Anyone watch the premiere last night. It was pretty good, kind of a rip off of The X-Files, but still pretty good.

I watched the premiere last night but it reminded me more of the miniseries Taken than the X-Files, mostly because in both cases people know that something exists instead of just one person knowing what's going on, and both shows contain a blonde girl who is so much more calm and wise compared to the adults surrounding her.
The Homeland Security agents in this show don't have the chemistry between Mulder and Scully. The viewer sees how "the 4400" try to catch up with their lives, how they deal with their emotions when they fail. To me, those are two factors completely different from the X-Files; in XF the abductees were almost some sort of props to deepen Mulder's belief in extraterrestrial life instead of their own characters.
Overall, I like this show and I'll watch the next couple episodes to see where this is going; hopefully it will turn out to be of its own class instead of a ripoff of the X-Files (okay, it's been 2 years and I still can't stand the thought... "a show the magnitue of the X-Files"... okay, I'll shut up).

Yeah, I never watched Taken, so the whole Alien thing was what reminded me of the x-files. Nothing will ever be as great as that show and I sooooooooooo hope they make a second movie, I've been collecting all these quotes from DD and GA and CC about a second movie, and it looks hopefull. yeah, I'm a dork. lol.

I watched the premiere and I'm totally hooked. Then again, I was a big X-Files Fan too. I heard that this show only runs into the beginning of August (maybe 5 eps?). I think it's going to be really good.

This show keeps getting better. It's very interesting how each time one of the 4400 does something good with their special powers, they end up dead shortly after. Did anyone else notice that the girl who's playing Lily, Laura Allen, was the murdered intern in "Late Returns" on CC? Her character's storyline is my favorite.

Bummer - next week's the finale! I've really enjoyed this mini-show. I have more questions than answers though, so I hope they clear them all up next week!

I knew i recognized Laura Allen from somewhere. I missed an episode, so im a little behind, but they are marathoning all day on the 8th untill the last episode. I didnt realized the series was so short either. Hopefully the finale will clear up some things!

Anyone figure it out b/f we found out what was going on? I was stumped. I had my theories, but none of them included people from the future trying to ensure the futility of the human race. Very interesting twist! I'm glad that was the solution and not the alien thing (too predictable). They definitely left it open ended enough that they could turn it into a series. I keep hearing rumors from TV insiders (stuff I read) that USA plans to do just that. I hope they do b/c I still have some questions. Anybody have any theories on why the trees bent at the end? I'm stumped!

Yeah, TVFan, the trees stumped me. I hope they turn it into a series, although, that would mean another thing that i would have to tape!! arg. I liked the direction that they went with it, with it being human intervention and not the predictable alien ubduction. With the human intervention, it makes sense why they brought them back, but if it had been an alien thing, i cant seem to think of a good reason.

Hey guys! So, I finally finished watching the episodes and I'm not sure what to think. On the one hand, I really liked it and I thought the ending was good (that it wasn't aliens but humans in the future) but I feel like 4 episodes just wasn't enough, and I felt sort of like it ended way to fast.
I'm really hoping they turn it into a series because I'd love to learn more about the 4400 and I'd love to learn more about what happens with the two detectives. Especially the son and stuff.

I agree CC Fan. It felt like a series as it was progressing, but then it just ended somewhat abruptly. I've been hearing that if the it does return, it won't be until next year. I guess we have a long wait to find out how the story continues.

Yeah, well, I don't mind the wait. I wonder if it would be on cable or if they would move it to a prime time slot. I think it would be an interesting show, however, it might get old after a while (that is, if each episode consists of them investigating a member of the 4400.)

Yeah I know what you mean. I wonder how they would do a series. I guess they would have to deal with the knowledge that they have now. Maybe the show would focus more on how the people from the future are ensuring that the human race survives. I'd like to know how bringing back a serial killer worked to their advantage. I have a lot of questions, so even if it came back as another limited series next summer, I would be happy.

I read in the TV Guide that they are planning to renew the series for an unlimited run, under the "Cheers and Jeers" section. It doesnt give any more info than that though. It should be interesting, since they basically left everything wide open.

USA announced a 13 episode order starting next June according to TVGuide.com. Here's a link to who's coming back and who might not from Zap2it.com: The 4400 Returns!

Anyone keeping up with the new season? It's really interesting and very x-files esque... I'm loving the format, where we learn about a new returnee each episode, it keeps it interesting and I'm glad that we still don't really understand them.

I'm loving it as well CC Fan! It's so nice to have original programming for the summer. I haven't watched this past Sunday's ep yet, but the others have all been very strong. It definitely reminds me more of The X-Files this summer. Love it!

Last weeks episode was really interesting... I felt so bad for the teacher, who was only trying to help.
