What if Lilly had something that was going to kill her in the future, how would she take her chances to find love and deal with the her friendship towards Scotty??
The times were tough especially since Lilly and Saccardo was no longer a pair; they had been off and on throughout her whole pregnancy; up until the birth of her daughter.
That was just a year ago, and things had gotten better for Lilly. Her friendship with Scotty had gotten stronger; since he became probably the world’s best uncle to her daughter; Ava.
Just one night as she was carrying the now sleeping one year old into the house, Lilly continued singing softly before placing Ava down into her crib. While in the middle of giving her a few kisses; a knock at the front door; prompted her to go downstairs.
As she opened it, Eddie stood there, “We need to talk Rush”, which made Lilly automatically cross her arms, “It’s not a good time, I just put my daughter down to sleep”. However she got woozy and lost her balance, but luckily Eddie had caught her just in time.
Just moments after he had laid her down on the couch, he then noticed that something clearly was wrong. Lilly’s breaths were heavy, plus she didn’t seem to be herself at all.
Moving closer, Eddie’s finger felt the side of her neck; counting each rapid beat. Somehow her eyes then reopened, but Lilly knew that she wasn’t feeling all that well.
Though the two were still friends, Eddie still cared a lot about her, “You catching something Lil”?
Taking in a breath, Lilly knew that she had to be truthful especially since he was the father of her daughter, “No its Cancer and I had it since Ava was a month old”.
Just hearing this made Eddie worry even more, “You are getting treatment for it Lil”?
“Been receiving Chemotherapy, but it’s making me sick”, she answered quietly, “It’s not getting any better”.
The look displayed on Eddie’s face was one of worry, “ Where is the cancer exactly”, but now it made him wonder if he should have been there more for her; back then. Now faced with the possibility of losing Lilly, Eddie had to act quickly.
Her answer was one that he wasn’t expecting, “Breast Cancer, it’s in both of my breasts”, she answered, “ I should be getting the results back tomorrow”.
Eddie knew it was hard for her to be ill and also be a single mother, that part was his fault, “ You need me here with you Lil”, taking her hand, “ You can’t do this alone anymore”.
Pushing him away slightly, he then peered into her blue eyes, “I’ll stop by after you get the results”, before spotting a picture of Ava on the table, “She’s still the best thing that ever happened to us”.
Just moments after he had left, Lilly went upstairs and peered into her daughter’s room. With a sigh, she leaned against the doorframe knowing that she still had to be strong for Ava. Her daughter depended so much on her; but now Lilly had to keep on fighting. It was the only way, but how long could she actually keep on doing that?
By the next day, the news didn’t get any better; in fact it seemed to worsen. Her cancer was spreading into other parts of her body, just moments after the doctor had exited; Lilly felt her whole slipping out from underneath her.
