This is another case centric fic..
Two make plans to see a movie later on, as the music begins to fade out. We now see what appears to be in Kensington as various people walk on by. Two are overheard arguing about something; but it’s incoherent to the viewers. As the evening newspaper drops down onto the sidewalk, we now see tiny droplets of blood.
In the next scene we now see several sneakers that belonged to Alice but one body of unknown female with red hair. However with so much damage down to Jane Doe’s face, it is very hard to make a positive Id.
Then as we take a trip into the warehouse we see her box being filed onto the shelf; while another unknown cop marks both Leah and Alice as missing.
Present Day, Vera and Jefferies are both seen arguing over something. While Rush is finishing typing up her report; when Gil Sherman comes in.
He immediately heads on over to where the blonde is seated. His face isn’t his usual but solemn, “Got a new angle for you Rush, on an old one”.
Lilly motions for Scotty as he then takes as seat, Gil then pull out a piece of bagged evidence. As he then places it onto the desk, inside is a black rose necklace; “CSU found it when they were shifting through evidence yesterday at a crime scene in Fairmount, found this in the basement.
This belonged to a missing person; Alice Wells 16, she disappeared in 1969”.
“ We ain’t missing persons”, Scotty replies as Gil heeds him no attention, “ Take a look at this”, as Lilly then notices the necklace around Alice’s neck, “ That could be significant, but did they say who the house belonged to”.
Gil takes a sip of his coffee, “House has been vacant for years, but get this back in 69, the house was owned by Alice’s dad”.
Lilly takes one look at the photo, before it cuts to the credits.
Down in the warehouse, Lilly opens Jane Doe’s box, “Jane Doe age approximately 16-17; found near Kensington Avenue on July 22, 1969; her killer somehow mulated her face so that there wouldn’t be a positive identification”.
Stillman puts on his glasses, “I remember this case, when I was working the beat in Fish town. Big news but they never once caught the doer; funny thing is the families didn’t even file both Leah and Alice as missing”.
“Crap parents”, Scotty said as he read through the original report, “Alice’s boyfriend had been murdered just three days before she had gone missing. Get this; her mother was also murdered when she was four years old. Her older sister died in a fire, while trying to save her when she was six”.
Lilly felt bad for Alice, but knew that she didn’t have all the luck in the world, “Two years before, her youngest sister Becky; also disappeared. Nobody filed a report, not even the dad”, which now she had suspected the dad but still couldn’t point any fingers yet.
Upstairs, the squad learns that all of Alice’s friends and family had either disappeared or was murdered. So any interviews would be pretty impossible; but somehow Lilly had found a photo; in which one of them was her father.
This fic will be centered on the case, not on the detectives private lives. tbc..

Chapter 2
However just as Lilly was about to grab her stuff, a woman walked into headquarters. She was taller and a redhead; looking almost like the actress; Gillian Anderson but much prettier. In Rush’s eyes, she then sees how they had looked in 1969, before flashing forward to the present day.
“I heard that you were looking into the whereabouts of Alice and Leah’s whereabouts, I might know something. I saw them walking past my apartment just a day before, they had disappeared”.
Time of the Season- The Zombies
The unknown woman is sitting on the stoops of her apartment building, as both Alice and Leah are walking on by. They are both dressed in a pair of tiny shorts which seems to be attracting some unwanted attention.
Clearly Alice is disturbed, sporting a black eye before a car pulls up. A stern looking man then approaches. He has dark hair and is tall, “I told you not to do that”, striking the teenager.
Alice fights back”, I didn’t do anything”, she yells, as the man then grabs her, “You never learn do you”, before turning towards Leah, “Runaway before something bad happens to you”. In the present day, Lilly is left now with yet another suspect, “Did you know who he was”?
“No, I never saw him before. He looked angry, but both Alice and Leah seemed frightened over him”, as she now gets up, “I can’t reveal anymore to you, just by telling you my name would get me into a whole lot of trouble”.
Lilly stands up, “By whom”, but the woman just walks out leaving the blonde detective stumped.
Nevertheless she heads across the bridge to Haddonfield, New Jersey. From there she then spots her father; Paul Cooper finishing up his usual game of chess.
When he stands up he sees Lilly standing there, “You have a minute, Dad”, she asks. Paul nods as the two sit down together on a beach, “What’s up Lilly”?
“There’s a case that was just opened, and I came across your name in this”, shows him a photo.
Paul then looks up, “Is this about that missing girl, she went missing in 1969. I knew her only when she used to come to play chess down at the local park. A nice girl, I remember telling Alice about your mother’s pregnancy.
The day after I had told her; she disappeared. I knew that something bad had happened to her”. Taking in a breath, Lilly then showed him a photo of the necklace, “You remember her wearing that”?
“Yes, she told me that her sister had given it to her. The one that had died”, as he then sat there co tempting his own thoughts, “Alice had no one for her to love, not even her boyfriend or parents. She was all alone”.
Upon coming back to Philly, Lilly immediately smiled at Louie, “Louie, what brings you down here”?
“My expertise Rush”, as their innocent flirting came to an end when Stillman came out, “What do you have there Louie”? “Turns out that fire was set, to cover something possibly. The cause of the fire was pan left on the stove with oil in it, but here’s the hinky thing; there seems to be at least three separate fires”.
In Scotty’s mind he knew that somehow someone was covering up a deadly murder, but then saw Frannie walking in, “The body that had been found in the yard matches Alice’s mother and unborn baby sister. Mother was killed with a blunt object”. “The Father has an alibi”, he asked.
Jefferies looked through some stuff, before Lilly found something odd, “On contrary to what the original report had stated. Alice’s father is alive, his record is clean but he lives now in rural home in Canada”.
“So what did really happen”?

With this case still boggling in their minds, both Kat and Lilly were sent up north to Canada to speak with Alice’s father. It was clear that both she and Leah weren’t sisters; but really close friends. They were close since age of four, neither the detectives could explain why they both went missing together.
After crossing the border and entering Canada, the two continued driving into a rural area. Kat didn’t like being out in a strange area; let alone in a different country. Nevertheless, Lilly just wanted to find out what happened so that both she and squad could solve this case.
Turning off the main road as their car bumped along the unpaved road, the two women each exchanged glances towards each other; before seeing an old home that was clearly falling apart.
After getting out, a cold wind brushed against the side of Lilly’s check; quiet possibly as an omen.
When the door had opened, a man with intense eyes stared back at the two women. Both Kat and Lilly felt a strange sense that this guy was just plain evil; but couldn’t yet point any fingers. Flashing a badge, the two weren’t allowed to come in.
“ We need to speak to you about your daughter, Alice who went missing in 1968”, Lilly said as Mr. Wells stood there, “ I have nothing to say about her, she should have died in that fire with all the rest of her siblings”.
That was a very strange comment for him to say, “Look we just need to know why you didn’t file a report, when she went missing”.
Mr. Wells glared at the blonde with an evil look in his eyes, “I didn’t care too much to report her, she was another mistake that her mother had brought into the world”, as he then slammed the door shut, leaving both Miller and Rush stumped.
Then the door opened once more, “Get off me property”, he yelled loudly. Lilly wasn’t about to give up, and leaving Canada without knowing more wasn’t about to happen, “Not until you tell me, more about Alice and why you are withholding something that can be useful”.
Mr. Wells stood there, looking at how the blonde detective wasn’t about to leave his premise. Though he didn’t own any dogs or anything to shoo her off; he then motioned for only her to come into the house.
However Kat stood by the front door, on guard just in case Lilly just happened to need any backup. Inside, the place was dark and somewhat creepy. It was in need of some good
housekeeping; as the dust continued to take over anything that was in sight.
She didn’t want to sit down on the dirty furniture; which appeared to be from the 30’s to 50’s era... Just by standing, Lilly felt his intense eyes on her, “We just found the body of your wife, care to elaborate on how she got there”?
“I don’t know, probably that mistake daughter of hers buried her. Alice was always into trouble with that boyfriend; good thing he died in a car accident. I wasn’t sad to see him but she seemed to be sadder after her sisters had been killed. If you ask me, Alice should have been in the car with him”.
To Lilly, she could already sense that this man wasn’t too fond of what it meant to be a parent. It got her thinking about her own dad, and how after all these years he never forget or ever stopped loving her.
Pulling her own emotions together, Lilly focused on trying to solve this case; knowing that she now had suspected him of killing Alice.
Back in Philly, Scotty practically had a headache; but he then began to put two and two together. He knew that redheaded woman who had stepped in to speak to Lilly; was probably Leah. It had to be her, she looked about the same again; what if she went into hiding while her best friend had died?
His own theory was now quickly dismissed when they found a second body; now knowing that body girls had been murdered; the question was now who and why?
Neither Gil Sherman nor anyone else had a clue about it; even as Vera came in munching on a frosted doughnut even he was stumped. The question that everyone had on their minds was; who was the redhead and how did she know the victims?

Somehow Alice’s father decided to cooperated, but in doing so he accidently ran into Rush; just outside of her hotel room. His darkened eyes; were still quite intense, “I do have something, a week before Alice you know dropped off the face of this earth; she changed her hair to look like her friends”.
This was new information to Lilly, but it was now looking as if the body was that of Alice not Leah. However she now had something that she could sink her teeth into, “Could you provide a DNA sample, so that we could compare it with the body”.
Mr. Wells wasn’t too big on that, “There is no way that I would give you my DNA, who care about poor little Alice and her stupid friend. Good luck with that Blondie”, as he then got into the elevator. Lilly let out a sigh, but then quickly phoned her squad back in Philly.
However something interesting then came up, the same redheaded woman that had came into homicide was found dead; in the same exact area where the redheaded girl had turned up back in ’69. This time they made a positive ID; the woman was Leah.
Kat then looked up, “So maybe the body found here in ’69 was Alice”, as Jefferies then began to ponder what really did happen, “Maybe Dad finds out, but he couldn’t have done this one. The guys had been living in Canada”.
Though Mr. Wells didn’t kill Leah, he still was a suspect in Lilly’s mind. She knew that somehow he had to be responsible for her death but why?
When Kat stepped into ADA Bell’s office, to obtain permission to exhume the bodies of Alice’s siblings; she saw that he was easily distracted by something, “We need to exhume the bodies of the siblings of Alice Wells”.
ADA Bell looked up from whatever that he was doing, “I already obtained permission; they should be exhuming them tomorrow morning, this case has more evidence than you know about”.
Kat looked taken aback, by what Bell was saying, “ More evidence than we know about, what are you keeping from us”, as he then turned around before slapping a folder down on the table, “ Like the fact that Alice had filed three complaints against her father, just three days before all her siblings had died. Got a cop that saw her mother with black eye just four days prior to her disappearance; plus Rush’s Dad just gave another statement to your boss”.
That was true as Paul Cooper was now seated in John Stillman’s office; he knew he had to reveal more. However he never harmed Alice but tried to look out for her, “Alice had a boyfriend; Dan, that man had such an attitude that I don’t think she tolerated him. They both up three times; and he wasn’t taking no for an answers. Good thing he died in that car accident, but Alice often hid things. She was scared of something”.
John took off his glasses, “Did you think that Alice’s Dad had something to do with his death, and why she and he both died”? Shaking his head no, Paul thought for a moment, “I quit going over to that park, right after he threatened me. I didn’t want him harming Lilly’s mother who was pregnant with her at the time, I had to protect my family but he did attack me”.
Then a feeling came over John, knowing that Lilly was in Canada; close to where Mr. Wells currently lives. He worried if he put two and two together that she would be in danger, “What did Mr. Wells want you to say”?
“Nothing, but a few days later I saw him with blood all over his suit. I feared the worst for both Alice and her mother; but I’ve always had a feeling that he did”.
Somehow now armed with a warrant and the fact that Mr. Wells wasn’t a Canadian citizen among other things; he was extradited back to the United States. Now facing charges, cops were about to take a swab of his DNA and sent it to the crime lib for testing. Meanwhile the bodies of the Wells Children were each exhumed while both Rush and Valens poured themselves over crime photos of the fire.
“I think Louie’s right, someone did set this”, but then he glanced over at the set alibi that Mr. Wells had, “So if he didn’t set the fire; then who did”?
Nick Vera had one heck of headache, but wasn’t about to let this guy get deep down into his nerves, “Your Alibi checked out, on the night of the fire. You know anyone else that would want to see your family dead”?
With a wryly smile, Mr. Wells then took in a deep breath, “No, it may sound cruel but I didn’t care too much to kill Alice”.
Outside of the room, Rush now with her hair down; is sitting at her desk. She has more than a spitting headache but continues to try and find out what really happened, “We now know that both Alice and Leah are dead, why wait until she was older to be killed. Alice’s dad didn’t kill her, but who did”?
Kat then let out a groan, “Despite the guy Bell being one heck of a pain in the neck, he managed to find several complaints; one is relevant. Turns out he used to beat up her eldest sister; and then locked her up in the attic”.
Vera shook his head, “Get this the same cop who had taken the statement, was the same one who filed her initial missing report. You think we should go have talk with this guy, Boss”?
With a single nod, Stillman grabbed his coat as Jefferies then followed him out.
- Exterior of an apartment building in Germantown
Former Detective Alex Marshy; a tall man with a graying appearance; he’s a chain smoker and an alcoholic. His apartment smells of smoke; but tells that he doesn’t put in a good up-keep to it.
“You remember a girl Alice Wells, she disappeared and was found dead 1969, you filed the report”, Stillman said, showing him a photo of her.
Alex puffs out another cloud of smoke, “Yeah I remember her, always came complaining to me about her pops. If you ask me if I know anything I don’t, so please leave”.
John Stillman still had his doubts, “If you know anything, now is the time to tell it”, as Alex then got up and opened the door, “Good Day Lieutenant”.

Somehow Rush then decided to go back to the crime scene, as she then stepped into the house; she tried to look for clues. Though her experience had taught her, which some stuff could be picked up with forensics while others could be found with good detective skills. As she made her way upstairs, Lilly then found a piece of paper.
Picking it up it now read: Find out who killed Alice and Leah and you will be next.
Lilly’s eyes widened in fear, but knew that it was just probably a crank. Using single pair of latex gloves, she then deposited the note inside of a bag. Perhaps the lab could lift a fingerprint off of it, but outside Scotty was already waiting.
“Got something, Alice’s DNA doesn’t match any of her siblings but only that of her parents. The odd thing, none of the other kids have the same parents”, this now grabbed her attention, “So we now have to find out the real parents, maybe one of them didn’t sit still”?
Just then Scotty came in holding a folder, “Or not, turns out the Wells children were all adopted, except for Alive but it, Turns out that Leah was also adopted as well”, as he then places the folder down, “There’s another side to the story both of Alice’s parents had been adopted; get this Mr. Wells’s father is the same cop whom had taken down Alice’s statement”.
This now was triggering something good, “So what if Alice found out, you think Alex would do something to harm her”?
Putting on his glasses, Stillman shook his head, “The word long shot comes to mind, but it seems that Alice was an avid chess player. Maybe there could have been someone who didn’t like her beating them”?
When Lilly went back to her father, Paul Cooper had yet another revealing story to share.
Aquarius/ Let the Sunshine in – The 5th Dimension
Paul Cooper is watching while Alice now with red hair is playing against a man in his late 20’s. He has short, close cropped hair but is wearing a white shirt with a good pair of khaki pants.
Alice moves one of the pieces and knocks off one the other ones. The man looks up, while contemning his next move. Very slowly and carefully he does; much to his demise Alice beats him.
Suddenly the pieces go flying off the board, as the man grows Angier with her, “We don’t like your kind, you women are supposed be housewives not doing this”.
Alice stands there firmly, “ I’m not going to be a housewife, there’s so much in the world for me to do”, before he slaps her face hard, “ Playing chess isn’t a woman’s role”, before Paul steps in, “ Leave her alone Jeremy, I think you’ve had way too much to drink”.
Jeremy then continues to fight him, as another tall blonde man comes on over to Alice,” Let’s go now”, grabbing her upper arm; but she resists him.
Standing there Paul takes in a breath, “Jeremy still gets hot headed over chess, one of the reasons why I never played against him. The other man was Alice’s boyfriend, a very good thing he was killed that day in a car crash”.
Lilly thinks for a moment, “So was Alice was chess master or what”?
“If she would have lived, I would have said so. Alice beat everyone there including me; I did see her again later that night. She then gave this to me”, holding out a much smaller black rose necklace, “She knew my excitement of becoming a father”.
Inspecting it, she could see that it was a match to the necklace that had been found, “You mind if I take this”, as Paul took in a breath, “I’d rather you not Lilly; this is my only connection to Alice. I just want to know who had killed her”.
Lilly then exhaled, “What if this necklace holds the key to what happened to both Alice and Leah; wouldn’t you want them to have justice also Dad”?
Paul knew that his daughter was right, they both needed justice, “This was something that I was supposed to give to you, when you were born”, as he then placed the necklace into the palm of Lilly’s hand, “When you solve this, could you give this back to me”?
In Fish town, Jeremy Locke sat there facing an empty chess board. His face is wrinkled but clearly displays a pair of dazzling blue eyes. He clearly isn’t a happy man, as Vera and Valens sit down in front of him.
“I heard you called out Alice Wells, and even slapped her”, which had Jeremy looking straight at them, “Paul Cooper told you that didn’t him, serves him right. The man thinks too much of playing chess, bitter fool didn’t know really how to play”.
Valens continues to play it cool, “So why did you have that beef with Alice, because she was a woman”?
That infuriated Jeremy to no end, “Women like her didn’t belong out there playing chess, and she belongs in the kitchen. It didn’t matter, good think that boyfriend of hers got killed. That’s a fellow that I’m not sorry to see him go, but if you see Paul; tell him that he still stinks at chess”.
Then Jeremy then hands them something, which is a bag containing a lock of red hair, “I found this, and don’t know why I still have it”.
“Where were you the night that Alice was murdered”, asked Vera?
Jeremy laughed softly, “Really fellows I was hospitalized, after my appendix burst”; now crossing his arms, “Check it out if you don’t believe me”.
“Here’s another question where were you two days ago”, a question that Jeremy still could answer, “If you’re asking me If I killed them, I didn’t. I may have had a beef with Alice but I didn’t want her dead or her best friend”.
Valens wasn’t going to believe him, “Don’t go anywhere, Locke”, as the two detectives left the man alone in his apartment.

With new revelation, that Alice was a master at chess; the team had now another world to explore. However the task of seeing out people who played there during the years 65-69 was proving to be a hard task to complete. However Paul Cooper, couldn’t recall anyone else having a major problem with Alice; which now presented a problem.
Then he also remembered that Leah was also a chess player as well, was it coincidence or just one in a million? Whatever it was, the squad needed more information in order to solve their case. However when the forensics came back on the note, there wasn’t any fingerprints that could be lifted. Despite the recent finding, both Scotty and Kat stayed late; while each re-interviewing both Mr. Wells and Jeremy Locke once more.
At home, the photos of both Alice and Leah resided on Lilly’s nightstand. She had never stopped this ritual even when George Marks had told everyone during that phone call. It wasn’t like Lilly was sleeping with the dead; but as a reminder that people shouldn’t be forgotten
While she sat in bed, she thought about Alice; and what she would have been had she lived? More importantly how; good she was at chess. Maybe it was someone who hated the fact, that Alice was both a woman and an expert at the game?
As Lilly continued to think, down at headquarters Scotty was about ready to take a handful of some painkillers for his headache. Except now, Vera found evidence that Alice’s murder wasn’t over chess at all, but something extremely worse
Digging through the original accident report, he then noticed that Alice was in the car with Dan when he was killed. However there also was another person in the car; what if something had happened during that time unaccounted for that caused someone to kill her? As he then went back upstairs, Jeremy Locke stood there; angrily.
“You pinned me as a killer, I already told you that I had nothing to do with that girl’s death. I was angry at her, but that was just frustration due to chess. I did see Alice the night of her death, but saw someone pushing her into a car”.
Vera looked at him, “Did you get a good look at the driver or the car”? “No why would I care, just thought that Alice had another abusive boyfriend, pushing her around again”.
That only seemed to anger Vera, “Nice of you not to, that could have been her killer”, shooting him a cold look. Jeremy then pushed him down before escaping down the stairwell, as Vera then chased him him then lost sight of the other man. Now breathless, Vera stood there with his heart pounding; waiting to catch his breath.
Just then his eyes then spotted a photo; three hours later when Lilly had entered she knew the person in the photo.

Thanks I know I'm not the best writer on this site, but I do try hard...
That person in the photo just happened to be same man who had broken her jaw, at the tender age of ten. Lilly’s eyes widened at the fear of him, she knew that he didn’t care too much after he beat her up mercifully; before carrying. What guy beats up a poor helpless little girl, then just leaves her there bleeding with a broken Jaw?
A shiver then came over her, as Lilly then found out what his name was; Jack Rocke . The name even creped her out but it was nothing until John Stillman had given both her and Scotty orders to pay him a visit. During the whole time in the car, all the way up to Windsor Locks Connecticut; she continued to stare out the window.
Halfway onto the Hutchinson Parkway, Scotty stepped on the brakes hard; due to the enormous amount of traffic. “You alright there Lil, you haven’t spoken a word to me since leaving Philly”, his voice now full of concern. However Lilly knew that eventually he’d find out the reason, for her quietness. She never had wanted to express what exactly happened to him; long ago.
The subject still hurt, even when her now deceased mother had brought it up; before that George. Now he got a thrill of seeing just how painful that memory was.
Upon arriving, she could hear her heart thumping wildly inside of her chest. She could no longer breathe, as Jack then answered the door. Right away, a flash appeared of him hitting her as child; appeared in the depths of her mind.

Thanks, but Lolly you are good as well..
As Jack allowed them in, Lilly felt a need to flee. She also knew that both Leah and Alice needed their justice as well.
Sitting down, Jack kept on looking at the blonde harshly. He remembered assaulting a little girl, back in 1980 but couldn’t figure out if she was the person or not.
“Rush, isn’t that your last name”, he said as if he was merely forgetting whom she was. Lilly nodded as Jack drew in a deep breath, “I’ll talk, only to detective Rush”.
With a nervous amount of fear, now pluming into her body; Scotty took a look at her before exiting the house. This now left her alone face to face with someone whom had harmed her long ago. Just standing there, Lilly got a hold of herself.
“I’m here because a young woman had died in 1969”, holding up a photo of Alice, “You know her, because I have a picture of both you and her together”?
A clever grin came over Jack, “Yeah I knew her, I also know you. You had no right to take my money, see that your jaw as been healed”.
Lilly’s demon our turned ugly, “I didn’t take your money, second of all I’m here to solve the murder of Alice Wells so answer the question. You don’t ask them I do”. She also knew that this guy, wasn’t feeling any sort of remorse over what had happened to her; long ago.

“When you think of something, call us”, handing him her partner’s business card. One thing that she didn’t want was a lunatic calling her cell. Lilly dealt with enough lunatics in her past, having Jack as one wasn’t going to happen.
Outside Scotty had just gotten off the phone, “Gil Sherman just picked up the writer of the note, turns out this guys been threatening your dad for years”.
At the station; David Sheppard stood there disgruntled that Gil had brought him in. Though being now homeless and an alcoholic didn’t heed him any favors. In a blink of an eye, he was shown the way it was back in 1969; before flashing forward again. His long rap sheet was extremely extensive in the nature of his various crimes.
Holding up a photo of Alice, David bowed his head, “She was one the people I actually liked the play against, and I hated her pops and that bozo of a boyfriend”. This intrigued Lilly, as to ask yet another question, “Then why harass Paul Cooper since then”?
He remained emotionless, “That was over a game of chess, guy thought he could win each and every time, until Cooper filed a restraining order against me. I haven’t harassed him since, check it out”, looking at how Lilly didn’t believe him, “You’re his kid, right”?
Lilly didn’t give into his mind games at all, “Where were you when Alice was murdered”?
“In Jail, didn’t get released until the week after”, David replied while crossing his arms, “Can I go now”?
However Mr. Wells remained the top suspect of his daughter’s murder, until he came to them about yet another person. Lilly’s attacker wasn’t yet out of the woods so to speak, he still was also another suspect.
This other person of interest matched the same handwriting of the note, which was found. However tracking him was yet another hard task, especially since Nick Vera was put in charge of that.
After he screwed up the Chimayo case in ’03, Jefferies knew that it was wise for him to tag along. However searching through the streets of Kensington; wasn’t all that glorious; especially since it wasn’t the type of neighborhood that the two men would want to be in.
Though Lilly had grown up there, she also wasn’t about to re-step herself back there. That place always had given her bad memories. However today wasn’t going to be good, especially since Mr. Wells was found there dead; in a large pool of blood with a note.
1980- Poor Detective Ten Year Old Lillian Rush was assaulted her, little thing fought for her live. 1969, Alice Wells didn’t die her but I dumped her body right in the same sport where Detective Rush got her jaw broken.
Find me will be hard, I‘ve gotten away from every murder but murdering this man; is the right thing to do. He murdered her mother and sisters; but he didn’t kill Alice or Leah. Alice was an accomplished chess player but wasn’t hanging out with the right crowd so to speak. I’m talking about drugs.
Jefferies then looked at Vera, “You think this is a setup, or was Alice really using Drugs”? Coming through Scotty felt slightly sickened overseeing the body, “Or he was the killer, remember George’s interrogation how he used “He” instead of me”?
“It’s not him”, Lilly replied, “Handwriting doesn’t match”, she said while holding up the note in the bag before placing it next to the other one, “That means we have yet another unknown suspect”.
This time the detectives didn’t have to worry, since Eddie Saccardo somehow picked up a guy with blood all over him. The blood later matched to Alice’s Dad; once inside of the interrogation room; both Lilly and Scotty were almost ready to be sick themselves.
“You write this”, Scotty asked placing the note down. The man looked up, “Yes but I didn’t kill Alice, I saw her tripping one night with Ryan”.
“Who’s Ryan”?
The man drew in a deep breath, “Some yoyo that Alice had been seen shortly after her boyfriend had died. To tell you the truth, I think was trying to help her dull her own pain”.
Scotty wasn’t about to believe this guy; for more than a quick second, “You still haven’t told us, your real name”?
“I’ll let you figure that one out, Sherlock”, as Scotty then tried to lunge at him. However Lilly held him back, before restraining him up against a wall. He wasn’t about to back down, before accidently pushing his partner away.
As Lilly tried to get him to stop, both Stillman and Vera eventually restrained Scotty. Just moments after the door had been shut, everyone looked at Valens. However it was Saccardo whom had found something interesting, “He might be right, the drugs on him were LSD. My crew just raided his place, found more drugs including this”, throwing the book at Rush.
Inside were photos of Alice and Ryan, taken just three days before her death, “He loved her, but we know where he is now”? “We’re bringing him in now; some chick from West hauled him in for disorderly conduct. Turns out, he was committed into a nut house around the same time your victim had died”.
Though both he and Rush had once dated, it was plain clear that the two wanted back in. However with this case, Lilly remained very focused and committed to solving this case; first.

After Anna Mayes from West, had brought Ryan into the interrogation room; Kat then decided to conduct this interview. Upon stepping foot inside of the room, she could see Ryan the way it was back then until flashing forward to the way he now look. His long hair was now completely gone, while a long white beard hung down, to her she thought that Ryan now was pretty creepy.
Placing a photo down of him and Alice, Kat then sat down on the table, “So why were you giving Alice Wells drugs, specifically LSD”?
“Alice was in pain, she needed something to take her out of this world for just a short time. You didn’t understand what she had to live in daily, or seeing her eldest sister dying on the floor of the attic”, he said taking in a breath, “Chess was the only way for Alice to be herself, only if it was for a short time”.
Kat pondered a thought for a moment, “So why were you committed into a nut home”?
“I staged an overdose; Alice was supposed to join me in it. The girl knew that giving up wasn’t something she would ever do. Her best friend Leah befriended her two months ago, after she had informed Alice that she had gotten pregnant with her former boyfriend”.
This new information had peeked Miller’s attention, “If you’re saying is true, then Leah could have killed Alice”?
Ryan shook his head no, “Turns out right after she had gotten supposedly pregnant, Leah’s parents hit the roof and locked her up in the attic. I’m telling you that she had no reason to kill Alice, by then the girls went their separate paths”.
In Observation, both Rush and Valens both shook their heads, “Ryan just told a big fat lie”, as Scotty stormed into the room; before throwing down a book.
“Turns out that neither girl were even pregnant back in ’69. You lied to us Ryan, so why even lie”, pushing his face into the man’s. Ryan crossed his arms and sat back in his chair, “I have every reason to lie, to protect Alice. She was a descent girl, just born into the wrong family. You see I’m actually her twin brother but she never knew that; not even then. I was raised by mom in another part of the house, you see when we were both born our father despised having twins”.
Scotty knew that Mr. Wells was very well indeed a bad father; but this now was going way too far, “Instead of giving you up, your mother kept you locked up in another room. That must have been torturous living there without ever seeing your family”? “It was alright, except that mom didn’t give a crap about me or Alice. I was in the house the day that our oldest sister had died, and then the house was the set ablaze. Kind of got lost in drugs, until we found each other; I tried to get her to leave Philly but she wouldn’t”.

Ryan stands there while his hair blows around in the wind, but he doesn’t like what color now Alice’s hair has become, “What did you do to yourself”, he yells.
She then smiles, “its different right”, which doesn’t impress him one bit, “Will you relax Ryan”.
However it’s plain clear that Ryan knows something, “We have to get out of Philly tonight, start a new life one that we both can be free”.
“My home is here, then you leave I have a chess match to attend”, before behind pushed up against the side passenger door of a car. Ryan now isn’t fooling around, “Why can’t you listen to be Alice, you are always so stubborn”.
The present day Ryan now looks up, “That was the last I’ve saw her, and I wished that Alice could have listened. I was only trying to protect my twin sister, losing her hurts me more than you can even imagine”.
However in the back of Lilly’s mind, she is also thinking about her sister; Christina. Even though she is train wreck, the thought of missing her only sister was sad. Ryan had lost his twin sister, and Rush hoped that one day Christina would eventually come home.

Down at the cells, Lilly leaned in on David Sheppard whom shot her one cold, hard look. In fact, he still thought it was funny to have once brought harm to her. Now, Lilly wasn’t about to let this guy go; especially since she was also one of his victims.
“You knew Alice and Leigh, don’t kid yourself”, she growled, “A man like you, doesn’t deserve a second chance. Not after what you did to me. What I don’t get is why hurt those girls back in ‘69”?
David thought for a moment, “I don’t know but your jaw‘s sure healed up. You looked good covered in all that blood”, licking his lips which certainly despised Lilly, “You’re nothing but a monster, rot in hell”, before he watched her walking away from his cell.
Back in the interrogation room, Scotty was still interviewing Ryan. He never believed his story about wanting to run away with his twin sister, to him that sounded pretty far- fetched. Upon pushing two photographs of both Alice and Leigh dead, Ryan then looked up. Scotty knew that this man was playing him, “ What you can’t look, what I don’t get is why Leigh was killed 40 yrs later, and not back in ’69 with her friend”?
“You’re asking a question that I don’t know detective, but I was in love with Leigh. That angered Alice like I have never seen before, however Leigh then broke it off with me. She found someone else and we both moved past it”, as Ryan then looked at the photos, “Alice was a great chess player, nobody ever could compare to her”.
Another theory came into Scotty’s mind, “ Do you think a man named David Sheppard would kill Alice”, but then saw how Ryan had shook his head no, “ Our father could be pretty mean, but I’m still betting that he killed our mother and siblings”.
In another room, Kat was literally yelling at Mr. Wells. She knew that he knew something and was trying to hide it well.
Sitting on top of the table, she tossed the pictures at him, “You know something, now’s the time to tell. No more secrets”. Almost immediately Mr. Wells then took in a deep breath, “I killed my wife and kids, and stage and alibi to make it look as if I was innocent. Alice knew what I had done, but quite frankly I didn’t care too much to hurt her”.
Kat leaned in, “Then why did she land up dead, look at her”, as the older man’s eyes glanced downward. He knew that Alice was still very special to him, “She was different, and Alice had a gift that no one else had. Chess was her specialty, but I didn’t know who killed her”. Now with him confessing to the murder of his family, a cop led Mr. Wells into a holding cell. Still they still needed to solve both of Alice and Leigh’s murders.
They were still awaiting justice, for a long time. Forty years for Alice and a few weeks for Leigh, but still everyone wanted to find out the real truth to the matter.
Still Ryan’s alibi was weak, but when both Scotty and Lilly kicked open the door; after receiving a warrant from ADA Bell, the two found something interesting.
Inside the house was literally a pigstye; with dirty dishes piling up in sick and matteresses scatted about. It basically made the two of them sick, “ The guy is a pathetic slob”, commented Scotty, until hearing the sound of Lilly’s voice, “ What you got there Lil”? On one of the doors was a large lock, “ He holding someone inside”, before Scotty busted open the door. Inside the room, it was styled out of something from 1969, all the way down to a chess board. Looking around Lilly then found a black rose necklace, resting against a pillow. “ I think we found the other necklace”, showing him it.

Upon inspecting more of the place, Lilly found more photo albums that contained pictures of both Alice and Leigh. She knew that they were best friends, but why did it take 40 years for her to die, like this? Whatever Ryan was preserving was turning into more of an obsession, rather than a memory. The question why save every detail of Alice’s life?
Snapping the phone down, Scotty then turned towards her, “The house is owned by Charlie Wright, guy’s got a record longer than my arm. My buddy says that Alice had filed charges against Charlie for smacking her around in 1967, but was later dropped”. Lilly then took in a breath, “Where is he now”, she asked? That was question that Scotty couldn’t answer or even tried to, “ Looks as if Charlie loved her”, indicating a picture of them together, however Alice looked very pregnant in it, “You see something”?
Back on the streets, the detectives searched high and low for Charlie; hoping that he could fill in the missing gaps that lead to Alice’s death. However Vera had managed to track him down in an abounded apartment in Kensington; not far from where Rush had grown up. Inside the apartment was filled with more garbage, “You know her”, holding up a picture of Alice, “She died in 1969”, yelled Vera. Charlie flashed from how he had looked back in ’69; with long hair and bellbottoms; to a scruffy guy with bad hygiene.
