I had two suspects, Hank Butler or Eddie, but they could have held the suspense for a little longer in the episode. The Doors music was great! Not one of the seasons best, but still an excellent episode.

Excellent episode! I was totally floored on who the doer was until it was revealed. Never would have guessed that Lester's dumb act was just that that - an act. I loved the music and thought the ending song "People Are Strange" was absolutely perfect, considering the subject matter of the episode. Circus people are always considered "strange" by people who don't know them or understand them.
I loved the idea of Mia being the Human Butterfly in the show and having it parallel her turning into a butterfly in real life. She was leaving the cocoon (Jones Bros.) to emerge as a butterfly (Ringling Bros.).
The music made this episode for me though - I loved the placement of Riders on the Storm when her and Eddie were tripping on acid and being intimate. Good song for that moment. Would have liked to hear Soul Kitchen, but I don't know where they would have put it. Can you tell I love The Doors. Jim Morrison is my god. LOL

Also, I thought the "Who shot Moe?" storyline ended a little sharply. Perhaps it was obvious who it was when we found out Hank Butler was coming back, but I thought it was a little too....I don't know. Like maybe they regretted going down that road writing-wise and wanted to wrap it up fast.

Great episode, I was flipflopping between biggie and Zelda as the doer. We have to remember, circus is all about performing, and Lester did the best one of all. As to the Moe Storyline being wrapped up so fast... I think maybe the writers regretted having LIly go down the road she did... and wrapped it as to not have it hanging the rest of the season.

To me this was one of the seasons best episodes. i love when i cant figure out who the killer was or atleast be suprised, and i literally didnt expect it to be the Giant. kinda freaky the fact that he snapped her neck to kill her and he did scotty almost the same way. anyways, im a l/s shipper at heart, and it was nice to see some lilly/scotty moments. i loved how scotty had her back in the beginning of the episode, he really cares about that girl, more than a partner to me... and then when lilly had the beers knocking on the door, i didnt expect her to be at scotty's apartment lol, but that was a nice scene too, just them talkin, they can relate and be cool around each other, they have good chemistry, love how scotty actually kind opened up to lil a little bit with the teary eyes and lilly basically sayin she had his back, i hope this isnt foreshadowing somethin bad for scotty, i hope he doesnt do something he'll end up regretting, and the scene with the girl's dad was also special, scotty takin up for lil again, he really is her protector. overall, i loved this episode.... and next week's eppy seems interesting too....

Probably. It just seemed forced to me that they'd bring in this storyline and then one episode after everyone loses their mind about who did what and was Lilly involved, they just wrap it up in a neat little bow. How did Hank know where Moe was? Was he stalking him too? How did Hank get in Moe's car? Where did he get the gun? None of these questions got answered tonight and I doubt we'll hear more about it in the following episodes. A little weak on CC's part. This is right up there with the Scotty/Frankie storyline.

Excellent episode if I do say so myself. I thought that something was up at the end, when Scotty did that slow clapping and the mentally challenged act. I was sitting there thinking, 'Surely Scotty wouldn't really make fun of someone that's mentally challenged.'
As for the whole Moe storyline, on one hand I don't want to complain, because Moe's dead, and Lilly didn't do it. On the other hand the idea of it being Hank Butler requires a great deal of suspension of belief. The only plausibly explanation I can think of is, is that Hank and Moe must have been on speaking terms in 2005-2009, and Hank learned that Moe had his favorite watering hole he loved to frequent.
That would explain how Hank knew where to find Moe. As for getting inside the car...either he picked the lock, or else he somehow figured out the car's pin number (or whatever it's called.)

One thing I've sadly learned from seeing real life cases... many parents (understandbly so) fall apart after their child's death. We can see that with Hank. The guilt he felt over his treatment of his daughter before she left, to never being able to tell her how proud he was of her clearly took a toll on him. We saw that in the episodes with him last season. If Lily had time in between cases and during cases to stalk Moe and figure out his routines since he was let out on bail, it's safe to assume Hank could as well. And like Lily, Hank a personal reason for doing so. The coverup of his daughter's murder.

One of the season's best! About Moe's murder: OK, Now we know. Bye. About the case: after an horrible case ("Bombers") I knew this one had to be good. IT WAS AWESOME! I like the final twist, all the sentimental parts, Kat interview with the "boyfriend" (about to bloom xD), I liked the victim. I noticed how the "boyfriend" didn't show up in the final montage, it means in the end she was intelligent and he wasn't really important for her. I knew her adoptive dad would see her but it's OK... It's plausible. Really excellent case. One of my season's favorite along with "WASP" and "Forensics" because of all the emotions involved. Wonderful Peggy McKay with her accent. Liked it a lot!. Liked the psychic telling Scotty his mother would be ok but he wouldn't One question. How did Mia's parent die? Because in the old spoilers it was said that their parents were murdered and I thought when I read that few months ago that would have something to do with her murder but it didn't.

I enjoyed this episode, although, I'm not a fan of the circus. And I never suspected the doer, either as others have stated, that he had a condition that was faked. They were an odd group of performers - were they not? Yes, I didn't get it at first. That was pretty clever especially since this was the circus and his condition was attributed to his height. Of course, nowadays, 7 feet tall is not considered odd at all. As far as the Moe mystery, I didn't view it as a neat little bow package. It came off as a shock (my being spoiler free). First you have Lilly as the suspect wondering "Oh no, did she really do it." But you could see she was caught off as well. Then Hank appears. I guess he was basically stalking Moe too. If they hadn't have resolved it there would have been moans. There has been moans going on for weeks now many thinking that this Moe thing should have been resolved long ago. I liked the mixture of how the side story flowed with the case. It worked for me. It seemed Scotty is alerting Lilly to some action he is going to take in the near future. I loved the beginning setup of the case; the gal comes into head quarters and gives a reading for both detectives.

The Doors are awesome. It's almost cheeting. Moe's story was so abruptly concluded it was jarring. It easily could have (should have?) been it's own episode or worthy of a decent B story. Pretty hard knock on this ep especially in contrast to that epic Scotty scene last week. But the case itself was cool. Circuses always weird me out and this one was really interesting. Dynamite casting as well. The doer swerve was solid. If they could have tied in the victem's metamorphasis with a cast member metemorphasis, it would have pushed it over the edge. Overall I really enjoyed this ep and it was nearly a season's best.

At first, I didn't think I'd find this case interesting especially since it was centered around a circus. (I never really cared much for circuses. Clowns always scare me!) The way the case was reopened also seemed a bit weak to me too. But I ended up really liking this episode. Lots of twists I didn't expect, including two people present at the murder scene. Loved the Doors music, and I also agree that "Riders on the Storm" was used exceptionally well in that flashback where they were trippin out. Those scenes, along with the flashback of Mia's act, I thought were filmed really well. I gave the episode an "excellent" vote.
A theme throughout this episode was people covering other people's back. We saw this not only with Scotty covering for Lilly, but also with Biggie (a witness to Mia's murder) covering for Gargantuan. This makes me wonder if Hank really did kill Moe, since the storyline seemed to end abruptly. Did Hank really do it, or is he covering up for someone else? Like his wife? Or maybe even Lilly??

We don't hear anything about Hank stalking Moe or bothering him or anything of the like for the entirety of time that Season 7 is set in and then bam.....we're supposed to believe he got in his car somehow and shot him in the head? I don't know....like I said, a little weak.

Wow, boxman I wasn't even thinking any further because it's so like the writers to drop things and just move on.
Now Hank's wife as the doer would be interesting but so would Scotty and Lilly. I'm curious what you thought about Lilly and Scotty's talk on the roof. They really didn't converse but spoke kind of cryptically. I do not have the script as I didn't tape the episode. It was just an odd segment.

I personally loved this episode. The moment between Lil and Scotty was sweet. I knew from the beginning that Hank would be the doer of Moe... unless he is covering up for someone. I loved the music def. fitting for the episode. Where was Jefferies??? I do think they ended the Moe thing rather abrupt but you never know they might bring something around to twist it up. Overall a good episode, I was surprised by the doer... And. My little sister cried when Hank Killed Moe LOL

After re-watching the episode, I just wanted to point out how impressed I was with Sharni Vinson's performance as an aerialist, not just as Mia. I've seen Cirque du Soleil a few times and what some of them do with the silks is just phenomenal, and this was no exception. When you have no safety net or harness, you're working with just your own physical strength, and I thought she was incredibly impressive.

I think this was one of the best, for a lot of reasons. The DOORS music was just right on. I look for this one to at least be nominated for an Emmy.
My wife missed it last night so we both watched it tonight. I enjoyed it just like I did last night.
I agree the Hank stuff could be revisited, and it very well may be done, we will just have to wait and see.
BTW, the actor who played the GIANT, was Carel Struycken, or as I knew him, LURCH from the Addams Family.

They really didn't converse but spoke kind of cryptically... In the past, they've ended story lines abruptly many times before, so maybe we should expect this to be one more. You know, Christina is no longer heard from again, Ellen dies and there's no funeral, Joseph suddenly gets up and goes because he can't handle Lilly talking to an ex. So I guess the question is if this is another quick close or not? I'm kinda leaning on thinking "no", that there's more to this because of the change in production team and writers. Plus, yeah, Lilly and Scotty were pretty cryptic on the rooftop... It was sorta like Scotty was thinking "I know what you did, but Imma gonna let you start the conversation" kind of deal going on...

I will say... the only reason I don't think Scotty will be a killer... if by a small chance there is a season eight, having the storyline of him committing cold blooded murder will be a bit hard to deal with.
