I've seen someone or a few people with banners on their signatures for this board on some of the Xena boards so I was wondering where are these xenites? Actually, that is how I found this board. ;D
Anyone else initially start watching Cold Case because of the whole "Whoa! That's Najara!" thing?

Hello Kristen, That answer would be 'yes' for me. We Xenites have to support Najara! (even tho she is tagged a kook in that episode) We have some xenites registered here that I know of around the internet. Since then I've seen her in the first season reruns of Pensacola: Wings of Gold. I liked it. And now, of course, Cold Case! ~Naj

Hey Naj! Very cool! I have always disliked Najara, but I have grown to love her the more I watch the episodes. Plus I just really like Kathryn Morris. I haven't seen her in anything else yet. This whole thing is making me want to go watch "The Convert"

Crusader is coming up on Oxygen on Feb 23-if it hasn't changed. However I do have Season 4 on WHS! I have several quotes on hand from ole Najara. There are a few doozies in here that I just love: X: "The Jinn." Naj: "Yes, they're my guides through life." G: "Are they spirits?" Naj: "They're the Jinn-- that's all I know. I'd love to stay and talk more to you, but I know my men are anxious to move. Bonacar! I hope you find what you're looking for. Once again-- please forgive us. It was an honest mistake. Chk-chk."
Naj: "Forgive those people-- they're confused and misguided. Don't let hatred poison your hearts. Now go to your homes, and live good lives.
Naj: "You fight for good. What other path is there?"
Naj: "You're slave traders. What shall I do with you? I'll tell you what I _want_ to do. I want to forgive you-- and love you all as brothers-- but I can't do that unless you turn to the light. And there's no reason why you can't. We'll be glad to initiate you into the way. Just let the light in-- and the darkness will be gone."
Naj: "What hearing or trial did these men here the people they were going to enslave? In order for good to triumph, we must eradicate evil. I always give evildoers a chance-- to turn to the light-- but if they refuse or I sense their conversion isn't sincere-- I send them to look onto the light."
Naj: "In the name of the light! I smite the darkness!"
Naj: "What should I do with those slave traders, Gabrielle? What would Xena do?" G: "She would make sure they were out of business. She would turn them over to the local government." Naj: "But what if the local government supports slavery? Probably not a problem, because Xena kills most of them in combat, anyway." G: "Xena only kills if it's absolutely necessary." Naj: "And I only kill evil people-- why is she better than me?" G: "Don't you think those people deserve a fair trial?" Naj: "But some fool may find them innocent." G: "But with _your_ way, innocent people could die." Naj: "You're right, Gabrielle. I'm sure I've made mistakes, before. But, all I've done is send them to the light. The eternal powers will correct any mistakes I've made."
G: "The soldiers say that you wiped out a village last year-- and many innocent people died." Naj: "They lied." X: "Could be a bit of a problem." Naj: "Those men were pirates. They sunk many passenger ships for sport. They had to die. But you believe what you want, Gabirelle. Be happy." X: "Well, these people aren't your biggest fans." Naj: "Can't please everybody."
X: "Did you tell her about the vision?" Naj: "No. That would hurt her-- and I don't ever want to do that. That's your job" ;D
G: "And what have you been doing?" Naj: "Planting crops-- helping harvest-- mending clothes-- working towards the day the jinn said would come-- the day you and I would meet again-- united in a common bond-- not even Xena shares." G: "The jinn said that?" Naj: "We walk the same path, Gabrielle. Our lives are dedicated to defeating evil-- by promoting peace. It's our way-- the way Eli taught us [Whispers]-- a reverence-- for life. [Normal Voice] Stray from that path-- whatever the reason-- the consequences could be devastating for everyone."
Naj: "It's OK-- really. Xena's just being true to her way. But if she thinks I'm going anywhere now that I've found you and our path-- she's crazy. Good night, Gabrielle."
Naj: "You forget-- hurting Gabrielle is _your_ job. Or have those visions gone away? You know, the visions of your death _and_ hers? I wanna share a life of peace with Gabrielle. You wanna share a violent death. You tell _me_ who's the villain here-- me or you."

Oh wow. When she said all that to Xena about hurting Gabrielle, I was like "Ouch!" I am a huge subtexter so Najara really tiffed me off, but I love Callisto so ...yeah. ;D
Great quotes. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Kristen!
*waves arms wildly* [glow=red,2,300]Yes.[/glow]
I admit it.
But now I'm completely hooked on Cold Case FOR Cold Case and Kathryn Morris' portrayal of the compassionate and intelligent (ok, so she's cute too) detective.
It's funny... KM was Najara for two episodes and yet she left such a mark on the Xenaverse!!
1. She just about kicked Xena's butt a few times - as only Callisto and Alti have done. Yet she was very much human being, while they were goddesses/shamans/magical in nature.
2. She almost won over Gabrielle and took her away from the warrior princess - as no one else had done before. Not even the smooth-talking Ares, God'o'war.
And to beat a dead horse, if I may, Najara delivered one of THE best stinging lines ever articulated on XWP:
Xena: " Did you tell her about the vision?" Najara: " No. That would hurt her-- and I don't ever want to do that. That's your job."
ZING!

Xena: " Did you tell her about the vision?" Najara: " No. That would hurt her-- and I don't ever want to do that. That's your job."
that's why i love Najara. she told xena the truth about Xena.
And here's another good one:
Naj: "You forget-- hurting Gabrielle is _your_ job. Or have those visions gone away? You know, the visions of your death _and_ hers? I wanna share a life of peace with Gabrielle. You wanna share a violent death. You tell _me_ who's the villain here-- me or you."
Well they had a violent death at the end of IOM and Xena had one in FIN.
I agree from just two eps of Xena she made quite a mark but she is nothing like Najara in Cold Case and has managed not to get stereotyped. She's Lilly.

You two are great. hehe It's so amazing how she made such a mark on Xena only being in two eps. She definitely got to Xena and that is hard to do. I am totally into Cold Case now for the show and of course KM's character. Yes she is cute too. *giggles* I'm thinking Lucy needs to be a guest star in an episode. ;D

Well you never know, if she doesn't get her show. but they don't have well known supporting actors for eps unless they would consider that for the second season. That's one of the things I like about this series. ~Naj

Not to change the subject but I heard Kathryn Morris might be in on the Season 4 dvd for commentary or an interview for the Convert. I was hoping for Crusader but I'll take the Convert, too.

They got Kathryn to do commentary for one of the episodes?! EXCELLENT! From the last listing I got, they completely skipped her over!
*growls*
I hope you're right! I'd love to see her sitting on a couch, commenting on her acting style, LL, ROC, the storyline...!!!

Hi Tarik, Yea, I saw the list from Creation. Probably she is just too darn busy with all of her success! ;D I did originally hear she was to give commentary on the Convert although I was hoping for Crusader. I doubt if the NZ side would have her included. I'm a bit bummed about that but it's not like she doesn't have her own show and is in an upcoming movie in June! ~Naj

Get out of town!! I can't wait to get Season 4 I haven't finished reviewing Season 3 yet.. Well, maybe not. The last I heard, which I found yesterday only included AITST but nothing on Crusader or the Convert. I was waiting to see what Kym T and Brett R were doing in New Zealand but I'd think Kathryn Morris would have been in the Los Angeles shoot which already happened for Seasons 4, 5 & 6. But I'm still hoping till I hear final word over at Whoosh. If you hear something let us know. Okay! ~Naj
