One Word: OMG This is got to be the most poweful cliffhangers, it's a good thing that it's not a two hours season finale. I think that Lilly will live ( No Spoilers), since we know that Kathryn isn't leaving the show or has any interest to do so. She's probably going to fight for her life ( No Spoilers), but I really liked the episode very much. Frankie and Scotty, will that ever stop. ADA Bell asking Kat out was pretty nice. Lilly seemed visably emotional when reading one of her father's letter, hmm maybe b/c after their little spat last week; made him think differently. As for Lilly calling Scotty that name; it was just a pun since she was talking about her first partner before she hit homicide. How he used to call her names. So she did the same back to her current partner ( Scotty). Many might think that it's romance or that she likes him, but it's clearly not that, it was used in the context as a pun or a reference to what I had stated before.

I clicked the wrong thread and thought we weren't discussing until the end of the series. Anywho, WHAT THE DUCK. I SAW it coming! I SAW it! lol As soon as she picked up the phone! what the DUCK. Agh! I think she'll live too, because Lilly's beast and nothing kills her.

I think Lilly shouldn't have been talking on the phone, but I really hate whomever had done this to her. The case was pretty different.

A very riveting case this evening! I haven't figured out who did it yet and I don't want to know until next week. Kat got asked out by the DA - loved it! I'm enjoying Lilly's challenge and I don't understand why she went alone to interrogate that guy (shoe shine) who was supposed to be looking out for Cadet Butler.

Really great so far! I like the pacing, how the investigation seems to be going in a bit more details in each scene. I also liked how Pearl Jam wasn't played too heavily. Several actual Philly-area locations were mentioned, such as Bucks County, Valley Forge Military Academy, Bryn Mawr College, and the Roxborough neighborhood in Northwest Philly. That part of the city actually does have several bridges over rivers....

Hey boys and girls! How are you all tonight? It's the Birthday Boy in his final hours of celebration....I gave this ep an excellent vote! It carried my attention all the way through it, and the ending left me in much suspense! Oh, it sucks that Lilly got ran off a bridge.....I don't know who did it, but it could be any of several people at that academy. My money's on Michael Ironside's character. I remember Michael from many movies where he was a military sort - Top Gun, Starship Troopers, etc. He just seemed to have a special resentment for Lilly because she is a lady. Granted, she made cold impressions with many of the men she has dealt with at the academy so far, but from what I have seen, Commandant Murillo is my guess. But the guys at the academy really seem to have targeted Lilly, and she has fired back at them and let them know that they have no easy battles when dealing with her and homicides. I liked seeing her hold her own with those guys. I'm also very hopeful that she will be all right for next week....I think the boys and Kat may need to step it up next week and go to work to find Lilly's assailant. I also liked ADA Bell asking Kat out, and I also liked those cadets when Scotty asked the guy about them staring straight ahead, and he responded "Not every day the men see a pretty blond, sir" and then Lilly smiled. I also think Scotty was sort of breaking it off with Frankie tonight. Granted, we've said that many times before, but the season is winding down and I just do not see it happening. Too much history, you know? But I'm definitely looking forward to next week's episode! Let's end this season with a bang and show the networks exactly why Cold Case needs to be back next season. Let's just say it's the Birthday Boy's wish as it winds down.... Have a rocking night, boys and girls!

Wow, I have to say that once I actually started paying attention to this episode (as opposed to trying to figure out what songs were playing) it really grabbed me. Naturally I'm going to go the bizarre route and talk more about the overt religious/spiritual tones to this episode.
So, all that talk about the Garden of Eden and the angel with the flaming sword guarding the tree of life? Well, it seems obvious that the guy who wrote these letters was a mysogynist. He probably believed that he was the "angel" assigned to guard the "Garden of Eden" aka the military school.
According to angelology there are some that say that Uriel (light of God/Fire of God) was assigned the task of guarding the Garden. According to the Book of Enoch he assumes the role of the angel of lightning, thunder and, terror. And, he assumes a more violent role in this book.
The phrase "On the eighth day God created..." seems more of a satirical term however, there is one quote that says "On the eight day God created Marines"
Hmm. And wasn't it mentioned that the oddballs were "the female, the black guy and, the Jew"? Can anyone state the names of the two males in that group?
Oh and, for once my song hunch proved correct. I knew they were going to use "Black" as the final song.

They sent Lilly off a bridge! Of course, Lilly will find a way out of the car. She said in an interview on Regis & Kelly that everything would come to a head with Lilly, and I don't think that killing her off would accomplish that. So I was wrong thinking they were going to push ADA Bell onto Lilly, I loved it when he asked out Kat. My favorite line in the whole episode was were Lilly told the Commandant that it was Detective and she definitely earned it! GO LILLY!!! P.S. Jessica Tuck is now the lastest of the "Saving Grace" cast to make an appearance on Cold Case!

I'm chuckling here - it's like deja vu in McGinty's and so up your alley and area of knowledge. Did you kill the cadet?

I have to say that I loved this epi!
I do recall "Kat" saying in an interview that she was thinking about getting back out there..as far as the dating scene goes. I am excited to see what happens, as the romance on the show typically revolves are Lily or Scotty.
Does anyone think that Frankie is going to try and hurt Scotty or something? She was so angry about him not wanting to come back to her.

It has been over between Frankie and Scotty, he just walked away from here. He knows that Frankie's trouble, and doesn't want that. At least he acted his age, instead of 15.
ADA Bell and Kat, I can see that. At least he seems to be normal and different from all the past ADA's.
I"m still wondering about the letter that Lilly was reading from her father, i screencapped it but couldn't make out what exactly it had said.
