I searched but couldn't find this topic previously. I think we've mentioned it in other threads, but never had a thread for it alone. Plus, with all the new members it will be nice to see what drew everyone to the show. So, why did you first watch CC?
For me it was a combination of things. I had recently discovered other Bruckheimer shows CSI and Without A Trace over the summer. While watching them, there were a lot of ads for a new Bruckheimer show called Cold Case. I figured I'd check it out because I liked his other shows and this one had the whole history thing going for it (something that interests me). I started watching it and liked it, but wasn't pulled in until about a 1/4 of the way into season one. I really liked Lilly and the fact that the show revolved around her, so I stuck around. So glad I did because the show got better, and now it's my favorite (of course :smile41: )

After I saw the promo's for it, I thought KM looked interesting and I saw that CC was a cop show, so I figured why not give it a shot. What really interested me was that Lilly was the main character, and she was the strong female type, which usually gets me. Like you, TV, took a few episodes before I got really interested in the show, and now its one of my must see's

I didn't see the show from the beginning [although I've caught up now] but I was channel hoping when I noticed Kathryn in particular. I was honestly intrigued by her hair to begin with and watched the episode to try and get a side view of it!!! Anyway I was really impressed with it and instantly liked Lilly so I was kind of hooked from there.

Mine is very straightfoward. I saw KM on an episode of Xena and that's how I knew who she was. I enjoyed the character she played on that series.

I think that's great I think most of you know it by now, but I happened to catch an episode during season 1 after my dad left the t.v. on when '60 Minutes' was through. I've been hooked ever since.

Mine was kind of indirect. Back in late 2003, I didn't like any kind of crime dramas, thought they were all dark, boring, and gross (LOL, how people can change...). So I didn't really care about the promos for CC on my cable channel. However, a couple of weeks after it premiered here (around November 2003) I read on a Yahoo Group for the show "Once & Again" that actor Jeffrey Nordling was going to guest-star on CC's episode "Hubris". Being a huge fan of "O&A", I decided I was going to tune in for that episode. But I was too lazy to check episode listings so I ended up watching "Fly Away". I have a natural tendency to be interested to TV characters with tragic pasts, so after seeing that talk Lilly has with Scotty about her mom (outside the hospital, after visiting Rosie), I was immediately interested in Lil. Then, the ending of the episode left me with my mouth hanging open. From that day on I was hooked. And "Fly Away" remains as my favorite CC episode.

Dear TVFan, Hey, girl! Thanks so much for starting this thread! I will be happy to share my opening Cold Case moment with everyone (sorry to those who have already heard it! ). Well, it was November of last year, and I was tuning in to CBS to watch a reunion of one of my favorite shows: "Dallas: The Return to Southfork." Jock Ewing rules! But anyway, while I was watching the commercials before it began, I saw a preview of an upcoming Cold Case episode. Strangely enough, I do not remember hearing about it previously. But I watched the commercial, and the end of it was what got me. At the end of the previews, it shows Danny and KM walking together in a white room, and KM comes out in front at the end. It was just her stare, that girl had me from that moment on! I thought: "Wow! What a beautiful girl! I will tune in next week to check this out." I did, and I am thankful I did to this day! Thanks for allowing me to share my story, TVFan. Take care, girl! Man, I am fired up tonight! I just heard some awesome tunes in my car on the way home. Elvis Presley's "Burning Love." Hey, girls: "I'm just a hunka, hunka burnin' love...haaa...hunka, hunka burnin' love" (ha! ). I also heard "Hip To Be Square" by Huey Lewis and the News. I LOVE that horn and saxophone solo in the middle of the song! "Here, there, and everywhere - hip, hip, so hip to be square." Ok, I'll put down my karaoke microphone now. Take care, and have a great night, boys and girls!

At first, I wasn't impressed by the promos. I figured I would get to watching an episode at some point but was too busy to watch it. I caught the ending of "A Time to Hate" and thought it was a bit interesting. My dad told me about "Gleen". I believe the first full episode I saw was "Boy in the Box". From there I started watching it. I missed "Disco Inferno" but managed to catch every episode from then on. "A Time to Hate" was the first rerun I saw. Over the summer, I was able to see all episodes except the pilot. So now, I never miss a new episode. However, I've missed a few repeats this summer. So there's my story.

I honestly don't remember the beginnings of my CC obsession too well. I remember there was a JB show I PLANNED to watch and another I refused to pay attention to and it caught me anyway. One of these is CC and the other is WaT. I think CC was planned, because I'd already been watching WaT so I'd come to terms with my new cop show tendency (I was in denial for a long time, :smile21:). I do recall watching the very first episode, and being mildly interested (I did like Lil though, she intrigued me). The ep that REALLY caught me was Fly Away. It stuck in my head for so long I realized I'd just have to watch the show forever :smile34: .

(sorry for my awful english, but I'll try to explain) Well, I think it was March or April of last year. I was at home in a Friday night doing absolutely nothing, so I turned on the tv. In five minutes CC started and I decided to give it a chance. I ended up watching a rerun of "Fly Away". OH MY GOD!!! It was an amazing show and my tears were falling down my cheeks at the end! Poor Rose... I liked Lil too, but the case, wow! Since then, I'm addict to CC.

In late 2003 my mom was watching TV one night, nothing unusual. I was bored and came into the living room to watch with her. Low and behold, she was watching Cold Case. And it just happened to be "A Time To Hate", which is arguably the best episode of Cold Case to date. The episode nearly had me in tears at the end and, needless to say, I became hooked after that.

On the night of the first season finale, I didn't want to do my biology homework, so I sat down on the couch and started flipping channels on the tv. Cold Case (actually Lilly) caught my attention, and I've been watching ever since.

Great topic TVFan. I vividly remember watching the previews for Cold Case back in late summer 2003 and while it looked fairly intriguing, I was never much for procedurals and cop shows. The only one I watched regularly was CSI:Miami, mainly because I love the city of Miami. The premiere date came and I forgot about it totally or made an unconscious decision not to watch it but as I was flipping through the channels, I heard a vaguely familiar song set to a rain soaked couple of scenes. At first I thought the slow-motion being used was for some type of commercial and/or music video but then I recognized KM from the earlier promos and realized I was watching the final scenes of the pilot of Cold Case. It hooked me then and there although I did not start watching the show regularly until A Time to Hate, which is still my all time favorite episode.

Last summer I was peeved coz a station here was messing up the last Xena season (it still didn't completely aired here). I decided to avoid that station in the future and looked more into what other channels had to offer. By chance I saw an ad for a new crime show named Cold Case. As Naj I knew and liked KM from her appearance on Xena and got curious. The new show seemed to be different and interesting, so I switched on for the first episode. After ten minutes or so I was even more intrigued, the end sequenze blew me away and with the second episode I was hooked.

I didn't start watching Cold Case until the 2nd season (I've caught up now). I normally don't watch cop shows, but I was intrigued by Kathryn Morris and her character being the lead detective. The episode that really hooked me was "Who's Your Daddy." The music and the ending montage in that ep was so good, I haven't stopped watching since.

I started watching CC about one year ago as it started here in germany. I have seen some ads for CC and I thought this could be interesting so I watched the first ep and now I am totally addicted to it.
