly he was cheating and knew he couldn't face his kids and wife.
There are a lot of reasons, but Maybe after he left Lilly felt abadonment and knew that nobody could give her the safety that she once had.

Very telling how nearly everyone is analyzing Lilly's personal life based on one scene and very little has been said about the case itself.
I just noticed something while re-watching the end a few minutes ago, but I'm surprised no one else noticed it:
When Dana's "ghost" (for lack a better term) salutes at the end, her prosthetic hand actually morphs mid-salute into a real hand!
It was a little jarring when I watched it again to confirm. Maybe because I'm just not used to seeing morph effects on the show. (They never use it when characters turn to and from their younger selves for instance).

Alright so either that's a "goof" or we could go with the elaborate theory that as she's saluting and able to pass on she's become fully restored.
My gum that sounded awful.
