Hi Look Againers,
Over our time here at Look Again, irishkale and I have been noticing some posts and conversations that really do not fall within the goals that we've set to make sure that every member is comfortable here at Look Again. Therefore, we thought that a reminder about something called "netiquette" is in order.
Like etiquette, netiquette is essentially a set of guidelines for how to act on the internet. Netiquette is:
- Making sure that you are considerate of other's opinions.
- Respecting other members.
- Refraining from "flaming" another member; in other words, no personal attacks on members or their beliefs.
At Look Again, we want all of our members to feel welcome and to feel like they can share their opinions with us without being attacked by other members. When one member makes a comment, it is not appropriate for another member to say anything that implies that the comment is not valid, such as "that's stupid/silly" or "it doesn't matter".
Please keep in mind that we have a diverse membership; people of all ages, nationalities, and ethnic backgrounds. Please keep in mind that people may not have the same knowledge base as you, may not have learned English as a first language, or may not have the same ideas as you. Everyone is a part of our community, and everyone deserves respect.
If there is a comment that seems to be inappropriate in any way, please do not respond to it, or reprimand the member yourself; just contact a member of staff, and we will handle the issue (that's what we're here for!)
Sincerely,
Trublu & irishkale
