During the episode" Into the Blue", what if Lilly went on a personal Journey in her mind while inside of the car.
Reviews are appreciated, I worked for a month or more to try and get this one right. Any feedback would be very nice.
The water was still, dark and cold as the lonesome car that contained detective Lilly Rush; remained nestled. Inside her head laid against the steering wheel, as her nightmares ascended on the case with a couple of flashbacks of her past thrown in for good measure. Her pulse was dropping but she wasn’t aware about how lonesome she now was.
A light then flashed, displaying Lilly’s reactions as her car ascended over the bridge. Her heart was pumping blood so fast, that it had almost exploded inside of her chest; while she breathed in heavily. She didn’t want to die, not here and certainly not all alone inside of a car. As the car hit the water, Lilly screamed loudly, knowing that her own death was near.
This was replaying itself inside of Lilly’s head, but except now she was unable to wake up. She tried so much but the water had pulled her down with its arms, incasing her in its fiery arms. Flashes of her blood, fire and rain were all mixed together, until everything went black.
Lilly now had found herself walking deep inside of a tunnel, until finding herself alone on a street. For a second it almost had reminded her of the neighborhood that she had once resided in; but clearly it wasn’t. While she walked along, her eyes caught a glimpse of a young redheaded girl; trying to learn how to ride a bike.
Then the girl fell, as blood tricked down her leg. Lilly tried to run but found that the ground was like cement; sticking her there. All that she could do now was watch, as a man rushed over and tended to her wound. Even after a hug and kiss, the girl then got onto her bike; which perhaps resembled the same bike that her father had once given to her.
Although it wasn’t one that had a banana seat; it was damn well close. When the father let go of the bike, the tone of his voice was filled with excitement as the girl continued to pedal along without any assistance. Lilly then followed the girl, until she disappeared into the sunset.
Blinking again, Lilly then felt herself being swiped up into the heavy winds; before it she found herself staring into a mirror. Instead of her own reflection; it was her still inside of the car. Her face pressing against the steering wheel; as her body remained soaked and saturated in water.
Lilly gasped, while the echoing sound of her heartbeat was now being heard. She listened hearing that it was indeed slowing down, knowing that she had to choose between life and death.
Just then she turned seeing her own mother standing there, but she looked merely sober rather than her usual drunken state. Ellen Rush then held out her hand, as Lilly tried to reach for it but found that she couldn’t.
As her mother’s lips had moved the say something, she couldn’t make out what her mother was trying to say Then as Ellen stepped back into the darkness; now leaving her daughter all alone with the reflection of her own self underneath water.
That in itself was scary, quite scary. Just watching herself like that, Lilly began to realize that she had to change. However the mirror image was gone, before her body crumpled up like crumbles before being scattered into the wind.
When her body had returned back to its normal state, Lilly found herself face to face with a strange man with dark black eyes. The man said nothing except leading her into a room, inside of that was a table with a chess board.
Lilly then sat down as he then joined her, however the man didn’t speak to her. As she then looked up, she saw her father now sitting there. He also didn’t speak as he then got up, leaving the already scared and shocked blonde alone. Just then the still vengeful sprit of George Marks appeared, grinning at her saying something about how she’d be alone like him.
He was wrong; and still was for that matter. Rather than confronting now and evil demon now rotting in a pit beneath the surface; Lilly got up and tried to leave. Finding that the water was creeping in through the crevices; she tried opening the door but now found that it was open. The only way that Lilly could leave this place was to jump.
Inside of Lilly there were two parts; one that wanted to die and another that wanted to live. She herself couldn’t decide on the right path. Behind her, she felt someone trying to push her along; somehow Lilly slipped and fell forwards.
Like a film winding, it now showed many sequences in her life.
A flash of a fetus was shown in its warm, watery environment as a soft heartbeat was heard, as everything went dark. When it came to light again, a baby’s cries were heard as Lilly saw her own baby hand holding onto her mother’s.
The light went out again, as Lilly continued falling forward with flashes of pain stemming from her childhood. It even lasted into her adulthood as well, but she knew the pain was unbearable but found that she needed to let it go.
When Lilly had finally landed safely on the ground, she found that her mother was already there. Still she didn’t say a word, as a car was being pulled from out of the water. A cart with a body bag was in the middle of being wheeled into the van. Lilly heard the familiar sounds of her squad but couldn’t make out what they were saying.
Everything was muffled; kept in like her own emotions. The light then went out, but when it clicked on she saw that the body was that of her. Lilly gasped quietly, upon seeing her pale, cold body just lying there. However the person whom was standing there wasn’t Stillman, but her own father.
His eyes looked at her still now cold body while his heart filled up with sorrow. When Lilly had tried to speak, she found that the words were now tiny water bubbles. What was the strangest part about it was that Lilly could feel her father’s hand gently touching her face; even though her body was lying on the table.
It felt comforting to feel that; a comfort that she terribly missed. Now with her cold, dead body lying there on the slab; Lilly felt herself disappearing into thin air. When she appeared again, she had found herself; watching every single relationship that she had even been in; it had hurt to see how Lilly would push herself away to be at work.
She knew that she had done this to her own self; and for what reason to be alone again? Then the light came on, showing both her and Saccardo in a passionate kiss at the bowling alley. How for the first time, Lilly could relay that same feelings that he had for her back; but now he was gone.
Deep within her heart, she felt that large crack; that never really went back. Perhaps Lilly needed to let all the negative things go in her life; in order to move on and be happy. The next question was; could she really.
While Lilly was busy figuring that out, she found herself sinking underneath the cold, water. There was a car; peering in she now saw herself inside; almost lifeless.
There right in front of her eyes, was the letter from her father. Reaching out Lilly, clasped it in her hand as it felt like a hard force, deep within her. Just then a sharp light emerged before she found herself being pulled from inside of the car.
Flashes of her past life appeared before her, before Lilly took that deep breath of sweet air. She gasped while the oxygen flowed into her lungs; like it had the day she was first born. Then everything came back, she rambled about the case. Why well, it was the last thing that Lilly’s mind was on right before her car had been pushed over into the river.
Still in her hand, was the letter from her father? That had symbolized, just how much he had meant to her. Lilly never had stopped loving him; even after what had happened. She knew that forgiving him; was going to happen. Was this what she had been holding onto all this time, or was it something else?
After the paramedics secured her in the stretcher with a warm blanket, Lilly’s body racked with chills; while being wheeled towards a waiting ambulance.
With the ghost of Kate Butler passing by, and Scotty pretending to really care; her mind wasn’t really paying too much attention to anything. Once inside the ambulance, she felt Stillman’s pushing her hair away from her forehead. For a moment, her eyes saw him as a younger man. He had always been a father figure; but then Lilly’s eyes drifted closed.
When her eyes flickered opened again, she felt someone holding her hand. Her head turned slightly, to see that she did have a family; her father. His eyes were of worry and concern; but with a slight breath; Lilly then closed her eyes; to see her six year old self; happily riding that bike into the sunset.
She was now set free; and awaited her next journey in the present day.
