Tell us...the title and your opinion about it.
Let's help each other not to miss the good movies and avoid the horrible ones. :smile76:
(Let's avoid spoilers, but it absolutely necessary to give your opinion, leave a spoiler space).
Mine was Madagascar. Funny, but too much child-like for me. Not sure if I'm making any sense, but it seemed like it was made for kids less than 5 years old (and I usually enjoy all kinds of cartoons and animated movies). The cause of this could be (highlight for spoiler) the fact that story has no villains.

The last movie I saw was The Island. Pretty good summer flick. Good action, although a bit cheesy at times. Made me go "yeah, right" on several occasions. And I don't know if I cared about the characters that much. Overall, I would give it a C, but it's worth seeing on the big screen, I guess.
The other one I just saw was Wedding Crashers. I really enjoyed that more than I thought I would. It was cute and funny and I'm probably going to buy it when it comes out on DVD.

The last one I saw was Dark Water. I really liked this movie. It was not scary, but it had its creepy moments. It was a solid story that really focused on the emotional and psychological state of Jennifer Connelly's character. It was beautifully shot and just overall well done. Jennifer Connelly did a fabulous job. Definitely a :smile39: from me.

The last movie I saw was War of the Worlds. Fun to watch on the big screen, special effects were pretty flawless, but the idea has been overdone. Even knowing came first, since I've seen all the ones that came after it, it just doesn't strike me anymore. Good acting from Dakota Fanning.

The last movie I saw was Million Dollar Baby. It was amazing. Hilary Swank, Morgan Freeman, and Clint Eastwood all did a great job in their roles. Especially Hilary Swank. Her character was just so darn likeable, that you couldn't help but root for her. So, anyway, I would most certainly recommend this movie. The plot was great (although, the boxing thing thing has been done before many times), and the characters were so well developed. :smile39: I actually watched it three times in a row while I was bed-ridden, and I didn't get sick of it.

Last movie I saw in theaters was Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. It was kind of a chick flick, but the guys might still enjoy it. I thought it was a great movie, some very convincing acting by all the young actresses involved in it.
I dont see many movies in theaters though, I usually wait for it to come out on DVD.

Loved that movie Trublu. Reading the book kind of ruined the movie for me a little, but I still loved the movie.

I love this kind of futuristic stories, so I enjoyed it, but some parts were way unrealistic, like V said. Also, it had some scenes and facts that seemed to be copied of Matrix, which annoyed me because Matrix is one of my favorite movies. Again, like V said it had some cheesy moments (the end made me laugh...).

I know this is slightly off-topic, but has anyone heard of a movie called something along the lines of "M, the vampire of Düsseldorf (sp?)"? It seems to have been made in the 20s and my diploma teacher said it had some really good demented-psycho scenes. Anyone familiar with it or know who the director is?

Disaster, it seems to be this movie from 1931: "M". Also, M's IMDB page. I hope that helps.

Thanks, Tati!! Sorry, I sometimes forget IMDB exists *bangs head on desk*.
EDITED TO ADD: Whoops, forgot to mention the last movie I watched. I've just finished watching a dvd of A Streetcar Named Desire (please forgive if the name doesn't match, I'm translating it directly from spanish). Really good movie, though I couldn't stomach any of the characters at first and all that screaming really stressed me out. I couldn't watch it with my full attention, it made me mad! LOL. But it was really good and powerful, kinda slow, but definitely worth watching. A classic.

I just saw another movie yesterday, Sky High. (Yeah, its another PG movie, but we have to see movies that the kiddies can watch too ) Actually, it was pretty good. There were a decent amount of jokes in the movie, and actually, now that i think of it, it was in some ways a coming of age movie. ;D In a weird sort of way. I would definitely recommend it.

Thanks trublu, I've been going back and forth as to if I should see this movie or not. I'm a fan of Kurt Russell and Michael Angarano but it is a Disney movie and I'm pretty old now although I suppose, no matter our age, we're all kids at heart. At least that's what the Disney folks say. I may go see it tomorrow.

I saw two recently:
1. Must Love Dogs with Diane Lane and John Cusack. It was sooo cute and not your typical romantic comedy (although I'm a sucker for those! ;D).
2. Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson. This was creepy and it had a twist at the end. Plus, it kept me guessing the whole time. Very well down. I especially liked the Bayou setting.

TVFan, I saw that one, too, and thought it was good. Not as scary as I would have liked, but the ending was great. I'm ashamed to have to admit that I saw Deuce Bigalow. It was one of the worst movies ever. Some movies should not have sequels. Not funny at all. Just painful. If you must see it, rent it. I'm going to see Red Eye tonight. I hope it's good.

I agree V about the scary-ness factor. I thought it was going to be really scary, but it ended up being really creepy instead. You'll have to let us know about Red Eye. I really want to see that one!

I saw The 40 Year Old Virgin this weekend. I really had no interest in seeing it, but I was with a group of people who did. It was VERY crude, but definitely funny. I guess underneath all that crudeness was a pretty good story and message.

Hey TV -- Red Eye was pretty good. I was definitely entertained. The acting was good (I really like Rachel McAdams) and the story wasn't bad. It was a pretty short movie and did a good job in maintaining the suspense.
