Looks like Scotty's parents will make an appearence in this episode. Damn!  Either I'm just a good guesser or the writers read my post in the "Season 7 spoilers" thread from last week: Actually maybe they could show some family of the other characters. We've never seen Scotty's parents, for example. I wonder who'd be a good choice to play them? As for the episode itself, the link only has descriptions for Scotty's folks, and said nothing of the case itself. I had no idea what a "hoodrat" is, so I googled it and the first hit was from urbandictionary.com: www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=hood+rat1) A girl who sleeps with various men in the neighborhood. Usually noticeable via her slacking standards of personal care 2) A ghetto ass girl who hangs out with all the ghetto guys and thinks it's cute to be a slutt (sic) 3) hood rat: A straight slut from the hood.. the kind or girl that has probablly slept with you and four of your best homies... Usually lazy as hell ..they are known to party a lot.. easy to take advantage of. My guess is this will be a female victim. Could be from just about any year. |

There's no info about the case yet. However, it looks like Scotty is worried that his mother is having an affair. Also, since people are curious about the cast members who will be missing from certain episodes, Scotty and Jeffries are both in this one.

I rather assumed if any of the main cast would be absent, it would be Vera, Jeffries, and Miller.
As for Scotty's parents, I wonder if what happened with his brother will come up.

Just to clarify, there are only two short scenes available from this episode at the moment. All I can see is that Scotty and Jeffries are both definitely in the ep, but I'm sure that more of the main cast is in it too. We'll find out more soon. The whole cast is present for the season premiere, that I could tell.

Any info on the case yet? I think hoodrats was a definition in the 90s from the wikipedia. I think it might be a 90s or a recent case...

Wow. I was WAY off on guessing what this episode would be about!
I tried not to look at TOO many of the casting sides to avoid being spoiled.
I actually wonder if any professional skateboarders will end up being cast in this one. I recall that Tony Hawk played a skateboarding murder victim in an episode of CSI Miami a few years back and Bruckheimer shows have a history of using guest actors from each other's shows...

remembered back in the day that skateboarding was a huge trend in the mid 90s was not that big into it, tried it myself and failed LOL

For those (like me) who don't want to read the cast listing, here is a little more info. The victim is a 17 year old skateboarder from New Jersey named Nash Simpson. The case is opened with the help of an old cop friend of Stillman's. It looks like the music is going to be a little edgier than what we're used to hearing on a Cold Case episode.
The entire main cast is in this episode as well. However, there is a mention of the department cutting back on its budget because of the tough economic times. I am wondering if they will explain the absence of a main cast member by saying that due to budget cuts, some of the squad will have to spend some time working "hot" cases, like Vera and Jeffries were still doing at the beginning of the series. This is just a guess though.
