I thought this was a let-down episode for me. I thought the side-story about Scotty finding his mother's attacker was much more compelling. I'm curious to see where it goes from here, seeing as there aren't that many episodes left this season.
As for this particular episode......I had Wayne pegged as the doer rather early, he had that smarmy persona that just screamed "I did it". There was nothing overly compelling about the characters, although when Kat was interviewing Rachel and she was talking about how all Mick wanted was to be there for his son, I thought I saw something in her face that read a little like acknowledgment of her ex wanting to spend time with his daughter. At least it seemed that way to me. The music was great - while I'm not the biggest hair metal fan in the world, I loved the particular songs they used.
That being said I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT FOR NEXT WEEK'S EPISODE AS IT'S FEATURING THE MUSIC OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITE BAND IN THE ENTIRE DAMN WORLD, PINK FLOYD.
Sorry, got a little excited there for a second. They even used Comfortably Numb in the promo, which is #3 on my all-time list of Pink Floyd songs.

For some reason I really liked this episode, even though the subject of wrestling has never interested me. Once I get my head out of the fog I'll have more to say than the following.
1. Loved the music they use. Very appropriate, and I'm glad that they chose this type of music instead of keyboard pop, or love ballads.
2. Am I the only one that laughed when the first suspect yelled "My baby!" in reference to his gun?
3. Scotty sure was violent in the episode.

I really loved this weeks episode. And im not entirely sure how and why. But for some freaky reason it felt a little bit like an episode back from season two or three. The slight action, the slim but solid moments between lil and scotty and most of all the detective humor. They all seem to have had a piece of their own history reflect within the case itself. Scotty is kind of obvious but Lily had some kind of connection with how a father wouldnt visit his own son in 14 years and the little bit at the beggining where the fights have occupied some of her satuday time. Stillman being firm yet gentle in letting his detectives take the lead and in this episode they really showed the close trust and friendships between the characters. I am really interested in Scotty, Vera and Kats arising storylines and I can not wait to see where they go with them. Next week All PINK FLYOD!!!!!!! YES!
P.S Does anyone know what in the World happened to Saccardo? Like where did that man go.!

...but Lily had some kind of connection with how a father wouldnt visit his own son in 14 years and the little bit at the beggining where the fights have occupied some of her satuday time... Yeah, I like that little undercurrent there too! I really enjoyed the episode, and am a little surprised how (so far) the voting is all over the place. Even though it wasn't as heart-wrenching as I expected, I found the story very interesting and gave it an "excellent". Tonight, even before all the Scotty drama, I started thinking about how much I do like Danny Pino's acting. Frankly, Scotty never really was on my good side for several seasons. But especially after the apartment struggle scene, I have to say Danny has done Scotty's role remarkably and consistently well over the years.

I wasn't expecting and I was more than pleased. Lots of funny lines: "my baby" and the funniest live for me this season "You sent a gun thru the mail?" LOL That guy was crazy. Solid episode. Liked it a lot. Especially the last 20 minutes.

I enjoyed the episode but the methods they used to make the one guy confess tick me off. I'm sorry, scumbag or not, the guy ASKED for his lawyer. That means you get his lawyer, not threaten to beat him unless he talks. How is Tim going to get justice for his dad when one or both of the confessions will be getting tossed due to the actions taken tonight?

You know, that's something that has always made me frown at this show. Every time someone asks for their lawyer the detectives ALWAYS assume that this is a confession of guilt, and will do everything NOT to get the suspect their lawyer.

That's what real cops do sometimes. May not be right, but that's how it works. It's stalling tactics. Like how they say so-and-so confessed and signed this statement, when really they hadn't said anything. Or how they claim that the victim woke up from their coma and fingered them as the attacker, when either the victim has died or is still in the coma. Courts give cops a lot of leeway in getting confessions out of suspects, provided they don't use force or coercion. Besides, only Wayne asked for a lawyer, Sil didn't. He's the one that confessed to what happened, so it would still be admissible in court. Now if Wayne had confessed after he'd asked for a lawyer because Will and Scotty brow-beated him for it, then no his confession probably would get tossed.
However we the viewers are expected to suspend disbelief since it's a scripted TV drama and therefore, not reality. Which I have no problem doing.

Yes, cops get lots of leeway but still... TV shows or not, it drives me nuts that are no reprucussions for it sometimes...

Thought it was okay.
Why was the boy in a coma? I liked that they showed concern for Vera but I would have thought Stillman would have asked about him maybe later in the episode.
I liked that interview Miller did with the mom and hopefully she realizes that her daughter needs to have a father, no matter what.
I liked Scotty kicking that guy's ass but I think somehow that will be tossed out even if the guy had their pictures.
Next week's preview looks good.

Thought it was okay. Why was the boy in a coma? Mick's son (that's the boy) jumped off the roof of the family house trying to duplicate something he saw at the wrestling match. Also, the man who Scotty beat up didn't have just pictures......those were his victims driver's licenses, which he stole from them after they were raped.

Yes, the serial rapist had his "trophies" as they were in his apartment.

I really thought it odd that they mentioned the absence of Vera and days had to go by to solve the case and no one was concerned where he was. That isn't normal and stuck out like a sore thumb. Doesn't make sense to me at all!
Scotty sure got into a scrap didn't he. Was it supposed to mimic the pro wrestling theme of the case ? ;D

There hasn't been much of Stillman in Season 7... only at the start of the episodes for the most part. The Two Weddings was the most I had seen him in this season.

I also think Stillman deserves more screen time, really!
Funny when Lilly asked the man where he was in June 1986 and he said "Where were you?" Funny funny

I really enjoyed this episode. Loved the silent communication between Lily and Scotty. Don't know what's going to become of Scotty as a result of this vigilantism. Worried about Vera.

There hasn't been much of Stillman in Season 7... only at the start of the episodes for the most part. The Two Weddings was the most I had seen him in this season. Based on the press release for an upcoming episode, they may about to make up for that. -The second Tim said he broke his arm playing football, who didn't say to themselves "Sure, you did. Had NOTHING to do with wrestling." -From "Yo, Adrian" to "Metamorphosis", managers and promoters have always been shady folks on the show (The only major exception being in "Pin Up Girl"). Lance was no exception, but it surprising to me that he was the one that actually did the deed. More often it's someone beholden to them that gets their hands dirty, which is why I naturally assumed it'd be Sweet. Well, I'll take my surprises where I can get 'em. -It's true, Scotty WAS rather physical this week, but I think that was in keeping with the theme of the ep. I wonder if this is all we'll hear of the storyline with his mother. It surprises me that we never even got the guy's name. -Anyone else a bit disappointed that Piper wasn't credited as ROWDY Roddy Piper? -Nice touch that the real-life wrestling league we all know (the one that introduced us to Hulkamania, Andre the Giant, The Rock, and of course "Rowdy" Roddy Piper) is referred to as the WWE in the present and the WWF in the past, before that pesky lawsuit from the World Wildlife Fund. -Speaking of such, Mick's growling voice in the hype video brought me back to the similar ones I'd watch at my friend's house when we were kids. I lost interest in that pretty quick as I got older, but it's still fun when something triggers an old childhood memory like that. -Aside from Scotty's takedown, no subplots this week. Vera's AWOL and no mention of Kat's custody dispute (or her spat with Bell). At least one of those will be explained next week though.
