Woah, solid episode in the personal stories all around this episode. Wonderfully acted scene with Scotty and the woman who was assaulted. Not shocked at the return of Jarrod either. It would make sense once he got his life back on track he'd want to see his daughter again. And I know how Kat feels... but if he truly has turned his life around, she has no right to bar him from seeing his daughter. As for Lily, thank god the stalking Moe storyline is over. Every episode that showed her stalking and harrasing him, my respect for her was ebbed more and more. You can't uphold the law or tell victims not to take the laws into your own hands while breaking it yourself. Sad to say, but Moe had every right to press charges against her. As to the case, not the most solid one this season but not the worst either. Tut's motive was similiar to the doer in Volunteers. A big bad gang leader on one hand, but really a informant on the other.

I thought this was a great episode, and for once I enjoyed the case just as much as the personal stories. Of course I am a stickler for cases centered around artists, and while some may argue that Carlos wasn't an artist, because of his chosen canvas, I say that he was. It was sad when his friend was killed trying to jump that ledge. Did anyone else notice that before that event Carlos wanted to put his name up high, but after his friend's death he went down into the sewers to paint a tribute to him. I mean, does anyone else besides me think there's something symbolic about the whole deal? As for the personal stories, on one hand I can see Kat's fear concerning her ex taking Veronica for two weekends a month, but on the other hand he needs to be given a second chance. The problem with Kat is that she's unwilling to give it; all based around her ex's actions in the past. And the Lilly storyline; I'm sorry, but I cracked up at that scene with her and Moe. I mean the entire scene can be summed up as this: Lilly: Moe: Lilly: Moe: Lilly: *blonde chick starts hugging onto Moe* Lilly: >=( Moe: ;D Lilly: D=< Moe: >=D Cop: OMG YOU CAN'T BE STALKIN' HERE! Lilly: OH S**T! *leaves* ...okay, now back to our regularly scheduled discussion. Seeing Moe at the end, I know some people are going to suspect that Lilly killed him, but I seriously have my doubts. The killing looked like it was done execution style at the back of the head; meaning that whoever had killed him was in the car at the time. If it was Lilly then I have to say that she was incredibly cold and ruthless.

It's late, so I'm just logging on to say I thought it was "excellent". The case itself was good, though I really didn't like how noticeable it was they weren't filming in Philly in several outdoor scenes. It really takes from the "suspension of disbelief", especially when one can easily see and figure out what city they were actually filming in. Set designers, though, did a really great job. For example, that was a very convincing PPA (Philadelphia Parking Authority) uniform on the guy who tapped on Lilly's car window. Quite possibly it was the real uniform? All three major side stories surrounding Scotty, Lilly and Kat were excellent and helped round up the episode. I'm looking forward to seeing how all of it plays out. Oh, and where was Vera tonight? Was he on a Valentine's date? ;D

The episode was OK. Let me explain all this in my opinion. 1- Three strong and excellent personal storylines. I liked the final 2 songs "Only you" and the other one. Liked seeing another Scotty, I meanm he's not the old cocky one... the classic macho type. He's a good person, now. I like his evolution. As a native Spanish speaker, his mom's accent does not sound Puerto Rican or Cuban... It's really odd and it seems like a Paraguayan or South American style. I loved the interrogation between Belen and Scotty! Kat: I understand her... I support her. Lilly: I mean, I really hate Moe.. Let's see what happens with this.
SPOILERS.... Don't read....
I have the feeling the season (or series) finale will try to solve Moe's murder. We will then learn that he wasn't that bad (or maybe that he was the Devil). Lilly will be clean, not guilty and then she will see his ghost at the end at Jones Tavern... that's just my suposition
Going on... Well... good storyline and music with a BORING BORING BORING case. Really, I know IMHO that we have had cases like "8 years" , "The dealer", "Breaking News"... and this season it was boring for me "Dead Heat" and "Soul" but at least "Dead Heat" had an extraordinary murder scene and final interrogation. At least "Soul" was from a year with no cases, with a female killer that at first you thought she would never... Familiar reunion but what did we have here? Boring murder scene, predictable doer, predictable plot... I felt this was an horrible-done case. Really... Denise Thé made a great job with "WASP" (The second best this season IMHO) but I couldn't feel any sympathy for this case. At first... the victim, I liked him but I think they should have shown more from him. That girl, horrible.
Good things from the case itself: -The initial flashback, Really good. That told us beforehand about the other kid who died... He was scared. -Carlos was a cool victim, they should have shown more about him. How he cared for the other kid. GOOD! -The murder method: Original (It'd have been better with a better filmed murder scene)... I had never seen this method before on the show.
In the end, The case could have been MORE THAN EXCELLENT but IMO... It was a no-no.
Also, the press release is wrong. This is not a 1983 case. This is from 1982

Have to agree with you about Kat Rev. I think her reservations stem not just from who Jerrod used to be... but who she used to be as well.

Though the episode as a whole ran a little hot and cold for me, this is one of my fav's of the season.
The absolute best scene was Valens interviewing the woman who had been raped. I think my jaw was on the floor by the time it cut to commercial.
The most unintentianally funny scene was that of Rush and Moe. Rev, you nailed it with your smilies!
The case was pretty solid. Interesting kill and I was into the characters despite my dislike of the actual act of bombing. The music worked well. Rapture by Blondie is always win, and the Clash in the teaser was great. Surprised there wasn't more rap style music. And I thought just about everyone involved could have been the doer. I enjoyed it all.
@ Edgar, thanks for pointing out that the writer, Denise The also did WASP. The two most memorable scenes of this year for me so far were written by her. The fountain scene when the women started singing and when Valenens finds out his mother was raped. Impressive.

I don't have alot of time for a reply but!!!!
I very much enjoyed this episode. But I agree with others that you could tell that they weren't filming in Philly. I am dying to know who killed moe!
I loved all of the advances in the personal storie lines like kat and her ex. And now we really know whats going on with scottys mom. and Lilly WTF! She really needs to pull herseld together before she does something she will regret! But personally I don't and hope that lil isnt the one who killed moe.
But I cant wait for next weeks episode!!!

I don't think Lily will be the one who killed Moe. Soley because as far as she went with the stalking of him, there is no way KM would allow Lily to become a cold-blooded killer.

A couple things about this episode:
Kat is waaaaay out of line concerning Jerrod. Yes, he used to be a banger and had a drug problem. But he's married now and has been clean for 5 years. Let the man see his daughter. Denying him access to her is only going to breed problems further on down the road, as I have friends who grew up in similar situations and it never ends well for anyone.
I loved the way Stillman wrote "closed" on Carlos's box, in the style of taggers. I thought that was a really neat tribute and the first time I think I've ever seen something like that personalized to the decedent. Very nicely done.
Overall, I thought it was a great episode. I thought it touched on a pretty cool part of the urban culture, especially during the late 70s and early 80s. Some may call graffiti art, some may call it vandalism, but some of the best tags I've ever seen (I grew up in Chicago) have been absolutely STUNNING, even if the people doing them aren't Rembrandt or Picasso. So kudoes to CC for shining a little light on that. I loved his tribute to Leon, and that quote by Thoreau has always been one of my favorites, and it was surprising to see it featured so heavily. I didn't know who the killer would be right away, and I liked that. It's good sometimes to keep people guessing until the very end.
I don't know who killed Moe, but I doubt it was Lilly. Yeah she was stalking him and she had her reasons for doing that, as wrong as they were.....but I can't see her escalating it to murder.

I was talking about the writing inside the book (there was writing on the first page of the book) not the title of the book.

I was talking about the writing inside the book (there was writing on the first page of the book) not the title of the book. It said "to (or for) the next Hemingway". Although the condo that Jeffries was looking at was situated in Boca Raton and Hemingway was very famous for living in the Keys, the Florida connection is still there.

I'm guessing it's Scardino or whatever his name is. Remember how he disappeared on Lilly and even gave her a gun.
At first when I saw the camera pan to the car I thought it was going to be Lilly in the car because it has always been Lilly out in the car watching. So that was tricky how they did this scene.
Kat - I do understand her concern. But since her former has made a complete turnaround with his life I think she is going to have to adjust to the fact that he can have rights to visit although I really thought those two were very presumptuous how they approached their meeting with Kat. It wasn't very respectful.
The case was quite interesting and I thought the art was excellent especially the art down in the tunnel for Turbo.

Hello boys and girls! Hey there, it's the Byrdman coming at you on this rocking Monday! I hope that you all are well and that your weekends went well, just as mine did! Wow, this was a great episode! I gave it an excellent . Missed Vera, but otherwise it was a great one! Man, I really felt badly for Carlos and Turbo. They were good guys. I'm glad that "King Tut" got arrested too. But man, the side stories were the big part of this tale for me! All the interweaving storylines - Kat and ADA Bell (and her daughter and the problems that her custody will bring with it), Jeffries and his writings (maybe I'm missing something there - does anyone know what that means?), Scotty and his mom (Man, I thought Scotty was going to blow his top when he found out what happened to that lady, and his mom as well - he may still), and Lilly and Moe Kichener. The season is coming to a good end for sure! Be sure to stay tuned, boys and girls!

Yeah, there's another reason why I don't think it was Lilly who killed Moe. No offense to Lilly, but she's not a very good stalker. Something tells me that if she had killed Moe, she would have made her presence known; probably would have provoked him into attacking her so she could shoot him, and claim self defense.

I have a feeling it was Saccardo. If Lilly did it, the show would probably end with her going to jail, I don't think that will happen. So Im going with Saccardo.

I think it was someone we don't know. Maybe(and likely) Moe was into some sort of criminal ring
