I was just wondering if it might be possible to start a thread for information about Philadelphia. As a fan fiction writer I like my stories to be as believable and authentic as possible. Unfortunately, having never been to Philadelphia, I know very little about the city other than what I can gleen from the Internet. And sometimes the information I'm looking for can be difficult (if not impossible) to find. Information like where is the prostitute district (if any) in Philly, is there a warehouse district, what parts are strictly residential and which are business, etc. I was thinking of a thread where the members could pose the questions they have and someone who lives in or near Philly (or at least has knowledge of it) can respond. I know that some people have posted information about Philly on this site and that information is going to be very helpful in writing stories. But the thread I was thinking of would be something a bit more refined so that writers who need something a bit more specific might be able to find the answers they need. I just finished a story that involved a serial killer murdering prostitutes but since I couldn't find online where that area of town is I had to make vague references to the prostitute district. It would be really helpful if there was a specific thread where I could ask a question like that and have someone give an answer, something like Elm Avenue or Constitution Boulevard or whatever the location is. I think this kind of thread would be extremely useful and would help add a touch of realism to the stories people write.
