A few days ago it became offical that 'Cold Case' would be returning for another season. What would you like to see in Season 3?

As always i want to see a little of the Detective's personal lives.. not so much that it will overrun the cases, but enough to keep them in touch with the show. I think what else we see next season is going to depend on what happens in "The Woods".

* How Lilly handles the killing of George. Or is George really dead?
* James Hogan and what is Lilly writing to him.
* Is Christina coming back or is she on the run.
* Where's Lilly's mom?
* What is really buggin Lilly from her past and why is she hurting so much.
* Are they ever going to make a reference to where Kite is and why Lilly has no need to go get his approval on cases.
*Anymore Thursday nights with the gang at the bar.
* Will we get to see what cars the detectives drive in their off time.

I agree with ALL Naj's suggestions--especially how she handles the aftermath of The Woods. Although I'm very skeptical about the Powers That Be letting us have it--it's too good to be true. About Lilly's mom, I'd like to HEAR more about her, but I don't wanna meet her yet. And I'm pretty sure Chris will have something to say for herself at some point.
My suggestions:
* Find out more about Jeffries. Who does he live with? Where's the rest of his family? What happened to his wife?
* Meet Stillman's wife, get a good fight in edgewise (but only one episode, I don't want it to take over the show). I wouldn't mind seeing him get along with his daughter either.
* Hear more about Vera and how he handles his wife problem
*Not for next season (it'd be too soon), but I would eventually like to see Lilly getting some closure about this 49 thing. It'd be great if she could run into her attacker, but that might be too much suffering for her. Anyway, the point would be getting him caught and put away--or done away, whichever works best ;D. And I'd kinda like to see the others' reaction to this 49.

Here are some things I'd like to see in Season 3.
1. A late 1980s heavy metal themed episode. 2. An episode centered around American Bandstand. 3. An official explanation of where Kite went. 4. James Hogan gets out of prison at the same time Mark Adams' (Lover's Lane) divorce from his wife is final. Lily must choose between a guy who has the wrong idea, or a guy who sees his dead girlfriend in Lily. 5. Christina is guilty of what that detective said she did. 6. Meet Lily's mother. 7. No issues for Scotty this season. Been there done that. 8. A case from the 1920s. 9. Discover that a previously solved cold case was not really solved. 10. A better premiere. 11. Less accidental and non-direct deaths. 12. Better closing songs. This season stunk.

Okay, here's my list:
- This is just begging to be covered R2K. I mean, the show was in Philly. I would love to see a Cold Case ep centered around Bandstand. Now that the wonderful American Dreams is off the air, I wonder if it makes the possibility more of a reality.
- Like everyone else, I am hoping to see the fallout from Lilly's actions in "The Woods." As far as we know, this is the first time she has killed anyone. I know Lil is strong, but this had to get to her. I want to see how it affects her. Plus, it would give Kathryn some more great material.
- I would like to learn more about Lilly's mother and father. We know very little about them both. Is her father even alive? Did he abandon the family? Does Lil speak with her mother at all? So many questions, and I'm dying to know the answers.
- A love interest for Lilly. I know this was planned for this season, but didn't pan out. I'm hoping they bring back the idea for next season. I would like to see her in a meaningful, solid relationship. One where she can grow and slowly learn to trust again with someone who is good for her.
- I would like to see the case:personal information ratio stay the same. We learned a lot about the detectives this season, and it was doled out in pieces. I like the formula.
- More Lilly centered episodes like "The Woods." It was nice to have an entire episode centered around her character, and it made me long for the first half of season one. It would be nice to have several next season that do the same.
That's all (for now). Overall, I think the show is on the right track, and I'm excited to see what season three brings.

Lilly be changed... She can be in a little shock- she kill a first time in her life (!) maybe she do somethig in case about Chrisy- maybe she'll finde her and help her maybe she help her mother... (I want see her mother!) and ofcourse... Lil must finde a guy, boyfriend who can help HER with her past (I hope it will be Scotty- he was realy scare about her when he was talking with George in cell phone) she need some rest- she always work, job is her life... it'snot good (!) and she need talk with her past with somebody. she need show all her feelings and fears. Lil need a comfort. maybe in The Woods we doesn't hear all information about 49 (I think), and maybe we can know what was realy happend (I think she was molested or rape. Beat is not so terrible like she was show in attic. she can't cry only about beat up. I think, shenot say everything about her past. George ask her about 'touche her secret place'- she not answer, she was scare the answer so I think she was rape or molested).
OK... what do you think about this?

My wishes, so far:
- Meet Lilly's mother OR father (but only at the end of the season, because season 2 had too much family drama)
- Learn what happened to Jeffries' wife
- More cases from the 60's
- An unsolved case that Lilly investigated before she started working cold cases is reopened
- Learn the name of Lilly's white cat ( I'm dying of curiosity since season 1)
- Meet someone from Lilly's past, non-family - an old friend, an old co-worker, etc
- Find out if Christina was guilty of that credit card fraud (but without her showing up)
- Some info about how Lilly is dealing / dealt with killing George. I don't need to see her going to a shrink, just wanted to know if she went; did Stillman have to make her go, is she still going, etc.
- a new love interest for Lilly (I like her as a single gal, but last year was so stressful for her, I think she needs a little fun)

I agree with all your ideas Tati, they're great. I would also like to see a christmassy episode as I'd love to know how they all spend christmas. Lilly seems to have no friends or family so what does she do?

I've always wanted to see more episodes that take place in the early 90's and are heavy on the fads of that time . I also want to see more episodes that deal with teenagers and high school/junior high. Another 1940's episode would be great. I, too, would like to find out more about Jeffries and what happened to his wife.

*Has to be some follow up from The Woods - what actually happened to Lilly when she was 10? How did she get away? How badly was she hurt? How many people know about it? How will Lilly deal with killing George - if he is dead??!!
*Some kind of progression in Scotty and Lilly's relationship, I'm not necessarily talking about them getting together but some unresolved sexual tension and angst between 2 characters on a show is always compulsive viewing - think Mulder/Scully, Sam/Jack (Stargate SG1), etc. And why was Lilly so upset about Scotty and Chris's relationship? Personally i think there was more to it than simply professional concern??!!
*More 'Lilly in peril' stories, don't mean to sound like a psycho but again it makes for compulsive and edge of seat viewing as in 'The Woods'.
* More characterisation of the main characters, especially Lilly, she is so secretive but we all know she's also so damaged, where is her mother now?
I have to say that although i love Lilly's character and especially love episodes based around her, the show is so well written that all episodes are fantastic - let's hope this continues!

gee... umm... i think you guys have covered everything i can think of so ill repeat
-more Lilly-in-peril storys or any of the team in peril, as Naj said- it makes a great episode but dont use it to often
-a romance for Lilly (i think everyone wants this, Kathryn Morris included)
-full details about Lillys 49, not all at once though
-Lilly copeing with killing someone
-more episodes like Ravage (using Lilly as bait) Mindhunters (suspect getting under the detectives skins) Sherry darlin (murderer calling it in and giving info for some unknown reason that is explained as we go along) Fly Away (we are all dying to know about Lilly's past but dont rush it)
hmm... ill try and come up with more later ;D

I don't have any real original ideas to add to this thread. But, here it goes anyway.
* I think we NEED to see some sort of reaction from Lil and possibly the "guys" about what happened in 'The Woods'. I will be very disappointed if the premiere airs, and nothing is said about it at all. I really want to see how she's dealing with her first kill.
* Naj, you said you'd like to see an end montage set to "The Streets of Philadelphia", and I couldn't agree more. I think it would make a great end song.
* an American Bandstand episode would be amazing. And I can see someone being able to come up with some real creative case surrounding it.
* I like the personal drama. But I don't want it to overshadow the cases. It hasn't yet, I just don't want it to start to. I want to learn a little bit more about Lily and her past, and her parents. But, just a little. I kind of like the mystery. I wouldn' t want to know everything.
* I think I'd like to see one episode where Scotty can move past Elissa's death. I don't mean have him open her case or anything, but maybe have him just accept the fact that she killed herself. He was still is somewhat of a denial at the end of last season. (Then again, what if she didn't kill herself?)
* Jeffries. I love that character. I want to find out a little bit more about him. What happened with his family? Does he live alone??
* R2K mentioned having them realize a case they "solved" wasn't really solved. That would really cool. It would be interesting to see how each character would respond to something like that.
* And I'd like to find out that Chris really was guilty for whatever it was she was being charged with (was it credit card fraud?)
* More Lily-centric episodes. She's my favorite character, and I LOVE the episodes that focus on her.
* Finally, I'd like to see Lil have a romance. Not a one night stand kind of thing, but a real romance. She deserves it! And preferably, no one she works with at all. Been there, done that.
Okay, so, I guess I've got a lot of hopes for season 3. Just like I did for season 2. But, I don't think I need to worry. Whatever Meredith and co. decide to do, will most likely make me very happy.
I'm not really that hard to please (really, I'm not! haha), just give me some good, interesting, heart wrenching cases, with a little sprinkle of personal drama, and I'll be happy.

Shorty-
When you say the team discovering that they put the wrong person away, do you mean for a a case that we are familiar with already, or a new case that has never been mentioned on the show?

I just thought of something... I know the whole Lilly romance didn't work out this past season because of a lack of chemistry, so why not cast someone who has great chemistry with Kathryn? (as you all can tell, I would love to have a Lilly romance this coming season :smile41:) What about Salvator Xuereb? I know, I know I've brought him up before, but as a guest star. Now I'm thinking he would make a great love interest for Lilly. He and Kathryn had awesome chemistry together in Pensacola: Wings of Gold. It would be neat to see them together in the same capacity again. :smile8:

I thought of something else that I would like to see next season. Remember the scene in "Love Conquers Al" where the team was sitting around writing "love letters" that Paige supposedly sent to Bennett? I LOVED that scene. It was an instant classic. One of the elements that made this scene so great was Lilly. She was hysterical! I want more of that Lilly back. I know she had a rough season, so she wasn't her feisty first season self, but I'm hoping the writers bring that back now that she has overcome/resolved the mess with Scotty. It wasn't just the lines that were great, it was the way Kathryn gave Lilly a playful, fun edge.
What do you guys think?
