Author's note-
This is a fan fiction about a very good friend of mine that died of her third case of Breast Cancer last summer. Since we would always watch Cold Case together, and she had always encouraged me to write, I am honoring her with a fan fiction about if her death was really a murder. (She was not murdered in real life, just have to make that clear! ) [And last names have been changed. ] In the story, I am using our favorite songs. I realize that some of the songs have been used in Cold Case previously, and I do not intend to knock off of the show at all, but I really do need to use them. And I also realize that they're not all necessarily time period specific, and I apologize for bad music planning, but I promise to do better with the music part in future stories. Thank you for reading, and I hope you enjoy!

Dave Matthews Band~ #41
Gina Hunniford glanced ahead at Michelle Johnson, who was gracefully spinning around in the grass while she was stuck dragging a cooler across the park.
“Did you have to bring 3 tubs of ice cream?” Gina whined. “We're never gonna finish it all.” Michelle looked back at Gina, and smiled.
“Quit being such a teenager,” she teased, “I figured it would be nice to be able to pick flavors once we got here. What if I felt the urge to have Strawberry instead of Chocolate?”
Gina giggled and put down the cooler as she rolled her eyes and smiled. That was so Michelle.
Gina sat down next to Michelle and looked up at the sunset. “It's so beautiful...” Michelle whispered. She sprawled out on the grass, spreading out her arms and basking in the warm spring evening.
Gina looked over at Michelle and laughed. She looked so relaxed, as if there was no cancer at all. If only every moment could be like this.
She looked back up at the sky slowly turning dark, and smiled. Michelle would beat this, just like she beat it the first two times. Everything would be alright.

Michael A. Levine~ A Good Death
Michelle Johnson lay at the bottom of the staircase in her house, sprawled on the floor, her body much weaker and bonier than previously shown. A pool of blood spills out from underneath her head.

Lilly Rush walked into her office to find a teenaged girl sitting at a table. “Hi, my name is Lilly Rush.” she said as she shook the girl's hand and sat down next to her. “What can I help you with?”
The girl gazed at Lilly and smiled sadly. “My name is Gina Hunniford, and I would like you to look into the case of Michelle Johnson. She died last summer,” she said as she handed Lilly an autopsy report. "She was like a mother to me." she said quietly as she looked down.
“I remember reading about this in the paper. I thought she died of Breast Cancer.” Lilly said as she flipped through the pages.
“That's what I thought. The explanation was that her bones were so weak, that her legs gave out as soon as she reached the top of the stairs. She fell and hit her head, causing it to split open, which explained the blood,” Gina struggled, “they said she died within 10 minutes.”
Lilly handed Gina a box of tissues as she watched a tear start to roll down her olive complexion. “What evidence do you have that this is a murder case? The autopsy looks pretty legitimate to me.”
Gina handed Lilly a folded piece of paper. “When Michelle died, I got her jewelry box. I was looking through it the other day, when I found this in a separate drawer."
Lilly unfolded the piece of paper. In scrawly handwriting, it read: “I'll get my revenge. And if I don't? Well, they do say the third time's the charm, don't they?”

I'd be happy to get feedback, this is the first fanfic I've written that I actually see myself completing. I am in no way a professional writer, so I would also be happy to get any tips!
OH, and the next part will be coming very soon!
