Eduardo: Great points!!!! I like what you said about Ed being a normal guy. I felt the same way about the character. He was a good guy that just had "bad luck."
Cello: I think you're right, we've never really had an over-the-top sex scene. I was thinking specifically of some of the stuff with that ADA from last season. Scotty and her making out on her desk, etc. I think the skimpiest we ever saw Lilly was in those ugly boxer shorts during her Joseph trists.
In the interest of parity I'll be rooting for the gals to get their long awaited "Scotty naked except for boxer shorts" shot! (of course with the writers' sense of humor, you're also going to get Vera in the same shot.)

The jumping scene is not from an old episode, it's more likely from an episode yet to come or possibly a deleted scene from this episode. Trust me Lilly has never jumped over a fence before in six seasons. I now think it could be a deleted scene from an old episode and another thing Did Jeffries get the Vera's pin number

Did Jeffries get the Vera's pin number Yep. In, like, fourteen seconds.

I can't wait!!! I think Vera's rumble in the hay would be more comical. I think he's more of a "fumbler" type lover. ;D I have to rewatch it as I missed how Jeffries got Vera's pin. I loved the Jones hanging out at the end. Maybe they should all go bowling sometime!

yeah Naj; the final scene at Jone's was excellent... well, this episode was excelent and in my first post I stated why as a CC Hard fan I found this episode to be excellent(not like Wednesday's women, The Road or A time to hate) but was excellent...
We had a normal victim with situations that can happen to everyone... Ed was such a good person without being the classic heroic victim(don't get me wrong, I love heroic victims too but we need normal people sometimes)

The jumping the fence thing, enough it's not from an old episode period. One thing did strike me, I recall Scotty playing the lotto in " The hitchhiker" a season 1 episode. So much for him saying that he doesn't play it.
@ cello- We're you thinking about DP's appearance on the shield Again, he was practically in his boxers. That would be fine but not a whole sex scene, I don't think CC is that type of show to display such acts.

I looked at the preview again (you can see it here,) there's also a quick shot of Vera & Kat running on the sidewalk. I think the guys who edit the previews are teasing us.

Thanks Irishkale... I can recall the Vera & Kat scene running...From an old episode... This preview for lotto fever was one of those few reviews that use scenes from old episodes... I can't re watch all the cold case episodes now because I'm busy with college and work but I remembered the scene where Kat Miller was holding a photo was from "It takes a village" and the one with Scotty pushing a man against a car was from "Running around"
from season 5 both so maybe we should re watch season 5...

That scene with Scotty pushing a man against a car, was indeed from 5X03- Running around.

Right i just was explaing it for the viewers whom haven't seen S5 yet.
Here's another thing why would they show Scotty scratching off a lotto ticket in " The Hitchhiker", then show him not really at all interesting in playing the lottery in this episode?

That would be fine but not a whole sex scene, I don't think CC is that type of show to display such acts. I don't think she was comparing DP's role in CC with any of his other roles; she just making the point that - in general - the sex scenes we're given on CC (irregardless of which characters are involved, though in this case it happened to be Scotty) aren't what would really be defined as 'over-the-top sex scenes', as Irishkale had previously described them. That said, Irishkale did already correct and clarify his former statement, so... just to clarify, for you, the point that was actually being made.

If I'm not wrong, The Hicthiker was aired on December 21, 2003... 5 years ago so maybe he lost interest in lottery... Another explanation is that since the show has new writers(unfortunately, because the older ones were better) they just did not know all details happened before

I just caught that. I remember the conversation from a season one episode but I couldn't remember it until I found it just now. (I was all pleased with myself, picking up this little tidbit, and it never occurred to me someone else might catch it first!) Well, we can't always expect the writers to remember a five-second passing conversation years later. Only reason I recalled it is I'd seen that part of the episode recently.

I was just taking another look at this episode... I was curious about something.. did they ever tell us how Ed & shelly met, or if their relationship was romantic? There was some nice scenes in there that seemed like Shelly had a crush on him (or vice versa.)

If I'm not wrong, she was a cashier in a store Ed always bought something(I do not know what It was) Romantic? I think she had a crush on him and he was staring to feel the same before he was killed

My understanding is that Shelly was a cashier at a convenience store near where Ed worked; she gave him free refills in exchange for discounts on her car repairs. Romantic or not, their relationship sure was cute.
