Thanks Ryebeach for the warm welcome!! I'm glad I have another outlet to talk about one of my favorite shows!! I picked the screenname warnerbros because they make the best shows on TV!!
And thanks InsideR for the "inside" tips. I feel like such a geek but production sounds so interesting!! You are very lucky!!
One of my favorite episodes is "Mindhunter"!!! Soooo scary and creepy! Where did they shoot that? Was that in Philadelphia? Does the show shoot there?? The woods part looked like it was on the east coast.
Do you have a favorite director?? I bet Emilo is soooo cool.
Thanks for all your help!!
Mary

Mary The show does occasionally shoot in Philly, but mostly for "landmark" buildings and, now and then, for a neighborhood that's hard to reproduce in LA. Otherwise, So. Cal has just about any environment you need. Emilio is definitely cool, but there are many other outstanding directors who regularly work on the show including the Two Tims: Matheson and Hunter. -R

Hi Insider!!!!
I have to know!! Mindhunter ended like it was going to be continued, are they going to do a sequel??? I can't believe they let him get away. I guess they really didn't have any evidence to arrest him but Veena is my favorite writer this season for sure! How many episodes will there be this season??
Do KM and Meredith collaborate with the story ideas?? They must work very well together. Do any of the other cast members collaborate with Meredith with the story ideas?
Mary ;D

I believe there will be 23 episodes this season. KM contributes more to her character than story ideas per se. This is true of all the actors. Meredith has a posse of very sharp writers for stories. From the outside, KM is the star, but on the inside, the producers are always the stars, or at least the bosses. And there is always friction between labor and management no matter what the undertaking. But, in my opinon, they are both reasonable people. -R

My assumption was always that "MindHunters" would continue next season. I hope that it does. And great news that there may be 23 episodes again this season as opposed to the standard 22 for normal dramas.

Well I certainly think the sequel to Mindhunter would be a great way to end the season or even start the season next year. Will they be bringing back Kevin Bray to direct?? The highest rated show this year was "It's Raining Men" which was written by Jan Oxenberg. Will she be writing anymore this season?? And what about a love interest for KM?? Biggest Cold Case Fan, Mary

InsideR, thank you so much for posting such interesting info! I've seen every episode, and love the show!
A couple of questions:
1) I read somewhere that Kathryn Morris does her own hair for the show. Is that right? If not, who is her hairdresser?
2) I someone wanted to make her hair look like Kathryn's, and ideas how to do it?
3) I heard that directors sometimes intentionally frame interesting or funny items outside the normal TV shot, in the "HD only" area. Ever seen anything like that on Cold Case?

If not, who is her hairdresser? 2) I someone wanted to make her hair look like Kathryn's, and ideas how to do it? 1) KM has her own hairdresser - his name escapes me. I know it was someone else for Season 1. 2) Pull it back in a hurry and tie it up. It's supposed to look rough and no nonsense. Ironically, I'm not sure KM loves her famous do. Maybe she thinks it makes her look dowdy (as if!) In future episodes, look for more variety of KM hair in scenes where she's supposed to be dolled up. As for out-of-frame bonuses - none I know of. But that's not a bad idea... BTW, a little extra trivia: have you ever wondered where they get the names of the dead people on the boxes in the file room? For legal reasons, you can't simply make them up. The supposed victims are all actually crew members on the show. -R

Are there any plans for a late '80s heavy metal themed episode for this season? And in response to the names not being made up for legal reasons. Why not? This is fiction. You can't use names of actual victims and you can't make them up.

You can't use names of actual victims and you can't make them up. There will be more 80s stuff - heavy metal, I don't know. People are lawsuit crazy. If a show uses a name that is the same as a real person's, that person or their family could decide they've been insulted or harmed in some unfathomable way and sue. So all names on all shows (and commercials) are cleared in one way or another. A very simple way is to use employees' names.

Hey, InsideR!
Thanks so much for spending your free time (which I'm sure you must have little of) telling us all these fun things we'd never know otherwise.
And about the names--why don't you tell the writers to use OUR names? I'm pretty sure no one on this forum would sue, and it would be cool to have your name come out on a show you like--even if you ARE the victim.

Hey InsideR! On your profile it say's your location is New York, but if you work on the Cold Case set how does that work? Do you take a plane every morning and night?

Hey InsideR! On your profile it say's your location is New York, but if you work on the Cold Case set how does that work? Do you take a plane every morning and night? Uh...right. I thought that part of the profile was for where you were born, not where you live. I also didn't realize it was public (Dooh!). But, just between you and me, it's not quite right anyway. I don't want it to be too obvious who I am because it might be awkward. And sometimes I may be a little coy about things I know. As it has turned out, I don't think I've revealed much that anyone would be upset about. But...just in case...don't believe eveything you read. -R

Don't know of any new love plans in sight. Scotty and Christa are making thing complicated enough for now. The surest tell is when they hire a guest actor for a recurring episode and it makes the trades. -R
