They need to get the old writers back. With all the news I've been hearing, the new writers are NOT doing anything to boost the ratings, bring back the older writers who gave it more meaning.

Hey now, this one's just starting. Let's give them a chance before we rake them over the coals.

There are bigger factors as to why ratings are down vs the new writers. Many of the older writers left during the writer's strike.

I haven't seen any of the episodes, I'm going by what I have been told. The ratings went down even when they started this season apparently, maybe if the writers could do a b etter job with the storylines, people would actually tune in no matter how late. I do not like the storylines from what I have heard. I would be alot more happier if they had storylines like they did in season 1 & 2!

I truly hate the new writers. The only episodes I have trily loved are: WASP. Hood Rats was GOOD but the ending failed. The crossing was ok. Hated the others

Well, some episodes are better than others but it's always a matter of personal opinion. I always liked the episodes that were in some way connected to detectve's lives like Our Boy Is Back (the way that case messed with Vera's head), The Road (that one messing with Lilly's head) or The Good Death (connection between victim and Lil's mother). From this season Jurisprudence was nicely connected with Scotty, but somehow it felt like just another poor kid in bad situation. Same problem I had with Sanctuary, also connected with Scotty which was nice but there was nothing surprising/unusual about the situation.
I support new writers since they bring the new ideas and new perspective but sometimes they also should stick to what had worked before or what people truly loved. I feel that earlier seasons were better since most episodes there were not so 'real life,' not so 'I saw that story on the news,' but again that is just my opinion.

Like I said people; let's see what this new writer brings before we go raking them over the coals.

After watching her work (script) I lave to keep an eye out for more of her work. It was great episode, nicely written with some twists and turns that I didn't expect. The rap and gang connection, even though it felt as a common thing, was done smoothly without much emphesis on the gang and brutality of gangs. The life of people in the episode wasn't stereotypical and it was so good to see that. Overall job well done!

"Wasp" was written by a new writer. This site has deemed it the best of the season so far. I'd bet it will remain so.
Second best also by a "new writer."
I think a few things are going on with this season that is unique and not to be dropped on any of the writers, especially the new ones.
The season is seriously on the bubble. Any show in cancellation mode will do things to shake up the status quo to attract new viewers. And that comes from the Top, and rolls down.
I'd expect even bigger changes as the season progresses and even a Hail Mary.
Let's hope the new time slot will help pick up viewers and give CBS confidence in the show.

Maybe they saw some of the season six episodes (Breaking News, Lotto Fever) and realized new blood was needed.

I do not get it. I love CC. I have loved every episode that I have ever watched. I have never watched a CC episode and thought that was boring, or crap ect. I am surprised to hear people complain about the writing. I have felt a difference with the writing, but I assumed it was due to the show going on for so long. This is the only show I watch faithfully, I really have no complaints and I really enjoy the show. I know everyone is different I am just surprised. Welcome to the new writer!
