Doubled edged sword for me. While I'm glad to see Danny back on the screen,I wish it wasn't on a show that had jumped the shark long ago and is on its way out.
Even though by the end of the run Cold Case wasn't the show it once was, I still looked foward to watching it and can say it ended on a high note.
The same can't be said for Law & Order SVU. Mentioned the reasons why in posts from last year, but suffice to say Law & Order SVU 's shark jumped all the way to the moon and hasn't landed yet.
I just wish Danny was going on a show on its way up, not down.

If a show has jumped the shark then why continue? Does it still have good ratings? I can't think of any shows where the main cast has left where replacements turn the show around. I'm thinking one of those shows where Ricky Schroeder came in may be one and then he was replaced.

Took me a while to get back to this one but from what I understand, it's getting just enough ratings to where NBC is bringing Law & Order SVU (that and the fact they don't have much else) back. Trust me on this one, the nightmare scenario of Cold Case being a joke of the show it once was if it had continued has happened with Law & Order SVU. Hopefully in the time it has left, the new writers have quality scripts for Danny & the rest of the cast to do. |
