Cold Case virtual season 8 - first episode up now

Our first episode in Cold Case's virtual season eight is now available!

Lilly and the squad reopen the case of a CIA agent who retired at the end of the Cold War, only to be murdered in a park in 1993, when new evidence comes to light that robbery may not have been the motive. As they delve deeper into the case, they soon learn that even retired spies have secrets, and that the man's co-workers and even his own family may know more than their letting on. Meanwhile, as Lilly gets ready for a new chapter, working for the FBI, she begins to have second thoughts as she she realizes she'll be leaving behind more than just her job. The music of REM is played throughout the episode. Part 1 of 2.

The search for a retired CIA agent's killer heats up, literally, when the prime suspect is killed in an explosion. The bombing is quickly linked to a suspected terrorist the agent was following, but Lilly suspects there's more to the case than meets the eye. While forensics tech Louie finds himself forced to defuse a tense situation, the squad must find the man the victim was following and learn what he knows before the case witnesses are taken out one by one.
Meanwhile, for the first time in her life, Lilly must choose between her work and her family, until Agent Cavanaugh proposes a solution.

The music of REM plays througout.

Lee Tergesen ("Oz") guest stars as the victim. Gail O'Grady ("NYPD Blue", "American Dreams") guest stars as his wife. Monica Keena ("Dawson's Creek") and Clancy Brown ("Lost", "Highlander") guest star as his co-workers. Bruce Davidson ("X-Men") and Shaun Toub ("Iron Man") guest star as his boss and neighbor. When the skeleton of a man is found on the site of the former Philadelphia World's Fair, the team must investigate the murder of a man last seen in 1926. The man was a rising star and was the assistant to a member of the fair's Executive Committee. They must open some old wounds for the victim's living daughter, now in her eighties. Was the victim killed because of his poor business decisions, or was it something more personal?
