One of the main reasons I liked Cold Case, it made you feel for the victims no other show has. It had victims that inspired you and in many cases, made you realize how brave they were, and how brave real life people based on them were. Here are my bravest Cold Case victims...who are yours?
Melanie Campbell - Firefires - As Lily said to her all those years later when they found her alive, she was brave in a world that wasn't. She certainly showed more courage than her mother or any of the other adults, and refused to listen to the racism from both sides, white and black that she and Cherice couldn't be friends. I'm glad that for once, a victim who showed greater courage then the rest of the world was given another chance.
Vivian Lynn - Wasps - One of my top five. Every single one of these women in the WASPS had courage. Not only did they pave the way for all women in combat and avaition,38 of them did give up their lives serving their country. All the while knowing they were hated by many of the military men.
But Vivian showed even greater courage IMO. In getting justice for Edna, Vivian knew the program that was letting her and other women fly would be shut down. That her dreams of flying the supersonic jet could be put on hold. That the future of women when it came to combat could be put on hold.
But unlike Iris, she put that aside to try and get justice for her friend, even if it meant stalling the future of other women,as well as her own. That's true courage IMO.
Mike Chulaski - Cargo - A man who gave up his boat, his life's work and risked his life again and again to save a girl from a fate worse than death.
We like to think everyone would do what Mike did, but the sad truth is, many people would have ran or given up when they realized the monsters they were dealing with. Mike didn't....and though he didn't live to see it, he saved Lena and countless other girls from a lifetime of torture and cruelty.
Sean Cooper - Forever Blue - He risked disowning by his father and death....to be true to himself and to try and be with the man he loved...Only upon his death did Jimmy Bruno realize he was right...they were the lucky ones.
