Update: The avatars should work. Go to your "Profile" and select one. It won't show in the box below because there's a bug with v4 and the "preview display" is not presently working. They are working on it. But if you select one and "save" it, it should show under your username. The only ones that should work are jpeg and gif. I have to go delete all the .png ones.

The avatars do appear to work. You go in and select one and save it as long as it ends with jpeg or gif. png will not work.
Anyone else want to try?

What isn't working is the 'display" icon below it when you select an avatar. It's showing a red x in a white square. I've seen that over at the coders boards too. So I might have to go there and see what's up with that.
Plus, I think, you can only see avatars when you are signed in and based upon how you have set your "Preferences" in your "Profile":
Account Preferences--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Show Age: NoYes Selecting "Yes" will display your age and birthday to other users of this forum.
Hide Email: NoYes If you wish to hide your email address from members here, select "Yes."
Stay Invisible: NoYes Choosing "Yes" will make it so that you are not listed as online except to staff members.
Show Signatures: NoYes Selecting "No" will make it so that no signatures are displayed to you at the bottom of posts.
Show Avatars: NoYes If you do not wish to see the avatars of other users on this forum, select "No."
Show Images: NoYes If you wish to disable all images on the forum, select "No." All images will be replaced by a text equivalent, and you will be able to browse the forum faster.

Please help others with this until this is straightened out. and remember I have some .png avatars in there and they won't work. You can now see our rather large selection of Avatars that you can choose from to put under your handle name. It appears the v4 bug patch has been run.
Go into your "Profile" and select "Modify". Scroll down and you can click on each url and it will appear in the display window. If you look towards the end of the url you will see abbreviated names for them.
Example: Lilly and Scotty might show as: LilScot
I've also tried to give credit to the creator of the avatar in the avatar url. So the handle name will appear first.
AndreaLilly2 etc.

rudaxfScotty
The basic order of avatar characters goes like this:
Vera
Jeffries
Stillman
Scotty
Scotty/Lilly
Christina
Lilly/Kite
George
Lilly/George
TheWoods

*Some Kathryn Morris pictures are mixed througout the Lilly section.

If you have an avatar already selected and you want to change it you will have to remove the old avatar url. The old avatar url is right below the Avatar Selection and Preview Icon Display.
