Boxman, I took the "Blue Blood" reference to be a tongue-in-cheek jab by the writers to their own show. After all it is set in Philadelphia but filmed and cast entirely out of Hollywood. I didn't know about the working title for the BBC version of "Conviction". Also, Lilly is never going to let poor Scotty off the hook, is she? Anytime someone mentions liars or lying, she drops another snide remark in his direction. Too bad, really. They need to patch things up already and get over it!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks they need to patch things up. You could be right about "Blue Blood" being CC taking a jab at itself. Philadelphia has a sizeable theatre community and I've met a few actors and directors from hanging out at bars. Most know they have to go to NYC or LA if they want to get really serious with their careers. Still, they did do open casting here for minor parts for "Rocky 6", and I know some who have done extras work for various movies that were filmed here. No one, though, has commented anything about Cold Case, and I haven't seen anyone on the show I recognize as a local actor. (Of course, I don't know that many actors either, so that's not saying much.) So you definitely could be correct about it being a self-reference joke.

I think I loved this episode wayyyyyyy too much ^__^ *clicks "excellent" on voting*
I loved the whole thing with Lilly hating musicals, and how the guys (and Kat) were singing, lol!!!
And I have a sick and twisted obsession with Adam Pascal (dennis) so I was, like, screaming at the top of my lungs every time he started singing, lol

Nora, the blonde lead actress, notes that "Barry Turk", the NYC agent, also represents Robert DeNiro. Does anyone have a "Rent" video (that both Adam Pascal and Tracie Thoms appear in)?? Look on the back. DeNiro was a producer for the movie "Rent"!! www.sonypictures.com/homevideo/rent/index.htmlwww.imdb.com/title/tt0294870/fullcredits
Kat doesn't wear a black leather jacket in this episode...but she does have a scene where she's between two cabs. Hmmm..... :smile6:

Better late than never! I just watched this episode. It was fun. Good comedy relief all through the episode, kinda necessary to balance out the other stronger, uglier feelings. So much envy, so much ambition! I don't pretend to know "show business", but I danced semi-professionally for a couple of years and I remember pretty darn well what it felt like. It really is a dog eat dog world, and even though Lyle was crazy, I can totally buy one wannabe actor hurting another in order to catch the spotlight. Good acting. And omg, the ending montage was priceless, with the guys getting together and Vera singing. Nice detail. I wonder why Lil hates musicals so much? It's like she thinks they're the silliest things on this planet. Maybe Patrick used to take her to musicals and get all goggle-eyed and sappy. ;D

I started really getting into cold case about 6 weeks ago and since then have watched from season 1 and i'm just about half way through 5.Have to say being a Rent geek this episode made me squee quite a lot! Adam Pascal and Tracie!Shame they didn't have any scenes together due to the nature of the programme but I really liked it.Like others have said quite a light hearted episode

Welcome to the board, tiggsy.
I totally, totally agree with you about "Wilkommen"; it's one of those wonderful episodes I could watch a billion times and still love the heck out of it. So much fun... and, like you mentioned, the casting of Adam Pascal was nothing short of brilliance.
;D

This was a good episode and I liked it. I think Lilly's hatred for musicals is kinda like those who hate rap music or classical music. Loved the ending and I swear, I thought Lilly was going to sit on the Boss' lap at first when I saw this episode. Liked the detective work and Vera was soo cool too..

Hearing Natasha Richardson singing at the end made me sad a little, since she's since passed away. She had a lovely voice.

Who else thinks Cold Case missed an opportunity by not doing an episode based on "Grease"? I always thought this had potential, but they never attempted it.
