Plus the rating might slip, I think that the show did better between 8-9pm ,but it's still good that it was renewed When was CC ever airing at 8pm?? o.O awww...I want that....8 pm is more convenient for me instead of waiting for the next day until I leave school at 5 or 6 pm(extracurriculars...) to go home and watch it then. tad OT...... "The Mentalist" is moving to Thursdays at 10 pm now....Let's see how it will do on its own without "NCIS" . "CSI" ratings are going down(they used to have like 24-27 million viewers o.O). Now, "NCIS" is CBS #1 show. Plus, "NCIS" is contending with FOX's ratings grabbing "American Idol" show at that time-slot. Uggh...I wonder how it still gets that many viewers when it's the same old season with the same old Simon Cowell's tirades, Paula Abdul's "peppy-ness", and Randy's constant use of the word "dawg". back On-topic..... It seems to me that CBS is doing a lot of shuffling in their tv schedule now with WaT axed, trying to fill a hole in their tv programming . They've also axed "The Unit". I've watched that show a little bit until it got moved, but it would have been better off paired with "NCIS" than "The Mentalist". CBS didn't even give that show a chance to survive. "Cold Case" is doing just fine on its own with 11 million viewers + given that the nielsen media ratings are a bit skewed/inaccurate/outdated way to survey what people watch for advertisers to decide on which time-slot to pool their advertising money towards. It's on a freaking Sunday!!!!! If anything, it shouldn't have even been considered to get cancelled since the weekends are "graveyards" for tv shows. Barely anybody watches tv on the weekends because they are out with their friends, familys, boyfriends/girlfriends, etc....just out doing something and if it's not that, they come home exhausted. Personally if WaT or Ghost Whisperer's ratings haven't been improving lately since they are at a bit more advantage than "Cold Case", only those two shows should have been considered to get axed. "The Unit" was axed long before when they decided to move the show to a Friday or a Sunday(god knows where they put it again on their scheduling before it got axed).

@cbl: The mentalist has built its own fan base and it has almost the same amount of viewers that NCIS do Back on Cold Case We know It's the last season but I still think 10 pm is too late

If you want to discuss and talk more about other shows than Cold Case, we have the Other Shows & Movies section for that and particular a thread now about 2009-2010 Upfronts 10pm - that is indeed late, especially on a Sunday. Everybody feeling they should go to bed early to be fit for work / school next day (resolution for the new week, right) .... Thank goodness, there are ways to record a show and watch it whenever. Nevertheless, knowing they still seem to pay little attention to actual watching habits of audience (I make my own schedule) it might be not good for ratings. We'll see. We will have another season, that is something. Oh, and thanks to everybody rallying for the show!

Thanks to all of you for your hard work and energy in keeping the show alive. I was just asked in an interview what I thought of the "enthusiastic fan base" for Cold Case. I said, "The fans are an inspiration in good times and a life-saving spirit boost when things aren’t going well." Michael A. Levine Cold Case Music Composer Hello Michael! Thank you for continually gracing our community and your kind words about the show's fans around the world. Can we find your interview online, perhaps?

Plus the rating might slip, I think that the show did better between 8-9pm ,but it's still good that it was renewed When was CC ever airing at 8pm?? o.O For everyone's knowledge base, CC originally started in the 8 PM slot. It was more recently that it was moved to 9 PM, and now finally to 10.

Here in Germany, CC runs at 9.10 pm. But we've already had it at 10.10 pm and 4.35 am, so... ;D
I think the time around 9pm is always the best for every series.

I would love it at 8 pm... It's the best slot I would agree, it is one of the better slots. That said, it's too early for some of the intensity that we've grown accustomed to in these later time slots. 8 PM is still the time for "family" shows, while 9 and 10 PM are more young adult/ adult geared.

That said, it's too early for some of the intensity that we've grown accustomed to in these later time slots. 8 PM is still the time for "family" shows, while 9 and 10 PM are more young adult/ adult geared. How is 9 or 10 pm geared toward young adult/adult? o.O I'm a young adult, but I certainly don't stay past 9 pm on a Sunday night since school starts tomorrow. I'd rather be well rested and get my sleep in as much as possible since when the school week starts, I find myself staying up at 2 or 3 am in the morning finishing up on homework due to being in school for 6 hours and extracurricular activities. I don't come back home until at 6 pm or the latest at 8 pm. 8 PM is definitely a better time slot to put "Cold Case" on in my opinion . You can relax to end episode of "Cold Case", ease all the thoughts of "What do you have to do the next day?" and forget about them for a while before going to sleep. It's one of the very few well-written shows on television still. In my opinion, "Cold Case" is definitely the best crime-drama show out there in this overly-saturated genre. It makes you analyze every single little detail in a storyline. Not only that, but it can make you cry, laugh, or even make you angry all at the same time ;D. This is what "Cold Case" does so well. It plays at the heartstrings. Some people think the montage paired up with an ending song is sappy, but I think it just drives the whole episode home. You're sitting there and wondering to yourself on the couch, "What the h3ll just happened?" and while you're going over the play-by-play, the music captures the essence of an episode terrifically.

I agree with you coldboneslove, the best time is at 8 PM, but maybe people from TV thinks that if CC is drama it should have later time on TV, I saw last time 'Dexter"(show definitely for oldest people and younger viewers with strong nerves, I'm this younger viewer) at 9 PM and CC at 11 PM and I think that Dexter is more scary than CC :/

They could have put CC during the weekdays, that way the games wouldn't run over. Plus it probably would have drawn in a much larger audience.

My point was, after 8-9 PM shows, most of the younger children are in bed (anyone under 13, since the show's target audience is 14+). So, that leaves potential viewers at young adults and adults, meaning that they can put on a show that's rated 14+, instead of something that's a little more appropriate for younger children. That's not to say that every young adult stays up until 9, but the majority of viewers will be young adults/ adults. Myself, my bedtime in high school was 11 PM. I hope everyone got a chance to send their e-mails! I almost got the days mixed up because today is a holiday in the US, so I thought yesterday was Saturday.

That's some great news. They would've made a mistake had they had kept WaT over CC, CC still has pleanty more to give, whilst WaT had seriously run dry. It was a great show once though. Cold Case has been going downhill since season 3. I don't see what new it could possibly offer. Exactly like WaT, it has run dry. They should have cancelled both shows when they were still above the average. Now they're just torturing once so brilliant show.
