Trash Unsold ClothingThis is awful. I know many people in NY and other places go and get produce that is trashed and I'm sure they probably look in dumpsters for clothes but to deliberately do this when others are in need is unconscionable.

Reasons why I don't shop at either store. Companies like this, who will continue to do this and get away with it, make me fear for the future of mankind sometimes. One of the comments on the page also caught my eye, about restaurants throwing food away at the end of the day because it would "ruin their brand" if people could just eat it at shelters instead of paying for it. Seriously? Isn't the point that people are too poor to eat out, or at all, for that matter, and have to eat at the shelters?

Sad....and I shop at H & M too at the mall. They have some stylish clothing that fits my taste . Hmmm me too, TruBlu. I try not to think about it too much otherwise it would get me depressed. For example, a few weeks ago, I was filming a documentary and helping out with my friend's charity, Food For A Cause. We had a "Stuff-a-Bus" event, which is basically stuffing a bus with food so we were at the supermarket asking for people's food donations. One guy that I asked said to me, "Why should I give anything to these people? They haven't given me anything." It made me just want to clock the guy's head for his stupidity. Instead, I just walked away. I told my friend about this and was like, "They're impoverished, which is the whole reason why we're doing this to try to help them meet one of the most basic needs, food/nourishment."

That reminds me of something this one governor said. It was to the effect that those in poverty should not be helped, because then they would breed.
I wish I was joking.

That reminds me of something this one governor said. It was to the effect that those in poverty should not be helped, because then they would breed. I wish I was joking. I read that. It was some Republican of which his name I cannot remember. He misses the point completely. Aren't Republicans supposed to represent all those Bible belts? As well Republicans represent the right to bear arms, instigate wars and killing others. I've never been able to figure out their warped view on life. Let's see: Love, God, kill, take away from the poor and give to the rich. Palin's daughter get pregnant and has the baby without a husband which most Christians (at least when I was growing up felt was wrong) yet Palin gets angry when anyone brings it up. And Cheney pretending he hadn't a second daughter and who did not appear at the Republican convention on stage because Cheyney had to make it appear he had a straight family. Who do they fool? My disclaimer to this (and I may get censored by Trublu ) is that I favor neither the Democrats or the Republicans for they are part (IMHO) of the same machine that runs this country. When we want to go to war, "the machine" makes it so that we elect a Republican and when we want to spend then "the machine" makes it so that we elect a Democrat to try and fix what the Republicans ignored while in office cause they were too busy drumming up animosity against our enemies and illegally filtering our tax dollars to do so. Wasn't there a trillion dollars Cheyney could not account for? That's an awful lot of money to "go missing". Anyhow......that's all I have to say.

Actually I believe something similar as you. I stopped believing that our votes matter, because as you put it "the machine" makes us elect a certain person into the presidential office.
As for the first part of your comment, a lot of Bible Belters seem to hold the belief that if a person is in poverty then that means that God is angry at them, and punishing them. Of course they seem to forget about the story of Job where God permitted ha-satan to test Job, and I don't recall God doing it, because he was tiffed at Job.
Something that the Republicans should think about.

Ooh, Naj, I found something pretty incredible the other day. For some reason I was taking a look at the 613 laws of the Old Testament, and that's when I noticed something, or rather a few of the laws. One of them pretty much states,
"Do not refuse help to the poor."
A couple of others prohibit the act of gathering up the loose grain, and grapes, because these are for the poor.
Another law states that an employer should never hold back on an employees wages after the appointed time.
So, wow! These ant-poor/slaughter the poor 'Christians' can't even follow the Old Testament!

I love Wal-Mart. For my family, in the financial constraints we're in right now, Wal-Mart is a godsend in terms of keeping food in our house and other such necessities. I bought my toothpaste and mouthwash for about $6 combined and anywhere else, it would have been more expensive.
People can boycott the store if they want or rail against it, as everyone is entitled to their opinions, but sometimes people shop there out of necessity.

I have to confess that in hind sight I am a hypocrite. I dislike a lot of Wal-Mart's practices, but I still shop there, because there hygiene items, and groceries tend to be cheaper.
Although sometimes other stores can have good sales. Albertson's has been known to sell gallons of milk for $.99, because the milk is two days away from it's expiration date.
