So ninja was right with his guess that it is about arson, AND it's a recent case well.

I suspect with the budget cuts. that the last few cases will be more recent to save $$ on paying actors to play young and old characters.
P.S. Fire was the first thing I thought of when I saw the words flashover. It's rare but I make the right guesses on occasion.

Is it sad that I don't even care about the plot for this episode? LOL I mean I'm sure the plot will be great, it certainly sounds very intense........I'm just so jazzed that my most favorite band of bands is being featured.
*does happy dance of joy*

Cold Case sure has been in a classic rock mood this season; what with them featuring The Doors, and now Pink Floyd.
(I bet they use 'Comfortably Numb' as the closing song)

Wish You Were Here has that "closing song" feel to it, though. I guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Yaaaay! Keith Szarabajka's back as Doherty! A great actor and a great foil for Stillman. I wish his appearances weren't so few and far between, but I guess they wanna use him in small doses if he's gonna make Stillman's life a living hell whenever he shows up. It's easy to miss in the guest cast but it looks like Nina Siemaszko's also back as Vera's ex-wife Julie, not seen since she kicked him out for good back in season three's "Superstar" (which coincidentally was in 2006. Coincidence? I wonder). (And it looks like she's not the only woman from Vera's past who'll be returning in the next few weeks!) My guess is the detectives might be knocking on Julie's door when Vera goes missing, but we'll see. The great Glenn Morshower graces the show with his stoic, Stillman-like presence. Will he be a loyal, dedicated character like Aaron Pierce, or someone more political minded like the sherrif he played in the early days of CSI? We'll see. Elya Baskin is a go-to character actor Hollywood tends to use for Russian characters. Probably his best known role is as Peter Parker's loudmouth landlord in the second and third "Spider-Man" movies. (Remember? "RENT!!! Where is my money!?") I'm quite happy to see this is a single-artist ep, but not for the reasons you think. I knew this would be a 2006 case and was afraid they'd use a song I have in mind as an end song for a 2006 case of my own... Looking forward to this one! Very promising! ;D Edited to add: Looking over the cast list again, I notice there seem to be no characters seen only in 2006 (as you'd expect a victim would be). Everyone exclusively in 2010 or in both 2006 AND 2010. Will the victims remain unseen, or is this a "Fireflies" / "Ghost of My Child" scenario where the victims are found to be still alive? I wonder...

Toddsmitts, from what I've gathered, the victims were two young children. And they are dead, 100% dead. The question of this case seems to be whether the right man was put in custody for it... or if it was arson at all. I have a feeling this is based on a real life case in Texas but can't say for sure until I see the episode.

This appears to be based on the real life case of Cameron Todd Willingham www.chicagotribune.com/technology/chi-060502willingham,0,6033976.story He was executed in Texas for starting an arson fire that killed his three daughters. Only now several arson experts have said it wasn't arson. This episode clearly appears to be based on that.

This is what I think... ;D I think he won't come in, kinda go AWOL like Lilly did in 'Joseph' and they worry about him then check out his case and stuff... Then Stillman gives Vera the cold shoulder like he did for Lilly in 'Rampage'. ;D

Stillman can easily tell him that he won't accept his resignation and to maybe think about wanting to quit.
