I think I would agree with michelle and tiger_lilly in that I don't think I can see Lilly bee-bopping around the house. Perhaps we might be thinking more along the lines of Kathryn as opposed to Lilly with that idea. I'd say that perhaps once in a blue moon, when Lilly is in a certain mood, or, say, girlfriend(s) are over for a little get-together, she might get a little bee-bopperish. But, more often than not, I'd have to go with the idea that her music is something she listens to relax to and/or perhaps take her mind off things. Maybe while she's reviewing files, cleaning, just hanging out with the cats, reading, etc. For me, I guess I think of it as something playing in the background (or as TVFan suggested, maybe as she falls asleep at night); I don't think of her types of music as ones to actually have her physically doing anything to except perhaps if she has some sort of exercise/workout mix.

I completely agree with you LillyKat! Except I don't think she has much time to have girlfriends over. But you said it so good. That is exactly how I think Lilly uses music.

I can't speak for everyone else in this thread, but when I wrote "bopping" to the Bee Gee songs, I was totally being facetious. I definitely can't imagine Lilly bopping or dancing or anything else around the house in her spare time. I completely agree with you tiger_lilly, Michelle and LillyKat. In addition to imagining her listening to her iPod while falling asleep, I can also see her listening while she reviews cases at night. Definitely a background thing as I see it.

I was talking to my co-worker this morning, and she was mentioning all the audio books on her iPod. So, I started thinking about this thread ( ;D ) ... in addition to all of our musical suggestions as to what may/may not be on Lilly's iPod, do you think she has any audio books on the player - and if so, which ones? I'll put in a vote for perhaps some Stephen King selections - Lilly isn't afraid of the dark, so perhaps a scary book (or two) would allow her escape from the intensity of her own work. As in, compared to some of the stuff in King's world, it's not all that bad in Homicide. LOL!

LillyKat- I can totally see Lilly listening to Stephen King , but how about a romance book? Well, for me, am not sure Lilly would have a romance novel on the player ... she could, of course (just like she could sneak in ABBA ). But, I have a hard time envisioning Lil' tucked up in bed at night with a Fabio-esque cover version of "Take Me Away" playing in her ears. LOL! However, I don't believe all books on the player would be of the darker, Stephen-King-esque variety ... but no romance novels, though (that's just my thought).

Maybe she listens to some stand up comedies to get her mind off stuff

I can't imagine romance novels either, but I can definitely see her listening to Stephen King or maybe something from John Grisham or Tom Clancy. I could also see her listening to something from Zora Neale Hurston and Alice Walker. Maybe even more dark/tragic authors like Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and William Faulkner. I could totally picture her reading/listening to and enjoying As I Lay Dying (and this is coming from someone who really enjoyed that book despite it's sick/dark tone ).

LOL! sounds like a possibility...she went to the attic alone at night, and so I don't think a fiction book would scare her compared to that night

I could really see Lilly listening to most of The Fray. Almost all of there songs are slow and relaxing, so I could see her listening to them. Here are a few of my top picks from them that I could see her listening to:
"Look After You"
"Vienna"

I def think she listens to Electric President (who are completely my favourite band, but who seem to be nonexistent to everyone...) The song Insomnia especially. It's just very... Well, it's not completely sappy, and it's not total rock or anything. Just soft. (Band website: www.radicalface.com/)As for books, she might go for Mo Hayder and Jeffrey Deaver. Her life seems to be crime, so she may as well read about it, right? And if she's into stephen king, then she'd definitely be into Dean Koontz!
