I actually think it's unfair to every actor/actress on Cold Case, they are in beyond need of an emmy.

Unfortunately, I really can't say I'm surprised, and given that this is pretty much par for the course, I don't think anyone else should be either.
That's not to say I wouldn't hold it up to any of the other usual award darlings, but given that the show has never seemed to be one people talk about, despite consistently strong ratings, I don't see it being one on the radar when awards season comes.
Interestingly, "24", a show talked about very much has been, aside from Kiefer, rather overlooked as well. I believe only Gregory Itzin and Jean Smart have been acknowledged as well, while equally great performances by Carlos Bernard, Dennis Haysebert, Xander Berkeley, and Penny Johnston-Jerald have been snubbed.
And don't get me started on the obvious bias against sci-fi/fantasy show, no matter how acclaimed (Star Trek, Buffy, BSG, etc.) Admittedly some "Lost" actors have gotten nods, as did Masi Oka from "Heroes" (though no love for Jack Coleman as HRG?) but that's a rare thing.

Cold Case is in the running for Drama along with one hundred other shows it appears. There's still hope. ;D

Hey, so Cold Case isn't in there, but some other really, really good shows are in there, too!  Just an idea, we should start a thread in OT about this so we can actually discuss the other shows nominated and stuff like that, which ones we want to win in which categories, etc. Since this is in the general for Cold Case, we can't really do that here. |

Mainly because as Todd said, despite this show's good ratings it's not a heavily talked about show. If anything, I think that Cold Case will be considered one of those shows with a cult following, and those types of shows are rarely if ever awarded by the mainstream.
Also, I'm not that easily surprised anymore.

Come on, CC hasn't been nominated for earlier and even better seasons... Would it be nominated now for first time??
I agree with TRB. Τhe type of the show isn't for mainstream.
Also, the whole cast and team are too quiet. They do their jobs without attracting the attention of the media.
