Oh thanks for the good news ! I don't think we'll see that guy at the end again. I thought it was just a cool thing they did because it was the end of the finale. But I could be wrong ofcourse. And I think he was definitely looking at us, the audience. You are right about the goodbye scene. Soooo emotional and I was thinking that they almost seem like a couple . They would be pretty good together.

They would, and I don't know why I think it would be OK on this show and not on others. I'm not dying for them to get together or anything, but I think if they did sometime down the road, they would be really cute together. I guess it's just the fact that they have such a wonderful friendship.

I guess it's just the fact that they have such a wonderful friendship. You are right, for some reason it would be fine if they got together. They act so naturally well together. Maybe because they are really good friends in real life? But I really don't think it will ever happen. I think Alana would have to either die, cheat on Thomas or become an evil 4400-person

Of course, she was taken by the future in the season finale, so I suppose anything is possible. From JM in a recent article regarding a Tom/Diana relationship: I didn't know. You never presume anything, and I was just happy to have a job, to be honest! But I did know that Ira and Scott have always been adamant that Tom and Diana will never be together… Ever. And then when we were at Comic-Con this year, they questioned Ira just about that, and he said, it's interesting, because now that we've been growing with these characters as writers and as actors together, the characters have taken different directions, in a really organic way. And because of that, it's opened up the possibilities for story. I gave you an example of that with Kevin and Tess, now that they are operating their petrified tree stump gas station! I love that so much. You know, "The Ballad of Kevin and Tess" was a beautiful episode. Anyway, so [Ira] said that anything's possible, which… Joel and I nearly fell of our chairs at that point. And that's not to say that it will happen at all, because I think over my dead body or over Scott Peter's dead body, but we just never know. She also explains why she doesn't want them together: If they were to team up romantically, then what does it become? Then they've got to be bickering at work and doing all those kind of things that you normally see with couples. It becomes about them and not about The 4400 and not about the ripple effect. I think work would stop somehow. And I love the fact that they have had this friendship that's been building and building, so the relationship is getting stronger on a platonic level. He has taught her so much; he's really opened her up in ways that perhaps wouldn't be possible if they were romantically together. Just be kind of being completely consistent in trusting his instincts, which he does. And regarding their real-life friendship, she tells a hilarious story about the two of them trying to film a promotion for Sky TV: And Joel and I are dreadful together, because we know each other so well now, so if we see something that's slightly out of place or if I make a mistake with my lines, for some reason I always look straight to Joel and lean in, as if to say, "Did you hear that?!" And he always just goes, "What are you looking at me for?", and we're at a bit of a loss. The 4400 shows on Sky TV in England. And their company went away for some kind of working [retreat], so they asked Joel and I to stand up in front of the cameras and say, "Hey, we hope you have a great holiday," and do this [bit]; the two of us, side by side, reading to the camera. We had these cue cards to read from, Joel had his and they'd hold up mine. We could not stop laughing! It was so bad… They kept the cameras rolling, and we did 25 minutes of this! The crew were doubled over. The camera's shaking, because the guy with the camera could no longer hold it. It was just outrageous. I hope they played the whole thing for them. And we have no idea why we went off… Oh, that's right, I think the thing was I could see Joel in the lens of the camera, and he could see me, because we had to do it straight down the lens. And as actors, you never have to do that. God, it was just a nightmare. So Joel and I are dreadful; we go up a lot. But when Billy Campbell's in the mix, it's over!

Thanks for posting all that! I can totally see why they shouldn't be together, and agree with her view on it all. But I guess the writers are considering the possibility . I really doubt it will happen though. But you are right, I totally forgot about Alana's abduction at the end! That is so funny with the promotion bit! I wish we were able to see the whole 25 minutes . It's great that they have such a good relationship off camera . Thanks for posting those pictures too. They all look great! JM looks sooo pretty . I haven't been following up on the Emmy's. Did the show win anything?

As far as I know the show wasn't nominated for anything. The cast just went to th BAFTA Tea Party thing the day before and then an after party the night of. Yeah, she looks great (especially in the BAFTA pics)! Her look in these pics is such a departure from her Diana look every week.

Yeah, she looks great (especially in the BAFTA pics)! Her look in these pics is such a departure from her Diana look every week. I was thinking the exact same thing! Her look on the show seems a bit monotonous. It's good to see her in something else .

Totally. I think it's the whole Lilly Rush idea. These are working women who are very busy and don't have a lot of time to focus on their appearance before they walk out the door in the morning. I like the authenticity to it as opposed to the crime shows where the women are wearing skimpy outfits, loads of make-up and their hair ALWAYS looks good. That bugs. I appreciate Diana and Lilly's real-ness.

I agree. And then it's so nice to see when they dress up like when Diana goes and meets "her man" (darn, I can never remember his name) at the art exhibition. Or when Lilly dressed up for her mom's wedding in BLF .

Oh yeah, I love those types of scenes as well. It's fun to see our fave characters play dress up.
Just a side note, but I got a MySpace bulletin from JM today sending out her condolences to Steve Irwin's family and friends. She was quite stunned and upset to learn about his death.

Yeah, I got that too . I really like her songs in there. I wish she would blog though, but I guess we have to go to her website for that.

You're a "friend" too? Yeah, I really like her music too. I don't remember "Shy Baby" in last season's finale, but I know I never imagined that it was her singing when I heard it. She should definitely release an album. Her music is different and really deep. Have you read her "blog" entries on her site? Granted, I haven't read a lot of "celebrity blogs," but her entries are the most informal laid-back entries that I have ever read. I've also discovered that there are a lot of Australian words that we don't have in the US. The one about having Joel pick her up for their wrap party and she was still in cutoffs! She cracks me up!

Yeah, I'm a friend too . I didn't know her song was in the finale. Cool! I did read the blog on her site and you're right she seems so nice and very informal. It's almost as if you're a friend of hers because she's writing it as if we know her . It's good to hear that she is more relaxed now and finds time to do lots of things she's been missing while shooting The 4400. I didn't see the thing about Joel picking her up though, where did you see that? The latest entry is from the 23rd of August, right? But I think you are more updated and read more stuff related to the show than me .

Yeah, that's the most recent. The one I'm talking about is from July 15th and it's called "Hi everyone and welcome back." It's hilarious! You're right about the way she writes those entries - it's just like she's talking to her friends.

Thanks for telling me which entry it was. I didn't read it all yet as you can see. But I just went over some more and that one where she describes her first experience at the theatre just blew me away. That is exactly why I have always loved going to the theatre and still do. I can't believe she also went to a ABBA koncert when she was a child, cool parents . I just keep loving the way she writes, she is cracking me up all the time ;D.

That theater entry is really cool. My parents took me to see a couple of shows when I was younger, but they definitely didn't take me to any concerts, so I'll second your "cool parents" comment. That theater entry speaks to why she has done so much theater work and smaller, arthouse films.

I saw her in this movie once Under The Lighthouse DancingBut it was a while ago and at the time I didn't know her that well, so the focus was mainly on Naomi Watts. But it was an ok movie. Not really arthouse though or anything fancy, as far as I remember. It doesn't seem like she has any other projects than The 4400 at the moment. Hopefully she'll find the time to do a new film soon.

I saw that film as well. I really liked it because it was about celebrating life and living each day to its fullest -- something I know I tend to forget to do because I get so wrapped up in the daily stresses.
