I wasn't disagreeing about the relevance of the song. It clearly fit the ending they wrote and the imagery they wanted. I was just pointing out that the usage of the song was anachronistic. Yep, I see what you mean, sorry I meant I thought It was harder to find songs for Old cases... LOL. Yep, not easy to imaging, that they already had radio, movie, even first forms of TV, and ways to record nearly a hundred years ago, even though there was no internet or cd. Teenager years of modern mass entertainment, so to speak. Think it's not the only time a song was anachronistic, not quite of the year of the case. Though IMO not always easy to tell, what song belongs to what year, date of release, charts, radio or sales ... In this case though, pretty obvious, that the song couldn't be connected actually to the year of the case. Guess we agree, music departement is doing nevertheless a great job. Like other departements do to create those flashbacks of different periods and backgrounds. They have to do it for every episode, wow. Amazing. Would love to hear more from them about their work. The only other shows I know, which did something alike more or less every week are science fictions shows, time traveling. Would like particular a special about this episode. The Making of the 100th episode.

Hi Myril =]
Music is one of the other things I love about cold case... I even have a playlist with all the music played on the show. However, Sometimes music can be a powerful tool. The episode "Glory Days" was originally a 1974 case but later(because of the music) They changed the year to 1973(one of the year with more cold cases)... I still think they could have used 1972-1973 music in a 1974 episode...
Talking about this episode...yep the song was not released the same year but I have always said that the songs dont have to be from the same year but from that era(Obviously they could not use a 60's song in a 80's case: Oh! I forgot Blood on the tracks, but that one has only music from Bob Dylan) but It's ok if there are few years of difference
Music department doing a great job/Right! I like how sometimes they integrate the music to the case(6.09 Pin Up girl)

One of the season's best for sure!! And the 100th episode!! hehe!!
I really old cold case but so nicely developped: The rumours about the woman, the economic crah and the social condition, the famous Orson Wells' hoax, the old cars and above all, people's reaction at the "End of the World"... I loved that they focused on Vera and his feelings for Toni. He was so cute! Ups and throughs of history and emotion and Lil playing the victim at the end. One of the whole series' best!

I for one disagree, I felt that this episode was very weak. It should have more of a developed storyline. It wasn't the series best for me personally, but I liked how they used the word " Always", and connected it with the end song which was : Always.

I really enjoyed World's End and felt it was perfect for a 100th episode. I loved Vera's character in this episode as well! There were some uncanny resemblences to Audrey's life that I wondered had the writers been looking at one of my own personal journals. However, this episode was a good question to ask who would you want to be with when the world ends and is a great setup for the season finale, Stalker, and what Lilly confronts about her life at the episode's ending scenes.

I agree with those who liked the Kat/John dancing and Nick/Toni scenes.
That's amazing that one guy could create so much trouble back then. I liked how Lilly got Felton to confess but I don't know if he would have much jail time.

I personally hated Audrey's hypocrisy. So Will was scum and a bad person for "lying" about still being married?! I guess Audrey forgot she was still married too but I guess it was okay in her book because her marriage had died years ago. Seriously, no way they would have tried doing that speech if it had been Felton. Audrey didn't deserve what she got but I couldn't view her as someone to be admired either.

As someone who has written Cold Cases, I can tell you that finding songs to specifically match the year of a case is not always easy. The year a song hit the charts may not always be the year that the song was released or in production. Generally speaking, I try to keep a two year ranges around the year of cases, but I have cheated this range a number of times.
Another point regarding historical accuracy, I had heard that the stories of the War of the Worlds panic were actually widely exaggerated. Ratings for this broadcast and the simultaneous Edgar Bergen broadcast were actually not high enough to support the level of hysteria associated with the panic stories.
