Omg I really liked this eppy hehe. Mainly because I loved the last song that they used, "Apologize" by OneRepublic. OMG I love that song!

This episode had a little bit of everything, I thought. A little bit of each character, a tiny bit of romance, a good portion of tragedy, some nicely spun suspense and a good whydunit. It was a well rounded episode, I really enjoyed it, but it didn't touch me enough to rate it Season's Best.
I'm so glad Vera and Kat saved the mom and the little girl though. They were completely innocent, it was killin' me to think they'd end up being casualties. And while I initially sympathized with the doer, in the end he was so arrogant, so ruthless--even to the point of killing his own brother's family--I couldn't help hating him in spite of his character. He got a raw deal, it's true. But that happens to lots of people, and that doesn't mean you can go around killing innocents.
Overall an excellent episode.

The episode seemed to be slow and drawn out but it shows how people can get upset over things. Even though, you aren't alone with things that you can't do because of policy.
I loved Stillman talking to the guy and was thinking, what would you have done if he had a bomb, huh?
I hated it when Lilly and Scotty didn't show concern for their friends, sheesh!!
Why didn't Lilly and Scotty give Nick and Kat a pat on the back or a hug. Or at least Scotty give Kat a hug and Lilly give Nick one.

Good episode. I must confess that I'm not a huge fan of serial killer episodes on Cold Case. I think the show's strength lies in letting us get to know the victims. Plus, I watch CSI / Criminal Minds etc, so there's only so many times you can wonder why someone turned into a monster. Having said that, this was probably the best of all the serial killer episodes, because I did feel some sympathy for Alessandro. The victims weren't completely innocent, either. I could almost understood if Alessandro hadn't cold heartedly planned their murders. If he'd maybe vandalised their homes, or destroyed something they'd loved. Thought it was appropriate that Alessandro saw his victims at the end. I did enjoy the relationship between Luke and Alessandro. Excellent performances from both actors. I know this is Lilly's show, but Stillman stole it this episode. His negotiation with Alessandro was calm, strong, and sympathetic. He was brilliant. The way he sat down and emphasized with Alessandro on that bench. Kat and Vera must be superheroes to get the wife and daughter safe so quickly. I noticed both of them looked a bit dirty at the end. They both seemed to recover pretty quickly from nearly being blown up, since it was never mentioned again. I've mentioned it before, but the love lives of our team do not do well on rewatch. I'm so glad they got rid of ADA (I couldn't even remember her name and had to look it up) Thomas . She was boring and annoying. I think Kat got the best ADA . Did they get a special on One Republic? This was the second episode in as many episodes to end with one of their songs. At least we got to hear Last Christmas.
