I haven't really followed AI since the Taylor Hicks. I wasn't impressed. I've half watched some of the others notable when Jordan Sparks won.
I realize that Adam isn't well liked by younger people because of his style (rock - 9 inch nails) and younger people like Kris for his style. But AI has always been decided upon who is the better voice? Hasn't it?

AI has been funky, in that people who should have won, haven't. Take, for example, Taylor Hicks. There is no way in heaven that he should have won over Chris Daughtry, but because people thought he was "safe" Chris went home in 3rd place.
I would think that it would be the other way around; the younger generation would like Adam better because he's a little rough around the edges, over Kris who is very clean. But, I haven't really, really watched since the second season. I usually catch the finale so that I can see who I should be looking out for. I would vote for Adam; he's more outgoing and I think they need that in an AI right now.

I couldn't stand Taylor Hicks, I so wanted Chris to win that year. This year I was rooting for Danny but that didn't happen. Now I want Kris to win just because that's more of the type of music I listen to, but I think Adam will win and that won't disappoint me either. He's been really gutsy with his performances and he's very talented as well, so he'd deserve it too. Actually, this has probably been the best top four in all 8 seasons, in my opinion anyways. ;D

I've been following this Adam Lambert thing very closely and appearances are deceiving. The judges are saying Adam is the clear frontrunner but people downloading are downloading Kris and Kris beat Adam in last week's votes by over a million votes. Even I voted on the phone over the two hour stretch! Imagine that. I really believe that Adam deserves it but I don't think that's going to happen. Of course I'd be delighted if Adam won. ;D

I think the judges have put a lot of emphasis on Adam, I think he's the clear winner in their minds, so I always take for granted that's what everyone else thinks They're both so unique and different, it could be anyone's game. I think it'll be good show on Tues & Wed.

I think it'll be good show on Tues & Wed. It appears, this year, that the public who buy the music are going for Kris and they are the ones voting. I mean let's look at the top 4: Danny, Kris, Adam, and Allison. Allison and Adam are rockers. Danny and Kris are similar. Danny's votes are most likely going to go for Kris. It might be a blowout even though Adam is most clearly the best singer. I mean Adam has the whole package: voice and range, stage presence, etc.. Kris also has it but not at Adam's caliber. I really want Adam to win but I think Kris will beat him.

They're both great singers but I do think that Adam is a better performer. I like Kris for his softer more bluesy singing but I like Adam's edginess. So now I'm sitting on the fence, I still think that Adam might win but I also thought Danny would be in the final. So I guess we'll see what happens.

I agree Adam is the better singer but I believe that Kris has that John Mayer sound going for him and that's what's popular. They both are good in their own right but I still feel Adam deserves the win. I can't get a vote in - all the lines are busy. There were 88 million votes last week. I wonder if they will break 100 million tonight!

I wonder if they will break 100 million tonight! I bet they do break 100 mil. I just got done watching it and I actually think Adam did do a little better than Kris. I loved his first song, he did great on that one. The first time Kris sang "Ain't No Sunshine" I about cried it was so good but I don't think he did as good on it this time around. Their second songs were a tie, I think they were both really good. And the last song I think was more fitting for Kris' voice and style of music I think it sounded a little to sunshine and rainbows for Adam's style. I'm glad we didn't have Danny & Kris in the final or Alison & Adam because we got to see a really diverse show with two different styles of music, I really enjoyed it. And I don't vote anymore, I used to vote for an hour straight for my favorites but last year I didn't vote once and the person I wanted to win did. I think I got to obsessed with it. But now I figure as long as they're in the top 12 or 13 or whatever they're going to have a career. Besides I let my mom do the voting, I think she really REALLY wants Kris to win.

Hi lillyfan! I couldn't even get through last night to vote and sleep was calling me. What did you think of the song Kara wrote for them? I think that was the first time in the entire competition that Adam had some pitch problems and Kris was totally straining to sing which was obviously too high. Kris' first song was really good. I think Kara wrote the song to give Adam the edge. I'm thinking they may indeed break 100 million votes. Isn't this season breaking records in that department? I really didn't feel they needed Carrie Underwood. Actually her performance came at the last minute of the show and it ran over. They should have left it alone! Looking forward to tonight and the show is going to run over so if anyone is setting your DVR you better allow for it.

They should have had Underwood perform tonight on the finale. She is an Idol, after all, and she's one of the best winners to come out of the show. Now, if only we could set up political voting via telephone and text message... look at what kind of numbers we'd get!

It's just hours away from the finale but it doesn't hurt to have some last minute speculations and ponderings. Did Danny Gokey's fans all go for Kris? Were there millions of casual viewers who tuned in just last night and picked their favorite from there? Those are really just my ponderings. But here's something from a Blogger. Was Idol Finale a Tie?From what I know of the news pundits over the last eight years, the Republican machine knows how to rig things in their favor, so, I wouldn't want to vote for President by text messaging or telephone. I think voting should be done the way the Cardinals vote for the Pope at Vatican city.

That would be ground breaking, indeed. That article you posted makes me chuckle, as I just read one that said the exact opposite; that "No Boundaries" is a terrible song and that if it favored anyone, it was clearly Adam. I'll see if I can dig that up. That said, I didn't listen to the song/watch last night's show, so I can't say for sure.

Hey Naj I didn't really like the song that Kara wrote just because all of these finale songs are kinda the same as in previous years. And if she intended to give Adam the edge I don't think she succeeded. I think the song was more appropriate for Kris but the key was a little to high for him. I really wish that they would write songs more fitting for the final contestants, or better yet, maybe have the final four contestants co write one for the finale and have the final two sing theirs. I agree with trubluCCfan Carrie should have sang tonight, last night didn't set right with me either for some reason. I do hope they bring back Nick Norman, if you've been following the show the entire season you'll know who I'm talking about. That guy freakin cracked me up so I hope he's on tonight's show. My money's still on Adam winning but I've been wrong about every reality show this season. Now, if only we could set up political voting via telephone and text message... look at what kind of numbers we'd get! That'd be funny. Maybe have each candidate sing "God Bless America" or something then have Simon critique them. 1-866-PRES01 I don't know

I know the songs sound like they are the anthem for a beauty pageant.

I know the songs sound like they are the anthem for a beauty pageant. Yes exactly... And those are usually the first songs I forget, I think that writing their own would be more memorable for us and a real big achievement for them.

Good idea!
I just saw Danny Gokey and Lionel Ritchie. I loved their duets. Dang, I didn't have my recorder taping - will have to catch it on YouTube hopefully.

Well, guess I was correct in my assumptions. I did want Adam to win. I wish them both well because I did truly enjoy Kris too and feel he will establish himself firmly in contemporary music. I think there is, in one of the final shots of the evening, Adam crying.

I think there is, in one of the final shots of the evening, Adam crying. I wanted him to win too, though I think both are wonderful singers. My mum speculates that while it obviously stinks to be in second place, Adam may be a little relieved about not winning, because now he is not subject to follow the rules that Kris has to follow in regards to contracting. He's most certainly going to get a deal of his own, and now he can do it his way, instead of Idol/Fox's way.
