Thanks for all that great information InsideR! It's fascinating to me to learn about all of the hard work that goes into every episode. Not just on the screen, but all the behind the scenes work as well. I just got back from the set of another television show (Veronica Mars), and I noticed that during the scenes they were shooting while I was there, star Kristen Bell had a stand-in for a couple of the shots. I have read that Kathryn Morris has one as well. What is the point of the stand-in and when do they use them (in the VM scenes I saw, it was during tight shots from over the stand-in's shoulder)?

Thanks InsideR for telling me about all this! I allways assumed that there is a lot of work - still after filming but I didn't know that there are so many things to think about! I really respect all the work you guys do just to entertain us!!! Thanks for that too!!!

Hi again, InsideR, For the episode "8 Years", you mentioned that the longer version nixed by the network may someday become a collector's item. Since the DVD release of "Cold Case" may never see the light of day, how would the enterprising fan acquire a copy of edits, re-shot scenes, etc.? Legally, of course.

I have read that Kathryn Morris has one as well. What is the point of the stand-in and when do they use them? The main point of the stand-in is to keep the star from getting exhausted. They are often on set in a state of perpetual readiness for twelve hours or more. Any chance to give the star a break that works they will do. So that almost always means the stand-in is there for the tedious process of getting the lighting right and sometimes when another actor is being featured and you don't see anything other than a shoulder or top of the head of the star's character. -R

The best things the fans can do is to write and email Warners and CBS begging them to release the DVD. If they think they'll sell enough, they'll find a way to solve the licensed music problems. Same goes for a soundtrack album. -R

Dear InsideR, Please answer to your loyal fans a verry important question: What is Lilly's new coat made of? It looks like leather, but the stitching doesn't seem the right type for leather... The more you can describe this new coat to us, the happier a lot of us will be!! Thanks! -b.m. P.S. I also want to know more about her vest...

Hello again! Now, I have one more question. Maybe it is stupid to aks but I always wanted to know: Why are there so many producers involved and how much are they involved? There are so many producers named in the credits - are they all doing the same work??? and how much is e.g. Jerry Bruckheimer involved in the actual process? is he involved at all? I hope it's not a too stupid question to ask but I was always wondering about that!

"Producer" is a catch-all Hollywood term that means "I have some status beyond the job I was hired to do." Most of the "producers" are writers or directors, a few have other jobs. The most important "real" producer is Meredith Stiehm (who is handing off her role as show runner to Veena Sud). Jerry has very little to do with day to day operations but makes important strategic decisions. -R

Thanks InsideR, it does get confusing with all these many producers and writers so it's good you've cleared it up. ;D
So can you give us any inside info on what the rest of the season has in store for us? Will we see Ray again? Will Scotty change? Will Stillman work things out with his ex-wife? Will Vera divorce or adopt a child? Not many eps to go and I certainly am thinking about what the finale is gonna be about? And definately hoping it is very Lilly focused.

Geez... Sonny! Do you really wanna know all that stuff? I know this is spoilers but that's just spoiler-crazy!!! She'd practically be telling you the whole season. What if you get disappointed afterwards? ;D

Dear InsideR, There is some speculation that Kathryn sang the closing montage of "Willkommen". Can you clear the story for us? I never paid much attention to who was singing myself; I just assumed it was Laura Bell Bundy, who played Nora/Sally. But others have made the connection of the voice with Kathryn's musical upbringing, and that's a very sensible conclusion too. Thanks.

Kathryn claims she can't sing (considering her background I think she's probably just being modest) but Tracy Thoms, who most definitely can sing, was briefly considered to sing the montage number. As for the rest of the seaon questions, no way I'm giving away the store. I think it's fair tho, to hint that L might have a romantic flirtation with someone other than Ray. -R

InsideR mentioned that they were considering bringing back John Hopkins back as ADA Jason KIte, didn't she? I know Sonny would be bouncin' off the walls if the flirtation was with him.

Hey InsideR I'm excited about that piece of info! Even if it isn't Kite a2z, you are correct, the very thought has me bouncing off the walls! To be honest though I'm not sure it would make sense for that to happen. Remember what she said in The House about 'settling for less ever since.' I don't think she'd go there with him again. Vera is another possiblity after all he is single now!! I highly doubt it will be with Scotty, considering the state of their relationship. I'm pretty open to what they do with Lilly but if she suddendly took an interest in Scotty I would be confused! :smile6: :smile6: I suppose what I'm trying to say is I'll just go with the flow. Because it's the season finale, they will wanna put as much drama and wow moments in as possible so my bets are on someone that we least expect. Now what other males do we know? Stillman? Jeffereis? Gil Sherman? Hmmmmmm, nothings making sense yet! Or could it be someone we don't know yet? :smile6: :smile6: :smile6: :smile6:

This sounds very promising. Thank you very much InsideR.
I don't think we need to worry about Lilly's flirtation being with Scotty. We've been told many times by all different people in the know (including Meredith) that Lilly and Scotty will NEVER get together on this show. Plus, last season's sister drama seemed to be the show's way of putting the nail in the coffin on any future possibility of those two together. Obviously, I could be very wrong, but I don't think we need to worry.

Hey Ju, Sonny & DisasterFreak, Did you folks notice how InsideR misspelled "season"?? See it? See it?? I think that's a big hint that Lilly's flirtation might be with SSScotty. :smile56: :smile21: Ha ha!!! ;D
