I had this question posed to me the other day by a non-Cold Case watcher..GASP, I know who wouldn't want to watch Cold Case.
However, it dawned on me, what episodes would I show them in order to get them hooked on the show.
So I am looking for some help in this. Give me a list of at least 5 episodes that would make anyone a Cold Case fan.
I have looked through the forum and could not find a thread for this, but if there is one, please direct me that way.

@longirlyy you mean the episode 4x19.Offender.
My suggestions... 1. Look Again (Which is better introduction than the pilot itself?) 2. MindHunters + The woods (Excellent example of case, acting and directing)
As for others it has to do with your friend. If he/she likes cases... 3. Death Penalty final appeal 4. Lonely Hearts 5. Thick as thieves 6. Hubris 7. Resolutions
If he/she likes psychological and more "dark" situations... 3. One night 4. It takes a village 5. Offender 6. Thrill kill 7. Justice
Some of these categories adding 8. The Road (Of course...!!) 9. World's end 10. The episode with the oldest case ever (I don't remember the title)

That would be too hard... ;D I know, 5 out of 132 is difficult, really honestly someone needs to watch all 132! However it only took one episode for me to get hooked: "Look Again" and that was about a year ago when I caught it on TNT. I know I was a late edition to the fold, & I could just kick myself now for not watching from the beginning. I have Mindhunters & The Woods ready and waiting so I just need some more to add to it. We have about a day and a half to watch so feel free to mention as many as you like. Yes I have them on DVD if that was your next question, love a DVR and a DVD recorder! ;D

hmm Strange fruit (season 2) The good death (season 4) The sleepover (season 2) Mindhunters/The woods (season 2 unreal stuff) Fly Away (season 1) Sherry darlin (season 1) The plan (season 1) I can't remember much from season 3, The patrick Bubley one was pretty good. Thrill Kill would be the only one I reccomend from season 5. The Brush Man (season 6 - I was actually surprised at how good this episode was, and I love the VU)

1) Look Again--the first case and sort of sets up the format. 2) A Perfect Day--I had watched the show before and liked it but this is the episode that really got me hooked. It's a good case with a lot of interesting twists, great acting and an excellent final montage. 3) Fireflies--A great episode with a really good sense of time and place. This is also my favorite ending of any Cold Case episode. 4) Fly Away--The first episode I saw, which I found compelling enough to make me want to watch the show again. 5) Beautiful Little Fool--My favorite of the really old cases. I think the sense of time and place is wonderful in this one, and I loved the original music.

wow only 5? it is hard ... but I recommend if you like emotional cases:
The Goodbye Room / A dollar a dream / shuffle, ball change / Cargo / Forever Blue (season 4) The sleepover / Strange fruit / Revenge / Wishing / Daniela / Best friends (season 2) Fly Away / Boy in the box / Resolutions / Maternal Instincts (season 1) The Road / It takes a Village / Andy in C menor (season 5) A perfect Day / One Night / Bad Night / Family / The promise (season 3) Triple threat / True Calling (season 6)
in my opinion is hard to choose the best because all ep are great. if you like Action:
Mindhunters / The woods (season 2) The Stalker (season 4) and more. =D

Thanks everyone who listed some episodes...she is officially a Cold Case Lover! Add another one to the fold! I got two more hooked with the DVR episodes, all it took was the episode "Fireflies" and it got them!

Churchgoing People is another. It helps shatter several sterotypes about domestic violence and once again shows that what goes on behind closed doors is often very different from what we see on the outside.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend "Stalker", "Thrill Kill", "The Woods" or "Mindhunters" to your friend until (s)he is into "Cold Case." They're detective-heavy cases and I think it's probably better to watch them when you have a good idea of the characters and really love them. I'd recommend "Blackout", "Justice", "Rampage", "Revenge" and "The Plan." They're my personal favourites, anyway!

I showed my friend just one episode 'Best Friends' and I got her hooked-up on CC She's from GLBT community and I knew she's going to like it. It actually made her cry, btw it always makes me cry too I got my father to watch CC after I showed him 'Church going people' (he hates fanatic 'just for show' church-goers) and 'Willkommen' since he's a musician and likes musical theatre So, if you have a friend/family member that you want to become a CC fan just show them something that will be close to their heart and I bet they will want to see more
