I'm aware there is a post about season 7 ratings. However, I'd thought I'd post this little gem from the tvbythenumbers posting...
Actually bud, the sports playoffs are a reason it's gotten low ratings. Throw in the Ten p.m. time slot (which CBS knows it won't do well in) a crappy program leading into it and the fact it will start from five to 45 mins late....well, that's why you have your low ratings. All legitimate reasons, not excuses as this guy snidely puts it.

Cold Case wasn’t pre-empted or bumped late by football this season, but against the Yankees ALCS clinching game fell to its lowest rating of the season. Of course for its excuse generating fans, if it’s not one thing, it’s another! It can’t just be that not many people want to watch the show. That’s way too simple a reason.
