zap2itAll I have to say is the reason it isn't performing as it used to (their words not mine) is "because of it's time slot". If you want to kill a series you put it somewhere where you won't get the viewers. How about 10 to 11 at night when the airing schedule is all discombobulated from NFL and NBA or what ever run over. Geez! You know that excuse just doesn't fly anymore! The public is smarter than that! Edited to add: There is a poll to vote to keep or kill it. Keep it is losing - it needs votes!

I think there are other shows that have seen the end of their lives, like Medium, which is on that list. Normally I'm all for sci-fi, paranormal shows, but Medium I can't watch. My mum does, so every once and a while I sit through an episode, and I swear it's the same plot over and over again. If CBS wants to trim off something, Medium should definitely go before CC.
It's comes down to the same argument we've been using for a while now: CBS needs to revamp its Sunday line-up. If they're going to show NFL games in the fall and NCAA games in the winter/spring, they need to have a lineup that fits that. If they want to keep 60 Minutes, they need to chop whatever is at 8 or 9 PM, and only go with a 2 show lineup. They'll honestly get the same number of viewers, and advertisers could be assured of a spot where people are actually going to care to watch. It's a win/win.
They should take a hint from NBC (gasp!) and what they did with Law & Order; the series is really making a solid showing, and knowing that this would have been tapered by a horrible time slot (Friday nights) NBC wised up and moved it to Mondays (after they fixed the Leno/Conan disaster). A show does as well as they want it to do; CC needs a CBS vote of confidence.

I agree -- a lot of the problems Cold Case is facing ratings-wise this season has to do with it's ever changing time slot. The kiss of death for any show is to get moved to a "past prime-time" slot, where it normally didn't air, in favor of newer programming. It sucks, because Cold Case is a better show than how it's being treated.

CBS should move Cold Case to another day, maybe um... Monday at 9pm... Not 10... NO WAY... I need my Linus Roache and Sam Waterston fix. They should cancel Medium or maybe Ghost Whisperer and bring back Cold Case.

However, putting Cold Case on Fridays would be a definite kill. I learned in college that Fridays are the worst day to put on any show, because everyone is out doing something.
then again...Ghost Whisperer has lasted this long.

The poll is now at 50% 50% which is an improvement. It would be great if you all left a comment as you don't have to register at the site.

Just wanted to say that Law & Order was on Friday night too but they moved it to Monday.. Think I figured out how to do the multiple quote... I will make a comment on the site and I did vote to kill the other shows but bring back Cold Case.

I have to agree that ever changing time slot. I also noticed that problem with CC is how it doesn't get enough promo time as say Undercover Boss or some other show. Every time I am watching CBS I don't see the promos for CC as much as CSI or NCIS. I have to search the internet in order to see the promo for the next episode. I know this was the reason that I didn't really get to watch the first 4 seasons because I never knew when it was on.

Agreed, I very seldom see any promos for Cold Case when I'm watching NCIS,CSI or Criminal Minds. I have seen several for undercover boss and Survivor. Also agree with what everyone else said. CBS killed Murder,She Wrote by putting it opposite friends and then using the ratings excuse to ax it.

I watch Medium, but Cold Case is way better. Medium always seems to be trying to outdo itself with seeing how graphic the murders can get, wheras Cold Case focuses on the people rather than the way they died.
