what a great episode last night!!! What a great chat last night!! We covered so much about this episode and we still have questions All in all, Katherine did a great job, my heart was touched in many ways when she had to reflect back to her childhood nightmare George was scary I felt somewhat sad for him; they reflected back as to how his life was in which he stated to Lilly that they were alike with their childhood. AS I said the chat was great last night and I was happy to meet new members and some of the regulars last night. It was just so awesome.. ;D I wish we had our other smileys back ..gosh <banana dance> ;D

First off I'd like to thank the entire cast and crew of Cold Case for such a great episode this season. And everyone please wander over to our "Look Again Best of Season 2 Awards" forum. We are going to be placing categories for nomination for our first annual awards for the show. It's coming this week barring the pending v4Upgrade from ProBoards. What can I say except this was intense, riveting and high drama. Kathryn Morris was excellent in this episode as I long awaited a chunk of screen time for her this season. Veena Sud, you rock! I'd love to see more Veena Sud episodes. John Billingsley I must say I didn't want you to go. I somehow wanted you to be the Cold Case menace re appearing later for a third time somewhere down the line. I wished this could have been a two hour story but I'm happy with the final product. I actually felt very sad for George and I was completely caught off thinking that Lilly would be running around outside in the woods. Very trickey! And when George took her cell phone first and then the gun, I thought she has to be absolutely screwed. She had to be thinking she was screwed.... I still don't know if Lilly tells the truth about her past or whether she is partially giving real information. I'm referring to her conversations with George in the attic. I'm thinking some of it is true but what parts? Her formal education is some psychology per George. All I do know at the end of Season 2 is that something is haunting Lilly about her past but I don't feel it's answered. I was glad the writer put the Scotty/Lilly tension first and addressed it and tied it up. I have to say that I really need to rewatch this as I do all the episodes as there was a reference to Scotty's g/f Elyssa and her death. Makes me wonder how George knows as much as he does. How does he know that Lily has pictures of all the dead cases at home by her nightstand? "You sleep with the dead. You're halfway already there." I liked the music chosen for the episode and the way it sounded coming from the attic. Gee there's so much more...but I'll let others chime in. I'm sure there are more question like how one can have a mother with hysterical blindness. And lastly, it wasn't our intention to neglect the board last night. But we decided to open the chat room and when we did we just couldn't seem to pull ourselves out of the chat to come post. Chat was just as intense as the finale! I'm washed! But we have plenty of time to talk about this finale and see some screenshots and segments if irishkale is up to the task. Would like to get some new avatars made from this ep too. ~Naj

What a riveting, amazing, and well done episode. It was the highlight of the series for me! Veena Sud and everyone else who wrote the storylines for this episode should be very proud. I didn't know anything about this episode except that George was coming back. I was pleasantly surprised at how the whole thing was handled. It was very interesting to explore the murder (a cold case) of George's mother. It was a great way to bring the George story arc full circle. I assumed that the ep would be very focused on George versus Lilly, and therefore, would leave the case element under developed. But, the case was fascinating because there were so many twists and turns. I was constantly changing who I believed killed Simone Marks. There were great plot devices for building suspense and keeping my interest until the "big showdown." It seemed that George's mother was just as insane as he. Sadly, she didn't seek the help she needed, and George suffered right along with her. He tried to help her by marking the lines for the number of steps, but she sent him away anyway. Then, she committed the ultimate betrayal when she sold her son out in order to avoid the rape. It was a very sick thing to do, and it definitely explains George's issues. The only question I have about the ep is why were the buried skulls facing the attic? Was it because it was George's room (a.k.a "the woods")? The directing in this episode by Nelson McCormick was very well done as well. I loved the flashbacks with the grainy vision that brought back memories of "Mind Hunters." The haunting music from the attic was very chilling and really set the mood well. The lighting in the attic during the showdown was so creepy and perfect. Much of Lilly and George was concealed by the lack of light, just as much of their past was concealed by their own wounds. It worked so well to have Lilly partially lit against the painted, dark trees of "the woods." Now, on to the showdown. This was the most intense and emotional scene I have seen. Lilly was brought to tears many times, and George was sitting there loving every moment. I LOVED how she turned the tables on him and really got to him the same way he got to her. It seems that Lilly was mugged while going to the store to buy alcohol for her mother. She was only ten years old at the time, and the memory still haunts her today. I think there is probably more to the story because Lilly seemed to indicate that there was more, but she just didn't want to discuss it with George. There were so many good lines in this scene, especially: Lilly - "Not with you." (when George says that she's been dying to discuss what happened to her with someone) The entire showdown scene was brilliantly done, so a big kudos to everyone involved. Kathryn was amazing in this episode. I was so happy to see her get some really difficult material, and she handled it beautifully. She was just incredible. I loved how she managed to answer some of George's questions as "Little Lilly." It showed just how much George was getting to her because she was reverting back to the incident. She also managed to bounce back and fight George by getting to him as well. Kathryn bounced between the two emotions effortlessly and very convincingly. In the end, Lilly was the ultimate fighter. I was so happy that Lilly saved herself before Stillman came in the attic. I wouldn't have liked it any other way. Lilly is not a "damsel-in-distress," so it would have been out of the show's character to have her "saved" by a man. I can't wait to see how Lilly deals with the reality that she killed someone. It was a moving moment when Lilly "saw" little George because she was the "killer" this time. Two thumbs way up to Kathryn for her well done performance!! Too bad the EMMY voters most likely wouldn't acknowledge it. I thought the closing song was perfect. It just summed up the whole story arc. Overall, this was an awesome end to an excellent season! Thanks to everyone on Cold Case!! You guys rock!

I think another Ep Review from TV maybe? I, too, am thrilled that Lilly dealt with George alone and faced him. It wouldn't have worked any other way and I think many fans would have been angry if someone, even Stillman, came to the rescue for this episode. Maybe some other time but not this one. Also I didn't know when the gun went off if Lilly hadn't been hit or killed. I was thinking, "Oh No!" I hope whoever has to get Cold Case nominated for an emmy gets this performance noticed as far as regular cast. There are some other good eps this season, too, that are exceptional with guest cast. I'll hold those for our nominations forum. I'm hoping that we do see in the first ep next season a little more about how Lilly deals with this killing...maybe even a first case ep that takes off where right this one ends. Oh, TV, Mark Pellington was consulted on this ep. I knew he had to be involved somehow. ~Naj

Gosh, this episode was great (at least according to what I've heard). Just wanna thank everyone for a great chat last night and lots of interesting information that me and my fellow "delayed viewers" could not have lived without. Special thanks to V and coeurdobscurite for a really exciting, detailed nearly line-by-line account of everything that happened... and in the middle of the night, too. You guys rock!

My pleasure, Disasterfreak. It was a lot of fun. Although I paid for it today. (Those are bleary eyes behind those shades -- thank goodness for Starbucks!). Thanks to everybody for a great chat. It was my first one in this forum and I thoroughly enjoyed it. BTW, great episode analysis TVFan and Naj!!

That's funny Naj because I was thinking the same thing about your post. Oh, and that makes perfect sense that Mark Pellington was a consulting producer on this episode. It's hard to miss his nice work. Thanks for the info. Thanks V! It was easy with such a wonderful episode to discuss!

So you were all still burning the oil. I guess you are on a different time zone than me. We can do that again...leave the chat room open for members to drop by on your own and chat at designated nights. No problem. I've been writing down some of George's lines. Freaky stuff. Oh gee TV, me write a review? Oye! ;D I don't think I'd qualify for spelling and punctuation and sentence structure! ;D ~Naj

Foxfire, I don't know why but it's impossible for me to watch your clip. I can get into the page just fine, but when I click "play wmv" it goes blank. Anyone else having trouble?

hey disasterfreak and anyone else having the same problem! yea, that website is weird... when you click on 'play', try not to move the window or adjust the volume within the windows media screen. the screen will go white for no reason if you do. it happened to me when i was testing it out.

Probably a really silly question but does anyone know, or know where I could find the soundtrack for this episode? Like a list of the songs used.
Thanks
