I was watching 'It Takes a Village', there is a scene where Nick is talking to the doctor and his phone rings as they finish the interview.
I have looked at that scene a few times and he doesn't look at his phone to see who is calling, he just picks it up and says, 'Yeah Boss, what is it?'
Do the detectives have a certain ring tone for other detectives?
For all Nick knew, Lilly could have been calling him.

I just watched the scene and you're right. He doesn't watch his cell phone. They maybe forget to tell him "When your cell-phone ring you watch it and pick up the call"..a little mistake

With the exception of a few episodes, I did notice a few detectives didn't look on the phone before answering.
I remember one episode, maybe later in the season, maybe 6 or 7, John looked to see who was calling and didn't pick up but remember Lilly got calls from Ray but looked on her phone.

Could be work phones. If they know only colleagues have the number, they can hazard a pretty good guess as to who would be calling without needing to look.
The only instance I can recall (although I could be horribly wrong) when someone not work related phones one of the squad is when Elisa phones Scotty, but he could easily have given her the number for emergencies.
Of course it’s more than likely just an actor screw up, but it’s nice to think of an alternative explanation.
