I don't know , but you really can't tell with lilly I agree, she is expressive in her reactions to things but you can never quite tell what she is thinking. She's a tough character to read, which I think is the whole point to her character. It's like we too are working with her like the guys and they are feeling what we do about not knowing a great deal about her. Bravo to the writers for that. :smile49:

I have an idea she never really had a child. She probably wants one though. But I honestly don't believe she was ever pregnant. That would make her also too much like Sam o WaT, and I don't think JB would allow it. Besides... it's not really Lilly. Yeah, that's what I think as well. Though longislanditalian2 and sonny make a good point, Lilly is tough to read. But I never like it if they put too much drama into one character and I think Lilly's character has already a lot of stuff to deal with. If she would have lost a child or did give into adoption that would be over the top IMO.

Yep, that is what I wanted to say, too and I met some people who saw one ep of CC and said that they would like Lilly as a character if she wasn't so dramatical... I don't think she had a baby. Enough...

I agree with Ewka and Myril. Enough drama already. Let her deal with what she has, which is still not over the top (having a dysfunctional family, getting beat up as a kid because of it, and getting cheated on by a fiancé are all possible things IMO... but if she ALSO gets a life-threatening disease, her house burns down, she had MG's baby and it died, OR her father turns out to be an international spy posing as a normal guy---it'd be too much).

ROFL! :smile21: :smile21: :smile21: :smile21: or what if SHE's the spy, and her two cat's are really her two little elf-helpers in cat-bodies and their only purpose is to take over the world!

Haha. I loved Disaster and sukkerspinn theories... But, on the topic, I don't believe Lil was ever pregnant either. It's hard to explain, but I don't get that feeling from her. And I don't believe she'd ever get an abortion or give her baby for adoption, she just seems like someone who'd do everything to keep her child with her.

I can't imagine Lilly, the champion of those without voices (her "mutant" cats, victims of unsolved cases), would have been pregnant and aborted the baby. It plays to her character that she would champion children and their causes as well, so I just can't imagine that she would have an abortion. IF she has been pregnant, I would imagine that she either gave the child up for adoption or lost the baby (although as others have said, this would be way too much drama). However, neither scenario seems probable to me, so I don't believe that she has ever been pregnant.

Yeah i agree with you TV FAN! I think the whole outburst thing in 'Maternal Insticts' had to do with her childhood more than her actually having a child. Maybe she had a purple foot?

I think she was upset because her mother never provided for HER. Not because she had a child she couldn't provide for. And as she grew up and got more cynical, she refused to ask her mother for anything and that carried over into her later life with her refusing to ask anyone for help since she'd been let down so many times before. I'm almost certain that at least one of her mom's men raped her at some point. And she probably never asked for help from anyone in dealing with that--at the time it happened or at anytime since.

I don't think it has ever been hinted at, but we know that Lilly is very bitter about her upbringing, that she is distant emotionally, that her mother brought home a lot of men--most likely not the best class of men. And there was a scene in Mindhunter, if I remember it right, George said something to her about reading her file and the big secret that she never told anyone.
I could be wrong, and it's something we will probably never know either way, but in my mind, good 'ol mom brought home some scumbag that took a liking to Lilly. I don't think she was a fighter back then, pre-puberty. I think she was timid and starved for affection.
I also think this sounds like I've put WAY too much thought into this. lol.

Meh, it's all good. But i see where you're coming from there. It could be a possibility. In Beautiful Little Fool, Lilly did say that her mom used to bring home men who beat her and stole from her, so you never know.

I've always suspected that as well Michelle. But, the secret that George spoke of was revealed in "The Woods." I won't post it so those who have not seen it can remain unspoiled.

Maybe (and this is my supposing mainly because I'm going to write a fic that kind of follows this lol) Lilly did get pregnant (I'm guessing it was Ray...) and hid it from everyone. She was maybe too young so she lost the baby. I really didn't put that very eloquently, but you get the idea. Then again, maybe she did get raped or something by one of her mother's many boyfriends like michelle suggested. I don't know that it's highly likely that she had a baby and gave it up for adoption or anything... You'd think Chris or her mother might have said something...

@jambled- I have to agree about what you had stated about Lilly being too young and miscarried. To me Lilly wouldn't be the type to give up her own child, not after all she went through.

Yeah, I agree will ya Michelle
One thing I have noticed is when someone like tries to get close to her (like physically walking toward her, not like "moving" toward her heart & feelings), she almost always takes one or two steps back, like she doesn't want to be touched for a certain reason.... that's just a thing I have noticed
