I just caught an extremely powerful ep last night called "Loss." It was from this past season (Season 5) and it's where we find out what happens to Alex. I'm going to leave space in case others don't know and want to find out themselves. * * * * * * * This was such a moving episode! It really blew me away. I never really think about how powerful these drug cartels can be. It's scary how they can control every part of the justice system. Did anyone else notice that good ole Kite from CC was the DEA agent killed in the car bomb? I was bummed when he died (not Kite, but the DEA agent ). I fell for the "Alex is dead" gimmick - hook. line. and sinker!! At the very end, I was thinking who's in the car? Alex? No, b/c she died. Duh! (slaps head) I totally missed it. I was soooo excited though when she stepped out of that SUV. Now, if we could only get her to come back to the show. I didn't miss her before I watched all of the old eps with her in it. Now, I like her a lot better than Casey. Oh well. This was a VERY strong ep, and probably the reason Mariska was nominated. She did a really nice job.

Oh man! That was my favorite episode ever! I miss her a lot. The new person isn't bad, but there was something about Alex that made her so cool, like the fact that she seemed really nice and sweet but wouldn't take crap from anyone. she rocked! maybe she'll come back some day.

Loss is definitely one of my all time favorite episodes. I watched it already knowing what happened *ugh, spoilers* But it was still really sad. I never expected to see Josh Hopkins in it though. Hadnt heard that part. The part at the end when she stepped out of the car, now that was good. Why though, were there no hugs!?!?! I read an interview w/ March, and she says that's one of the reasons she left the show. Her character never changed. She never smiled, she never got within an inch of anyone else, and no hugs!! I dont think that we'll be seeing her as ADA Cabot, but theres *rumors* that she might play another character... ooooo maybe a perp!! Thats actually the first character that diane neal played on the show, before Casey Novak, a defense lawyer-tunred-perp. And TV and CC, you guys are right. I like Novak, but Cabot's character was just soo much better. Its too bad that it didnt work for March. She is deffinitely missed on the show.

yeah trublu, i remember when casey first came on, i was convinced that she'd been on before and I remembered her being a lawyer, so I assumed that she had been a her same character once before and was just continuing with that role, but then i saw the repeat again a couple months ago and realized that she did play a lawyer, but not the same one. anyway, the thing about that show is that you have to expect that they're wont be ANY hugs. Thats why it works. think about it, with all their near death situations, Elliot and Olivia have never hugged once. That's what seperates this show to one like the x-files. once you start getting to all the hugging and mushy mushy, it wont be svu anymore. i for one am glad... i love that we hardly ever get any personal info... maybe a little bit here and there, but for the most part, its nothing. i do however agree that Alex never really had the chance to develop... i feel like maybe we'll get to see that development in casey, because if you notice, she's already become a better more aggresive lawyer since she first came on. i dont know if id like to see stephanie march come back as anyone else other than alex. i just dont think i could get past the fact that one season she was a lawyer and now shes a criminal

Hmm, yeah, it would be kind of awkward to see her as any one other than Cabot. I mean for goodness sakes, sometimes when im talking about march, ill call her cabot by accident!! *oops* thats the impression that she made on me. ive heard that march is going to do some more movie work, so that will be nice. she's been focusing on theatre up until now (death of a salesman, which i think is coming out or is out on video) and has appeared on Bobby flay's show a couple of times (her fiance) so it would be nice to see her in a movie or sumn. and i see what your saying about the hugs. but still, when one of your close friends is going into witness protection and you dont know when they're coming back, dont you give them a hug? Maybe, after the show has uh, 'run its course' she'll come back for like the last ep or sumn.

TruBlu - I forgot about the no hug thing. I remember thinking while I was watching it the other night, where's the hug? Too funny. I think you're right CC Fan, it's part of the show's appeal. I never thought about the fact that Elliot and Olivia have never hugged. Now, if they did, it would be out of place.
In the current TV Guide "Returning Favorites" issue there's some Season 6 info. Nothing really spoilerish, but go ahead and stop reading (or scroll ahead to next post) if you don't want to know anything about the new season.
**Un-Stabler: Chris Meloni's Det. Elliot Stabler turns "hot, angry, and explosive," says [executive producer Neal] Baer. Emmy bait for sure.**

**Un-Stabler: Chris Meloni's Det. Elliot Stabler turns "hot, angry, and explosive," says [executive producer Neal] Baer. Emmy bait for sure.** Yeah I read that too, which could be good and bad. For the most part, Olivia's been the one who got really emotional, especially last season (remember that episode where those girls had been kidnapped and it was sort of her fault and she was going to quit and Elliot stopped her?) Well, maybe we'll start to see Elliot get really angry. OMG! I loved how in the season finale that woman kissed him! I was laughing so hard! Sorry, I know that was pretty randomn but I just remembered and felt like posting. But I do agree with you guys on the whole hugging thing with Alex. I mean, Olivia was in tears and she didn't hug her, but who knows, that could've been done for a reason. Maybe to show that in the end, they never were really friends.

CC Fan - I forgot about the woman kissing Stabler! That was too funny! I'm still catching up on Season 5 reruns (thank you USA), so I haven't seen the kidnap one, but it sounds good. I'll be sure to see it.

Or maybe they were too good of friends? Hmm... lol i think ive been reading wayyy too many fan fics... um, so back to the topic... I read that thing about "un-stabler" and was like whoa. Because sometimes he really loses his cool, so this must be big fo them to mention it. Lol i dont think i saw the season finale. Didnt remember Stabler getting kissed, imagine his wife wasnt too happy either. lol Thank god for USA is right!! Ive finally seen a couple eps ive been DYING to see. (Loss, Serendipity *casey's first ep* and coerced *casey's second ep*) sry for casey, but she is such a pain in the.... in the first ep. it was hilarious. and then in her second ep, theres a scene w/ her in the batting cages, also hilarious. *doesnt have a bad swing either! i hear that she plays on the side. needs to follow through though...) ;D Premier tonight!!!

I watched it last night b/c I had to TiVo it since the season finale of The Amazing Race was also Tues night (glad that tv conflict is over). Anyway, I thought it was excellent! The twists and turns had me guessing throughout the entire ep. I can't remember another one that had so many twists. When the PI was arrested for violating the judge's order and he showed Stabler and Benson the DNA tests, I was so bewildered! It went to commercial, and I spent the entire commerfcial break trying to figure out what could possibly be going on. I didn't figure it out of course. Great ep. The one next week looks fab as well. This is such a good show!

Wow. this premier really threw me for a loop. I couldnt figure out what was going on until the end. I was a little dissapointed though, by not seeing too much of the doctor. i mean, the whole thing was that it was really his fault because he's the one who gave away the embryos. but other than that awesome. I especially liked the parrt when casey went to elliot for advice. not a lot of people seem to go to him for advice. it was weird though, i didnt catch on that casey was using the solomon story until she was almost done questioning the girl (whose name escapes me right now) I was practically yelling, what are you doing? and then i realized that she was using the solomon story, because she made the kid cry, but didnt stop. Last time she made a kid cry, she atleast stopped (and started to cry herslef might i add. did anyone else catch serendipity the other night on USA?) I could tell that she felt bad after though. And then in comes Olivia, saying that she found three more kids. Amazing. Wolf does an awesome job with this show.

TruBlu - I just realized that she was using the solomon story this very second! Reading your post made me realize it. How dumb can I be? And then my immediate reaction, what is the solomon story? (hides her face in shame) I know Casey and Elliot mentioend it on the b-ball court, but I'm really clueless.

Lol this is where the CCD comes in again... lol the other thread.... hehe
the solomon story is: There was a king named solomon, and supposedly he was a very wise king. So these these two women go to him with baby, and they both claim that it is theirs. One woman's baby had died during the night, and they each said that the other had switched their dead baby for the live one. So they argued so much that solomon decided that the only logical solution was to take a sword and divide the baby in half. one woman told solomon to go ahead, but the other told solomon not to, and to give the baby to the other woman instead of hurting it. So solomon awarded the baby to the second woman because she was the one willing to give up her baby in order to save it.
so basically, casey used the story to prosecute michelle, only she didnt award custody to her, because she wasnt the legal parent. And she tried to kidnapp her *that too!*
noo need for embarrassment TV, it took me like 10 minutes to figure it out. I was sitting in front of the tv trying to figure out why novak was yelling at this innocent kid, and the it dawned on me.

the only reason i figured it out was because i knew casey wouldn't just yell at a little girl like that and then i remembered the conversation she'd had with elliot.

TruBlu - Thanks for your great explaination! See, I knew CCD was a waiste of my time! When Casey first started yelling at that little girl (who by the way was an incredible little actress - WOW!), I was thinking, "man, she's being harsh." Then she kept getting meaner and meaner, and figured she must be trying to get a reaction out of Michelle. Knowing the Solomon story would have been better. I got the impression that Patty's "real" parents knew that Casey was going to do this to her. Otherwise, it would seem unrealistic that they didn't try to stop her. I'm guessing that she spoke with them about her strategy prior to that session in the court room. They looked upset, but not as upset as they probably would have been if they didn't know what Casey was doing. I don't know.

I was wondering why they didnt pipe up. Thats probably it. And i meant to say it the first ten times i posted; that girl was a really great actress. Lol TV, dont get any wrong ideas... i dont actually pay attention in CCD.... i actually got a childrens bible when i was younger, and ever so often i read it. its a lot shorter than the actuall one, so actually it makes good for a little before bed reading I couldn't tell if casey didnt know the story, or if she was confused at elliot's hint, but she had this really confused look on her face after he said "he didnt have to [split the baby]. Was kinda strange. Maybe thats why it took soo long to figure out that she was using the story.

Speaking of this girl being a great actress. i saw some of the promo's for Navy NCIS, and she's in this too. It looks like a good story, even though i dont watch the show.

TruBlu - haha! Too funny about the actually paying attention in CCD! I know what you mean! ;D
Now about last night's ep "Debt," I thought this was another well done story. I loved, loved, loved the part when Olivia told Ricky to "shut up and wait for your lawyer." You go Olivia! Ricky was just evil. I didn't see the twist with the "asylum" lawyer coming. Actually, I forgot about him. Ming Na from ER did a fantastic job.

*Good thing for me, freshmen only need to attend 10 classes for the year, so i only have 7 left. and as a sophmore, only 6, so there is, apparently, a light at the end of the tunnel... haha, light at the end of the tunnel, get it? * Sorry for the lil intro, back to the topic... Last nights episode was great. I didnt see the part with roger, the asylum lawyer, coming either. It was kinda one of those things, that in the back of your mind, you say, "they must have put him in for somthing..." but it doesnt hitt you until they tell you. Thats good writting. The storyline itself i thought was really good. Has anyone noticed... where are munch and fin? and i thought that Ricky was just a slimeball ;D and thats the nicest thing i can say! hehe. when he started toying with novak's mind, i was practically yelling at her "sock him!" i would have loved to see that....
