Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman writing again about a question that I have. I just joined in March, but I was wondering the other day, when did this board get started? Also, our mods seem like they are a united team with a concrete plan to keep this board civilized, I guess you all had that idea when it started and you were getting it set up? Thanks for listening, I'm just being inquisitive. Just trying to find out more about my favorite board, any reponses to this will be most welcome. Thanks, and take care, everyone!

Good afternooon Brydman,
I'm sure Naj will weigh in later with more detail as I didn't join the board till last September. I had been a guest since April of '04 though. The board was created in December of 2003 by CCFan as Cold Case boards were few and far between. And she wanted to create a place for all the fans of this new show to gather and discuss all the elements of it.

Excellent question, byrdman! I'd been wondering about that, too--just hadn't thought of posting it as a question. Hope Naj and CCFan can tell us all about it.

Hi byrdman! I believe I was the first member of CC's forum and that was on 12/8/03. I don't remember how long she had the board up ... maybe in November of 2003? She will have to tell you that and the story of her expectations of putting this board up. I come from the Xena fandom and Ms. Morris appeared in season 4 in two episodes. The most notable episode Crusader. That is how I first found this actress and was impressed. I believe there were several factors going as to how the tenor of the board would play out. In my mind the concept would be to honor ProBoards (our webhost's TOS). And, for me, I wanted to see a board that showed respect for Ms. Morris, the cast, and entire crew. I don't know how we are perceived but we try to allow opinion based upon those ideas. The other mods can chime in with their ideas and reasons why they are here but we seem to have found very good choices in selecting mods for this board as they are all very committed and responsible. And they like to talk! ;D ~Naj

Hey byrdman!
I joined this board in March of 2004. I had been a lurker for about two weeks, and then I decided to join. Last summer, I was asked to be a moderator. The rest is history as they say. When I joined, there were fewer than a hundred members, and now we have over 400!

Good evening everyone, Hey, thank you all for your interesting tales thus far! I especially liked Naj's tale of being the first on the board in December of 2003 (ah, one of the trailblazers for us now! . Also, thanks for your nice thoughts on my question, Disasterfreak. To be honest, I thought to myself when I wrote this "will anyone really care about this question?" Thankfully, I have seen that this was an absurd question, and I am glad that I could help to answer this question for you as well, Disasterfreak. I also enjoyed hearing from Ryebeach and TVFan on their introduction to the boards. Thank you all for sharing with an inquisitive young memeber just trying to find out more about this great board's history. I cannot wait to hear from CCFan as well as to how she felt when she set up this board, and her ideas behind it.

hey... great question!
lets see... it started when i saw a commercial for the show and i got really excited because at the time i was watching just about every JB show there was, and knew i would really like this one. i was a member of some other boards for shows like friends and without a trace and i wondered if someone would set up a board for CC. about a year before the show i had set up a message board for the show The Practice (before it got canceled) and i had really enjoyed the whole process. unfortunatly, my The Practice board only had 34 members and I thought it would be cool to get some more practice in. I had used proboards for TP board, so i chose to use it again because its simple and very straightfoward.
Anyway, when i created the board it was really simple. i used NO codes, no special banners no nothing, it was real simple. then one day, i got 2 members and i believe naj was the first. from day one she has been helping me... im telling you, this board would not be where it is today without her... shes so on top of things.
anyway, after that i was getting 4 or 5 members a day and i guess the rest is history. I have 4 great mods who help me more than they know, especially because i can't be here during the day due to school and work.

Good evening everyone, Hey, this is the Byrdman just writing again to thank everyone for all of their great stories about how this board was started. This thread has been very enlightening for me personally, and thanks for providing such great information! Thanks to CCFan as well. I was glad to get your thoughts, as you are the originator of this great board, and it was very cool to read about the opening days of Look Again. I am glad that this board has fared better than your other experiences with hosting, and thank you for creating it, and to all the mods for maintaining it! Plus, anyone else who wants to post their stories on how their Look Again experience began, please feel free! Take care, and thanks again for your stories everyone!

Our Forum History. A young woman from California "CCFan" (Kerri) decided that she desired to create a forum to discuss a new television show and thought that she would attract a handful of fans to talk about the show. That was November 18, 2003. With her Cold Storm Template for a forum she opened an account with ProBoards out of her home state of California. Since the first season of Cold Case was quite young, Kerri named the forum using the title of the Season 1 Episode 1 title. Kerri attended the same high school as the actress portraying Billy Ducette in Season 2's GLAAD award winning episode "Best Friends". "Naj"(Irene) a woman from central Pennsylvania was heavily involved in the Universal Studios first forum of it's kind "Netforum" for Xena:Warrior Princess and the spinoff the "Nutforum" as it was admiringly referred to as a Moderator. Naj spent many years in that forum and also other websites where she was a Moderator (WHOOSH) involved with Xena: Warrior Princess series discussion. Naj noticed that there were forums for many actors from both Xena and Hercules the Legendary Journeys actors but none for one actor who appeared in Season 4 of Xena, Kathryn Morris. Naj roamed the internet and found Kerri's bare bones site and joined December 8, 2003 and began to build it up with information about Kathryn Morris and all things Cold Case (CBS). CCFan invited Naj as Administrator of the site. We both worked hand in hand to insure the site's success. When invited by the German owned website to combine we declined. We did not desire a streamlined slick techno site. We desired our site to reflect the contributions of it's own members and encourage creativity. There was so much talent among our membership from avatars, icons, banners, fiction, etc. It was their home, not ours, and we desired to share and encourage building the volume piece by piece. After a couple years, CCFan decided she needed to move on and she turned over ownership of the forum to Naj who has become acting owner of Look Again. All visitors will see, here, remnants of a vibrant community that was held in esteem by it's members as a fun place to visit and discuss the drama series. Although Look Again did not store all the artwork and left it up to the members to host, we still have much discussion and other interesting information about the series, actors and guest actors. Current members are encouraged to still contribute. Look Again plans to remain on ProBoards as long as they will host it. Membership has currently been suspended (that's not entirely true-one can still apply for membership). All prior members with user accounts are free to come and continue the community and/or visit. Look Again was it's fans and the show recognized our little forum and visited and talked with us either through email with me or in our Spoilers forum. We also are recognized on Michael Levine's Cold Case Score CD. LOOK AGAIN was also visited by those from the show. See the following links of InsideR and uselesscat (Michael A Levine, Score Composer Cold Case): A Few Bits of Interest
Still Interested

Thank you for the background info and for keeping the site open. With Cold Case being on TV in some areas(including mine) again,I'm being reminded 16 years later of what an amazing show this was. One of the best and most underrated series ever IMO.

Thinking who InsideR could have been because I have the person's age.
uselesscat had to have been Michael L. Levine, the Score Composer because all his posts have to do with the Score and when Look Again Members voted for three selections to be included on the Cold Case CD.
But InsideR....Who would have been that age...Will update.
So far, Jeremy Ratchford is the age. I will continue to delve... Meredith Stiehm and Veena Sud come in a close second but not the EXACT age I have listed on the profile (which only I can see).
When some of the members spoke in our McGinty's or 500 Club or Lilly's Bedroom, we concluded by InsideR's posts that it could have included others using the handle. Just a FYI. So it could have been other cast...main cast....
InsideR's last post on Look Again: OK, here's an on-set story. Danny and Jeremy were always pulling pranks on each other. After one of Danny's pranks, Jeremy had fake copies of TV Guide printed up that showed a photoshopped Danny in drag made up to look like Kathryn and a fake Rolling Stone with Danny dressed in gay black leather a la Freddy Mercury. He distributed them at the 100th episode party. Jeremy had a thing about tweaking gender roles - he showed up to the last cast and crew party dressed in full drag regalia.
another point to Jeremy....
