InsideR, I would like to know if the script for 'Beautiful Little Fool' was changed at all? I ask this because we had recieved spoilers that revealed it was Ray Lilly was going to call outside the bar and not Kite. Was it changed because of the feedback that Lilly's encounter with Ray received and due to the possibility of Josh Hopkins [Kite] returning to the show?

what do you all think about that call? Is it possible, frankly, that Kite will just ignore it??? To me, I can't see HOW he can not repond to that call...... I'm curious about your opinions :smile79:

I'm sure they'll settle it sometime, not that it means any time soon. We'll be in season 5 and they'll bring up the phone call to Kite again. It'd be good to have Kite back though (and not just to make Sonny happy ).

I hardly think they'd be bringing Kite back as a regular. But I'm sure he could guest star from time to time w/o it being a horrible strain on his busy schedule .

Ok, sorry for the snarkiness, guys. I don't really want him back as a regular as all, but I think it'd be pretty unrealistic if they never addressed that phone call again. I mean, c'mon!!! We understood where she was coming from, but for Kite, it musta been "WTF???"

I DF agree in the sense that he must be wondering where the hell all that came from. I mean they split ages ago.

I do agree with everything a2z said on this issue though. I mean Kite hasn't had a mention since Mindhunter last season and now all of sudden his name has been dropped in again. It could well be the next time we hear his name will be in another year and a half!!

As Season 3 winds down I suppose everyone is hard at work gearing up for Season 4. Without divulging too many secrets, can you let us know:
(1) Anyone new will be added to the cast of regulars? anyone leaving? (including writers,directors and producers)
(2) Will we see more of Meredith Baxter? (she was terrific as Lilly's mom)
(3) Is Meredith Stiehm handing over the reigns to Veena Sud? And if so, does that change the emphasis/direction/format of the show ala "Commander in Chief"?
(4) Does CBS plan to muck up a good thing and move Cold Case from its 8pm Sunday time slot to help out other struggling programs? This may be a good thing if only to avoid the time overruns from late football games.
(5) If you had to give a grade to this season, what would it be?

AFAIK, the cast is stable for now. Some writers are leaving, including Sean Whitesell who wrote the recent Death Penalty: Final Appeal. He is going to work with Paul Haggis on a new series called The Black Donnellys. (Haggis directed Crash). However, Veena Sud will return (taking over many of Meredith's duties) as will Liz Garcia and Andrea Newman.

I hope to see more of Meredith Baxter. She really communicated the "it's not the years, it's the mileage" aspect of Lilly's mom.

Good questions about Meredith S., Veena and direction. I have a hard time believing Meredith will give up her baby entirely, but Veena is surely capable. No idea what changes that might entail.

All the networks have a remarkable ability to not know what they've got when it's working. But I haven't heard anything about a move.

I'd give us an A minus - we did well but we can improve. We had some great stuff, but we also had our usual collection of clinker moments. Surely the aforementioned Death Penalty was a standout. Personally, I didn't love the Rocky Horror episode, but applaud the daring. Other experiments that were more successful were 8 Years (the all-Springsteen ep.) and Willkommen (the Cabaret ep.) though neither were as moving as the more formulaic A Perfect Day (the twin abused girls). I think our last two episodes, The River, and Joseph are both likely to be excellent.

Thanks for the info InsideR. Bummer about Sean Whitesell (he'll always have my gratitude for writing the brilliant "Sherry Darlin'"), but I've heard a lot about that Paul Haggis project and it sounds like an excellent career choice. We wish him all the best. I'm really looking forward to the final three episodes, particularly "Joseph," so it's always good to hear that they are shaping up to be strong outings.

Thanks for all you do for us InsideR. Have a question about how the cast interacts with the writers. I remember in an earlier post you mentioned the actors are sort of in the middle between the producers and the writers. Now with the sustained success of the show, how much input does the regular cast have in how their characters are portrayed? Or do the producers discourage that sort of thing?

Read your little tidbit about the finale. Was just wondering if you could state what mood is put upon between Scotty and Lilly when he goes to see her. In my opinion Scotty and Lilly really have not been working together as partners very much this season. I know the writers don't want them together because it will ruin the show. As a fan of the two I believe they have great chemistry.

We were discussing on the chat last night about the season finale preview. It seems (I haven't seen it yet) that Lilly falls in love with a picture of the victim (Joseph)...
