Ok I wanted to ask something that Tati asked but i don't think was answered: Are people working on the DVDs already? I don't know the answer, but if CC follows the pattern of the other Bruckheimer shows there will one out later this year (after Season 2).

Hello InsideR
I would like to know the status of Josh Hopkins' character (ADA Kite). Unlike Marisol Nichols' character(Alissa), they have not offically written his character out of the show. Is there a possibility the character may return to the show?

Is there a possibility the character may return to the show? As far as I know, the options are still open on Kite. As I understand it, Josh was written out because he was the star of a new show that now appears won't even get on the air. He and Kathryn really "clicked" onscreen (and worked well together) and Josh managed to extricate himself without burning any bridges with Bruckheimer - not an easy maneuver. Maybe Marisol didn't have the same finesse. -R

I'm just curious about something. On the episode guide and list on tvtome there's an episode labeled Wishing (of course it's not under any specific season). It has no synopsis, and the only info it has is title name and a guest star Scout Taylor-Compton (as Leah). Could you tell me the status on that episode?

My guess is that it is an upcoming episode, yet to be announced by CBS. This happens with other shows as well, when an actor (or their reps) submit a guest appearance to tvtome or imdb. They list it but have no where to place it so it is listed as ? or in tvtome's case, 0.

Wishing is indeed an upcoming episode (February I think). It is written by Karen Lewicki and directed by Emilio Estevez (he directed The Sleepover). It takes place in 1992 and is about the death of a mentally retarded teen. -R

Hello InsideR What is the current production time of the show? When do they start and end taping for the current season? It will end sometime in May, the pre-production crew first, then production, then post. Writing for Season three starts in July, shooting in August/September, post in September more or less. -R

InsideR, what can you tell us about the unaired pilot that featured actor Gregg Henry as Walter Deep. I haven't heard much about it. Also is there any truth that in this unaired pilot, the character of Jeffries was played by someone besides Thom Barry?
Thanks

Also is there any truth that in this unaired pilot, the character of Jeffries was played by someone besides Thom Barry? Most of the "unaired" episode was recut into the pilot that did air. Gregg Henry played a character that was supposed to be a nemesis to Rush. He was a judge's nephew who got to be in a position of power unfairly and had lousy judgement and was a general pain, etc. Much like the new boss character on CSI. It's a formula I've always disliked (how many times does McCloud have to save NYC for the captain to appreciate him?) and I'm not sorry to see that the character was dumped. His function was more or less taken by ADA Kite, who was a lot more fun character. This is no way is a slam at Gregg Henry, who is a fine actor. I forget who played the Jeffries role in the earlier version, but Thom was a big improvement. -R

Was Jeffries originally played by a Mel Winkler? --I found an early CBS Cold Case page (from May of 2003) that lists the early actors; here's the list: "Kathryn Morris as Det. Lilly Rush Justin Chambers as Det. Chris Lassing Greg Henry as Det. Walter Deep Jeremy Latchford as Det. Donny Vera John Finn as Lt. Tom Stillman Mel Winkler as Will Jeffries"Here's the link: tinyurl.com/4tr9w(source of the old web page is web.archive.org. ) EDIT: Is this the guy?

Was Jeffries originally played by a Mel Winkler? Is this the guy? Yep. And, btw, some of the function of the Walter Deep role was partly given to Vera. Remember how Lil complains about Vera in the pilot? Originally she was complaining about Deep. -R

Hi InsideR,
Any plans for Season 2 to introduce Lilly's mother to the audience? And if so do they have the character filled with someone well known?

And as there are several vigilant types on this board... I will say that as things come to head between Rush and her sister it sure seems logical. -R

Can't wait for the response!! Mary I feel lucky, too. The people on set have a buffet provided by a service generically called "craft services". Few would characterize it as "gourmet" but it's healthy, edible stuff. In general, it's a very business-like atmosphere. (Not to say some cutting up dosn't occasionally happen...) Everyone works longs hours and people depend on each other to do their jobs well so that it doesn't have to be longer than necessary. Romances are about at common as most work places and can be awkward. They are more likely to happen with someone who is there only temporarily, because, with a regular cast or crew member, if it gets messy you still have to face that person every day. It's not a typical thing (a majority of the people, cast and crew, are married or have partners) but it does happen from time to time. I have a personal life, although my husband - who doesn't work on the show - often complains that I don't. -R
