The sad part here is that the HDTV I got broke (Turns on, stays on for like 5 seconds, image goes out, sound does not) and it'd be cheaper to buy a new than. So the TV we're using now is also broke (the image doesn't align properly, and there's something you have to do to get it straight, and you have to do it every 30 minutes)
so most of the time the TV remains off.
But I'm more of an internet person anyway, and if there's TV show I really want to watch, I'll watch it on Hulu, or buy the DVD set.

Read the article and the thing that stood out to me the most besides his take on male and female viewers was the mention of the writer's strike. I have friends that work in the industry and almost two and a half years later, there is still bitterness by many behind the scenes people over the strike. Not just towards the producers and studio heads, but towards the writers as well. To many, the writers (fair or not) were being just as greedy as the stuido heads. Look at Season 5 of Cold Case, it only had 18 episodes instead of 24. The wounds left by the strike have yet to heal...both on the quality of writing in some of my favorite shows...and in Hollywood.

I'll go ahead and make this an announcement, and send out a Mass PM; I do ask that everyone keep this respectful if they do contact any advertisers. I've sent out a mass email actually. I do have two comments: 1. I'm really upset and disappointed in CBS. Cold Case wasn't a shock cancel, but Ghost Whisperer was, and now this debacle with Criminal Minds leaves very little wiggle room for there not to be something fishy going on here. A network doesn't just mysteriously cut shows and females leads all at once. There is just no plausible explanation for Criminal Minds, and given their plans for the spinoff and how much they pay for their male actors, it's quickly becoming a disgusting matter. 2. That said. I would strongly suggest that fans and members here not get their hopes up that this would bring back Cold Case. Idealistically that might be a hope, but a cancellation has been on the timeline for a while now. I would encourage everyone to see this as an opportunity to tell CBS that their fan base is very upset, that we do not support the way they are conducting their business, and that if this trend continues, they'll lose a large portion of their viewing audience. What is going on with Criminal Minds? I saw posted that somwthing was going on with that show - Everytime I find a show that is soo good it seems that it soon is cancelled! I think I have seen all episodes of Cold Case but I wish it would come out on DVD

So, not cancelled, but severely impaired.

Tru...something tells me in a way I think they want to get rid of it after this season...along with some or all of the Csis to make way for new fresh shows.

I don't know in this case, because CM is one of their highest rated shows, especially for its time slot. Highly rated enough to warrant its own spinoff, anyway. I think they'd get themselves in less hot water if they spent time developing new ideas instead of 2 CSI spinoffs, a NCIS spinoff, and now a CM spinoff. Granted, NCIS worked as a spinoff of JAG, but if you ask most viewers, the child hardly resembled the parent.

Oh, I agree with you on that. CSI Miami... BLEH is all I can say to that, and the fact it will stay on the air for one more year with more horrible plotlines and acting while Cold Case isn't? Sigh....

Don't worry. CSI: Miami won't last long in that time slot. Maybe that's CBS's way of getting rid of David Caruso.

God I hope they aren't trying to cancel CSI: Miami. If anything they should get rid of CSI: NY first Miami is the only good one!!!

Just read this... Melina Kanakaredes is leaving CSI NY and Sela Ward is taking her place. The other post I made about Cold Case still leaving on a high note.... stuff like this makes me grateful for that.

Wow, that sucks. I'm not that fond of CSI NY, but Stella was such a major character. She also got to flirt with Scotty on the crossover episode.

At least for once, it appears she isn't leaving due to "creative reasons" or a pay cut but a choice on her own. And to be honest, as a CSI NY fan too(which is how I learned about Cold Case) the way the show has gone, I would have left on a semi high note too.
