long hiatus from Netflix (years)...now revisiting some old but good movies and hopefully some new ones.
This one is a mystery story by Sara Waters....twists and turns you won't believe (I didn't) and a love story thrown in. Fingersmith.
Both actresses have gone on to have a successful career including the United States. Check them out on IMBD.com
As well, Rupert Evans the lead male. I really liked him too.

Favorite Hallmark Christmas Movie:The Christmas Card.Love John Newton, Alice Evans, Ed Asner & Lois Nettleton. Based on a true story. This was 2006 and I haven't seen many interesting movies on Hallmark for Christmas since about 2012. And certainly none since about 2015. Thus, this is the only Hallmark Christmas Movie I actually purchased on DVD hoping there was more in terms of deleted scenes. (but there wasn't). John Newton spoke but no Alice Evans. I enjoyed John's participation. I would have loved to see a sequel. From information and contacts I've had on the internet of all who LOVE this movie, they would also like a sequel. The married couple would have some 15 year olds or younger by now. When my massage therapist and I were talking the subject of Hallmark Christmas movies came up a couple months ago. She asked me what my favorite movie was and when I said it, she said she KNEW that was the one I would pick. Also last year in a waiting room a few women were talking about Hallmark Christmas movies and they were saying how much they loved The Christmas Card. Great Promotional stills here of John and Alice: Joh Newton & Alice EvansAnd Here: CastThanks to Rena Pon for the Only Fan Video out there:

Still revisiting Fingersmith......this is a great sequenced fan video as suspenseful as the Mystery (which is not given away). I have other Netflix sitting here not watched....
the art of a good fan video edit, storyline....and music selection.

HBO Miniseries: Mildred Pierce 5 part. 2011 Mildred Pierce HBO Guess I'm on a Kate kick lately. I decided, a couple months ago, to see what all the fuss was about Ammonite. But I was on Netflix and didn't even look at the cast. So when I got the DVD, I saw Kate Winslet was in it and thought it would be good. For me, I thought it was terrible. The only good thing about the movie was the doctor. I wish he and Kate had been the story. The setting, the story, eh, didn't interest me at all. The two main characters had cardboard chemistry and the male director had some visuals in wanted to see on film. So, it wasn't for me at all. BUT, then I saw a commercial for Mare of Easttown for HBO and have been watching that every Sunday Night. (That I posted in OTHER Forum). Kate really hits the rural Pennsylvania culture! When I began to watch Mare of Easttown, I checked the HBO website and saw "Mildred Pierce". I ordered it through Netflix. I just finished watching and have to say it was a very good story. Too bad I couldn't 'binge watch" the entire thing. But it was great. The first disc is three parts and the second disc two.
