This is my first fanfic. I know alot of you don't like the idea of Lilly and Scotty ending up together but comments and helpful tips explaining my mistakes would be appreciated since it would help me determine whether I should continue.
Title: Final Destination Rating: PG (for now) Pairing: Lilly and Scotty Summary: Set in season 7. How I think the storyline between Lilly and Scotty should go. After a long day Scotty finally gets the courage to tell Lilly how he feels. How will this change their partnership? Will it ruin them forever or will this push them closer together? It had been a long day for Lilly. The case had hit home. A 10 year old girl who had been raped and murdered. Everyone noticed how she was different with this case. It reminded her of her past. After everyone had left she sat alone at her desk going over the files to see if she could notice anything she may have missed earlier. She was struggling to put the case together. Her mind was racing with thoughts of the poor, little girl. Her head was pounding and her neck felt like it was about to snap off. “Lil?” she heard a familiar voice whisper. It made her jump “Find anything yet?” the voice said in a firmer voice. She realised it was Scotty’s. “Nah, I thought you left.” She mumbled, turning to face him. “Nope, just getting some air, case really is confusing.” He said as he walked over to her and leaned on her desk. “You ok?” “Yeah...Just...Um...Tired you know. Think I might pack up and go home for some needed rest?” she said smiling. “Need a lift? I’d be happy to drive ya home” He was afraid of what she might say next. “Sure, why not? The ride to Lilly’s place was quiet. Scotty had been planning this moment all week. However when the moment came, he was lost words. It killed him to see her like this, to see the case rip her walls down. He just wanted to hold her in his arms and never let go. When they arrived at her place she had her head against the window facing the outside world. Scotty wondered if she was asleep. He quietly got out of the car, went over to her side and opened the door. There was Lilly, fast asleep. He had never seen anything more beautiful in his life. He undid her seatbelt; picked her up so she was straddling him, grabbed her things, made sure she wouldn’t fall and carried her to her front door. He searched her pockets for her keys and found them in her jacket. He unlocked her door and stepped inside. The room smelt just like her. He set her things down on the table and laid her on the couch. There she was. Lying like an angel. Scotty realised she looked amazing when she was peaceful, in a deep sleep. He lifted her legs, sat down the replaced her legs on top of him. He took her shoes and socks off and started to rub her feet. She was cold as ice, yet something drew him to her. He couldn’t keep his hands off her. “What are you doing?” Lilly said through her giggling. “He’s rubbing my legs. It feels kind of nice” she thought to herself. “I was just...I should go!” Scotty said a little louder than normal. “NO!” she screamed. “Maybe you can stay for a little while longer. I like company.” She mumbled. “Alright, I’ll stay.” It was then that he realised she didn’t want to be alone tonight. Then there was silence. It was like that for at least another 10 minutes. Lilly couldn’t bare it. It was driving her crazy. Finally the silence was broken when Scotty asked her if she had eaten anything at work. The words dinner made her stomach do somersaults. Scotty took that as a no and told her he would cook something easy for her if she didn’t mind. He had made her a quick pasta dish. She didn’t even know she had any pasta. The sauce that went with it made her mouth water. She never knew he was such a good cook. Once she had finished she gazed at Scotty. He had finished eating and was staring at the floor. “I wonder what he’s thinking” she thought to herself. She was distracted by the plate being taken from her hands. Scotty took the plate and walked into the kitchen. While in the kitchen Scotty went over what he was about to say to Lilly. Over the past 2 years he had felt things for Lilly he never had before. It drove him crazy, every time he looked at her his heart leapt. He got jealous of every guy that hit on her and clenched his fists at any guy that made a smartass comment about her. However, only in the last few months did he realise how much he treasured her. When she got pushed over the bridge, he knew then that he never wanted to loose her. He gotten close to losing her too many times and he was not going to allow it anymore. He calmed down, took deep breathes and started to walk back into the lounge. He was finally going to tell her he loved her.

As he walked into the lounge he noticed she had moved over to the window and was staring out into the dark night. He knew this was his chance and he wasn’t going to ruin it.
He coughed, making her turn around and walk back to the couch. She sat down and gazed at him.
Scotty sat down next to her, a little too close which made her scoot over to arm of the couch and pull her knees up to her chest.
He didn’t want to take it too fast but he couldn’t find the words to explain his feelings and didn’t know where to start.
“Lil, I think we need to have a talk.” He started with. “About what?” she said laying her head on her knees and facing him. “Look, I know that...we know...we-ell what I am trying to say is...” he was stuttering and mixing his words up. “Choking on something Scotty?” she said through her laughter. “Just please listen, and don’t interrupt. I need to tell you something and I know it might ruin things but I need to get it off my chest. The last couple of years, I don’t really know but things have changed for me. I don’t look at you the same anymore. I don’t know when exactly it started but...I just...you make me feel whole. Every time I am around you, I can’t breathe. You look so...perfect. The way you walk with confidence, you gorgeous smile and your amazing blue eyes. I just, I started thinking that maybe friends isn’t enough for me. I know I hurt you, I know you might hate me forever, but I promise you I will never do it again! I can’t keep pretending anymore, I don’t wanna’ loose you Lil. I need you, I love you” he finished glancing up to see her reaction. She was bright red. She looked like she was about to faint. He took her hand and held it in his.
“I know it might take time for you, but I want to give us a try, see how it works out. Don’t run from us. You need love Lil.” He whispered, never letting go of her hand.
It was silent.
Suddenly she pulled her hand back like he burnt her. Tears were dripping down her face. She stood up staring at him through the tears. “Get out!” she yelled. “What?” “I said get out of my house!” she yelled a lot louder than her first time. “Lil, look...We can figure this out, you just need” he was cut off when she burst into uncontrollable tears. She was sobbing, trying to get her words out, but they were coming out as moans instead of words.
“Pleeease, leave.” Was all she could get out before it got too much for her to handle and she ran out of the room. Scotty knew she wouldn’t be too fond of the idea, but he didn’t think it would be that bad. He was heart-broken. He couldn’t believe she had done that to him.
He walked to the door, turned around and felt like he had left his heart with her. He stepped out into the cold and closed the door. He felt the breeze hitting him.
Once he had gotten into his car he banged his head on the steering wheel. He did it more than 10 times before his head started to ache. He couldn’t cry. He knew if he started to cry he wouldn’t be able to control it. He knew he couldn’t let her go this easily. He would fight for her, no matter how hard, he would fight for her.
Lilly awoke to the sound of her alarm clock. She just wanted to sleep. Forever. Last night floated into her mind. “What did I do?” she thought. She left him there like that. Like a small child who was being punished.
She swung her legs onto the side of the bed and sat up.
She couldn’t believe what he told her. He loved her. He wanted her. Her, not any other woman, just her. She didn’t know why but something in her was pleased. Inside, she was jumping up and down. She was excited that Scotty, her partner wanted to be with her. She didn’t know what to do. Whether to act as normal, as if nothing happened, or to confront him. What would she do is she confronted him? Tell him to put away his feelings for her, because she would never feel the same? She couldn’t do that. Not when something inside her was happy about his feelings for her.
“Do I feel anything for him?” She needed to figure out if she felt anything for him. Deep down there was something for him. She didn’t know exactly what it was. Was it love? It couldn’t be. No! She couldn’t be in love with Scotty. He was her partner.
He was incredibly handsome. How could she not notice his chocolate brown eyes, or his amazing smell, or the way he would run his hands through his hair when he was struggling. She had to admit he was a very fetching man. She couldn’t believe he would even think twice about her.
Over the past few years, things had changed. She noticed how he would sneak glances at her. Kat told her he always asked about her, how she was, was she having nightmares and he even asked if she was seeing anyone. She only thought he was being a partner.
She didn’t have a clue what she really felt. She needed to figure it out.
She headed for the shower. Hopefully she would have it figured out by the time she got to work.

well, lillyscotty, I'm one of those ppl that don't want Lil and Scotty to end up together...I was sceptical but I've read the story out of curiousity and...WOW! Amazing story. I like how you played it, that Lil is uncertain about her feelings. Both Lilly and Scotty are very much 'in character' which is uneasy to write in that kind of a scene. Congratz and I'm waiting for the rest...

Lilly was parked outside the department. She was hoping she would have figured out how she was going to go about her little ‘incident’ with Scotty; however it didn’t go as she planned. She was inside her car, going over her thoughts and trying to figure out her plan.
After 20 minutes she still hadn’t thought of anything. She was already late so she decided she would just have to deal with it on the spot.
As she walked to her desk, she saw Scotty’s jacket hanging over his chair. She was hoping, even under the slim chances, that he hadn’t arrived yet. This just put her under more pressure.
“Morning Lil.” Scotty’s voice! She started to get nervous, but luckily hide it under her mask. “Morning.” she said trying to sound professional and normal. He obviously wanted to ignore what happened yesterday and she had no problem with that. They didn’t say another word to each other that day. No one noticed their odd behaviour and Lilly was glad it wasn’t as hard as she had expected.
Lilly was at home watching TV when her door bell rang. She wasn’t expecting any visitors, which made her mind shoot straight to Scotty.
She hesitated, staying on the couch trying to keep silent. She knew the TV would make her presence clear.
“Lil, I know you’re in there. Can you just open the door so we can get this over and down with?” he grumbled through the door.
She got up and unlocked the door to let him in.
As soon as she opened the door, all the thoughts of the previous night came floating back. The smell was what he noticed most. The room smelt just like her. It made his body shiver. Her smell was so inviting.
“Can we make it quick?” she asked. “Why, it’s not like you have anything else better to do.” Scotty murmured.
Scotty regretted it the moment it came out of his mouth. He didn’t me for it to come so harsh. He just wasn’t in the mood for small talk.
“Sorry.” he apologised. “I’m just not in the mood.”
She sat down on the couch and patted the spot next to her. He sat down and glanced at her. As soon as she looked up he turned away.
“Look, today was...unusual. We need to figure out how to act less obvious, so nobody knows what happened earlier.” He said weakly. “Yeah.” Was all she could reply with. She didn’t want to say anything to get his mind into the wrong ideas and thoughts. “ I just want you to know I’m not going to let go this easily, you can try to push me away but I’ll fight, no matter how hard you fight back!” he said clarifying his intentions.
She looked up and saw him looking deep into her eyes. It was the most wholesome feeling she had ever had. It was like he was staring right through her. She just wanted to reach up and give him a passionate kiss.
She reached up and ran her hand over his cheek running her hand down to his hands. She held his hands in hers, holding them tight, not wanting to let go.
“It’s hard Scotty.” She said gently. “What is?” Scotty was confused. She rejected him and now she was torturing him like this. He was going crazy in his mind. “One moment I hate you, and the next I want you to hold me and never let go.” She felt her eyes start to water. She didn’t want to cry in front of him, not again. She couldn’t let him see her with her walls down. Especially at a moment like this. “Well maybe you need to figure out which one you feel more.” Scotty said.
She leant over for hug. He rapped his hands around her waist pulling him into her. She was clinging to him, not wanting to let go.
“Can you just stay with me for tonight? It might help me figure out if I really want this or not.” She whispered.
She lied. In her mind, she was leaning towards letting him in and giving herself up to him so he can love her. Although it wasn’t definite. She just wanted someone to hold her so she wouldn’t feel alone tonight. The case was still disturbing her. Every time she thought of the little girl, horrid thoughts came to her mind. She didn’t want any nightmares tonight. She was hoping Scotty would help them stay away.
“Sure.”
In his mind he was saying ‘anything to get closer to her.’ He pulled her down with him and held her while she drifted off to sleep. This gave him courage that maybe; just maybe she might choose him. She might give him a chance to love her and let him she her vulnerable. He knew that this was a good start. He just needed to persist and never forget that she was his priority. He didn’t care if he was risking his job, she was vital to him. Like a needed part of him to live. He needed her, not just as a partner, he needed her love. If he didn’t have her love, there would be no reason to live anymore!

The next morning Scotty had awoken and was staring at ceiling. Last night was wonderful for him, having Lilly lay in his arms while she slept holding onto him. He never wanted to let go of her. He barley slept but he didn’t mind. Just watching her sleep was enough to drive him insane. It was killing him to just lay there emotionless, not wanting to move to awaken her from her dream.
He was presumed she was having a pleasant dream. She was smiling and once in a while she would mumble words together. He couldn’t make them out but he was sure he heard his name in there somewhere.
He was enjoying laying there with her sleeping on top of him when she slowly started to open her eyes. “Morning sunshine.” He whispered kissing her cheek. “Morning” she replied giggling. He couldn’t believe she giggled. Lilly Rush never giggled. Never! “What’s so funny?” he asked. “You kissed me on the cheek.” “Yeah.” He didn’t see the funny side to it. “I don’t know, it’s just, I’m still getting used to this whole new me.” She said looking up into his eyes. “New you?” he asked. “Well yeah. I’m thinking of trying it out. I like having you around. I feel secure and steady. If you get what I mean.” She muttered. “Well in that case I guess I might need to stay over more.” “I like that idea.” She said reaching up and kissing him on the lips. “Just remember, it’s hard for me. I want to take things slow and you have to give me time. It might be too much for me and I might change my mind.” She whispered. “On one condition, you need to tell me when you feel uncomfortable or when you’re having second thoughts.” “Deal” she said.
At work they tried to at act normal. The team noticed the looks the sneaked. It wasn’t awkward. However the team did notice they were out of character. It went on for a week, the team watching all their movements.
The team was still working on the same case but it didn’t seem to hassle Lilly as much. She was too wound up over Scotty to let anything awful get to her, and Scotty wasn’t going to allow it bother her either.
“You reckon something’s going on between Lil and Scotty?” Kat asked.
Will, Nick and Kat were in the break room going over some notes. Lilly and Scotty were out giving a ‘visit’ to the victim’s father, trying to get more out of him. They had a feeling he was holding something back.
“They are acting a little strange.” Will confirmed. “Strange? They have been odd all week. Lilly is like... she’s like a little adolescent who’s hormones are going crazy.” Kat hushed. “She can’t keep her eyes of Valens” Nick said, taking a sip from his coffee. “What did you mean by ‘something going on’?” Will asked. “Like maybe they hooked up or something” Kat said. “Hell no! Rush ain’t that dumb.” Nick shrieked. “Oh come on. I know there’s something going on. I’ll find out!” Kat said. “Don’t get too far into it. If they want to tell us they will.” Will said. Will walked to the door and turned before he left. “Whatever you do, don’t tell boss!” he said.
“Tell me what?” Stillman asked walking over to the coffee pot to get himself a drink. “Oh, that uh, the father may be the one that raped and murdered the little girl.” Kat said as sharply as she could, trying to cover up the real topic. “Kat, I am not that stupid. You’re talking about the odd behaviour between Lilly and Scotty, right?” he asked raising one of his eyebrows. “How did you know?” asked Nick. “Everyone has noticed. Just leave them be. They deserve to have a little bit of fun. Just as long as it doesn’t interfere with their job. It’s nice to see them happy for once.” Stillman said while watching the swirls in his coffee mug. “Didn’t think you would be so fond of their little bond.” Will said. “Well if Scotty hurts her then I will have a problem, but Lilly is a lot more cheery lately. It’s great to see her smile every time Scotty looks at her.” He said clearly leaving the break room as he finished.
They were all stunned. They thought John would be furious at Lilly and Scotty’s new little relationship. However he wasn’t. Stillman cared for Lilly and only wanted her to be happy. He just hoped that she would open up to him and tell him about her past. John knew it would be good for her to tell someone close.

It had been 2 weeks and things were still the same. Lilly spent her time after work with Scotty. They either stayed at one of their apartments, watched movies while they snuggled or went out for dinner somewhere fancy.
Lilly was starting to worry. She didn’t know what would occur if anyone in the department found out about their little relationship. She was scared of the outcome.
Scotty had started to notice the odd behaviour. When they were watching a movie she would creep over to the other side of the couch, as far away she could get from him. Even at work she would do anything to not have to talk or see him. It was killing him. He didn’t want to loose her when he had already gotten this close to her.
That night Lilly and Scotty were lying in Lilly’s bed. Lilly had rolled over to other side of the bed and pushed Scotty away anytime he tried to cuddle her.
Scotty was fed up. He was sick of her insecurity.
“God dammit Lil, stop turning your back on me. What is going on with you?” he shouted. “Just let me sleep.” She begged. “NO! I want to know what the hell is going on with you!” he yelled. “Scotty, don’t you see. Everyone knows about us.” She shouted back.
He put his hands around her waist and pulled him into her so she was straddling her. He ran his hand through her hair.
“Does it matter.” he asked “Yes, it does. I don’t want to risk my job Scotty.” She said trembling. “Babe, nothing will happen. If boss says anything we will sort it. Don’t cry baby. Everything will be ok.” He mumbled into her ear. “But...bu-u-ut what happens if he sa-a-ys we can’t be together. I can’t loooose my job it’s too important to me.” She whined placing her head on his shoulder. “Lil, I promise you, you won’t loose your job. If boss asks us if anything is going on we will tell him the truth. He can’t separate us if we ain’t interfering with the procedures.” He whispered. “Alright?” he asked. “Mmm, just as long as you stand by my side.” She pleaded. “Always.” He said kissing her hair.
The next day Lilly was more care-free. She told Scotty in the morning she wanted everyone to know about them. At first Scotty was sceptical but agreed. Lilly thought this would be best for both them. If everyone knew about their special connection then she wouldn’t need to keep worrying about what would happen if they found out.
They strolled into the department holding hands.
The team stared as they walked over to Lilly’s desk.
“We have something we want to tell you all, well mostly boss.” Lilly muttered. “Scotty and I, we have been in a, well a relationship sort of thing for a couple of weeks. We kinda guessed that maybe you already know but we thought it would be best if we came clean. We just need to know one thing boss. Does Scotty and I being together ruin anything? Are we allowed to stay together or will we loose our jobs?” she said.
“Well, firstly I want to say we already knew, and we are glad that you are both so fond of each other. No, it won’t ruin anything as long it doesn’t affect your work. Is that clear?” he said. “Yeah, course!” Scotty said.
Lilly and Scotty went along their day as normal. Inside their hearts were leaping. They were ecstatic that were allowed to stay together. Any moment they could sneak looks Scotty would wink at Lilly making her crazy with desire. She had never wanted someone in live so badly before. Scotty had the same feeling and he knew he couldn’t wait to get her home to his apartment and tell and show her how much he wanted to be with her. They both knew that it would be hard to act natural at work, but they would try their hardest. They were too in love to let anyone stand in their way, but what they didn’t know was someone was waiting for them to burst. Someone wanted to have Lilly; they wanted Scotty out of the picture and would do anything to get what they wanted.

Lilly and Scotty walked into the department the next morning exactly the same as the previous morning, holding hands and smiling.
They were both stunned to see Frankie talking to the rest of the team.
It had been a year since Frankie had left. She moved to California to start a new life without her husband. “Well hello there Scotty, and Lilly.” Frankie greeted them. “Long time, no see” she said. “Uh yea, what brings you back?” Scotty asked. “Funny you ask. I was actually hoping to see how you’re doing.” she said with a smirk. “Apparently you and Lilly are pretty close now.” Frankie said. “Yes we are, is there a problem with that?” Lilly asked in a harsher tone than everyone expected. “I guess not. I really need to get back to work, got my old job back and I am really late.” She said bitterly, glaring at Lilly. “So you’ll be staying for a while?” Lilly asked. “Certainly” Frankie said. “I guess I’ll see you all later.”
With that she walked past Scotty giving him a flirtatious smile and proceeded to walk out.
Lilly was clearly jealous. No one could miss her scowls and frowns. Scotty noticed it to and he was going to ensure her that he was only hers and nobody else could have him.
He pulled her away from the group as soon as everyone got back to work.
He took her to the break room and pinned her against the wall making sure no one would spot them.
“You’re jealous?” he asked. “No!” she mumbled. “Yeah that’s why you’re so gentle with her.” He muttered. Lilly sighed. “Scotty, it’s obvious she came to win you back.” She said harshly. “Well she’s not gonna get me. My hearts already with you.” He whispered. “Well as sweet as that sounds, she looks like she won’t give up without a fight.” She mumbled. “I guess she’s gonna have to be real fierce, cause she can’t compare to you when you get rough.” He said flirtatiously, winking. “She can’t have you!” she made clear. “I know, I’m all yours.” He said leaning down and placing a tender kiss to her lips.
Before things started to get too hot he leaned away. “Let’s get back before anyone gets suspicious.”
The day went on with Lilly terrified that Scotty would leave her for Frankie. Her insecurity’s were up to the highest they could reach and she was timid all day.
When the night was coming to an end and everyone was packing up to leave, Frankie reappeared. As soon as Lilly saw her she rolled her eyes and turned her back to her.
“I never forgot how tiring my job is.” Frankie said walking over to Scotty’s desk. “Well maybe you should go home!” Lilly said cruelly. “Oh, that wouldn’t be any fun now wouldn’t it? Especially my first day back.” Frankie said looking straight into Scotty’s eyes. “Well, Lil and I better get going.” Scotty announced standing up and walking over to Lilly and taking her belongings from her hands. “Don’t you want to come and have a few drinks to celebrate?” Frankie asked. “No! We have more important things to do” Lilly hushed. “I was asking Scotty.” Frankie said bitterly. “I am going out with Lilly, we have things planned.” Scotty said searching for his car keys in Lilly’s bag. “Can I join you?” Frankie asked. Before Lilly could reply Scotty answered. “Sorry it’s a special thing, for Lil and I only.” he said clearly. “Oh well, I guess next time.” Frankie said cheery again staring into Scotty’s eyes.
She turned around and walked out.
Lilly glared at Scotty, taking her things from him and walking out too.
‘Great. I guess our dinner tonight is a flop’ Scotty thought. Having to deal with Frankie back and a moody Lilly was going to be tough. However he wanted to make it up to her. He would carry out some other special event for them to enjoy at home.
He just wanted Lilly to be bright and dazzling again. He needed her to have faith in their relationship. He wanted Frankie to vanish and for Lilly to have no doubt in him.
He could never wound her in a way that would make her have a vendetta against him. He would never cheat on her or break her heart. Lilly was his all. Lilly was his life. Lilly was his not only his lover, she was his reason for getting up in the morning and the reason he was still alive.
